“Was pleasantly surprised with the food of this place. Relatively easy to get a reservation during the week. Definitely recommend sitting outside with the bonfire pits. Service was a little slow and the we got our food very spaced out hence the 4 instead of 5 stars.“

“Brought some friends there to watch playoff football and a ufc fight. Ended up having the best filet mignon of my life. So tender you could slice through it with the side of your fork. Had fresh oysters from Virginia, which I was told are only $2 on Tuesday or Wednesday (have to fact check here). And probably the best thing on the menu is the bacon wrapped plantains, not a lot of food, but every bite is heaven. Wife loved her fancy drinks, but I prefer scotch.“

“If you want to experience a place where the locals actually spend their time, this is it. We were pointed here by someone from the area who told us to skip the crowded tourist spots and check out this neighborhood favorite instead. It ended up being one of the most enjoyable stops of our trip.

The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and full of character. It has that classic dive bar feel where people come to unwind, catch up with friends, watch a game, or shoot a few rounds of pool. Nothing feels forced or trendy, which is exactly what makes it so appealing.

We kept things simple with a burger, some snacks, and a few drinks. The food was better than expected, and there was a solid selection of beers both on tap and in bottles. Prices were reasonable, portions were satisfying, and service was friendly throughout our visit.

By the end of the evening, several regulars were chatting with us and wishing us a good night. “Great little spot to eat food that you bought at the airport. Bartender is super friendly too! Just keep in mind you will be paying the price of a 6 pack or 10 pack for 1 beer (Coors Light) so to get more bang for your buck, order the Long Island iced tea or the 20 oz Space Dust IPA. :)“

“Our church, Triedstone MBC, just hosted a luncheon for our leadership team. It was catered by Darrow’s New Orleans Grill. We were very pleased with our experience. The food was delicious. And the service was great! They arrived early. And the food was hot. The owner, Norwood, presented the food with a very appetizing description of each entree. Everyone loved it! Additionally, the portions were very generous. And everyone went back for seconds. At Triedstone, we do everything with excellence. And Darrow’s definitely met the challenge. We were a group of about 40 and from the very beginning, Liz made the entire process so easy and stress free. She was always available with quick replies to questions, flexible with any requests we had made, and genuinely excited to have us and was just wonderful. I got to meet Zach the night of the event and he was exactly the same way. They both understand hospitality and made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The staff that night made amazing drinks and the food was delicious. On top of that, the room itself is already a beautiful space, but when we walked in and saw it decked out in the holiday lights, we knew right away we made the perfect choice in Corner Door. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and took our order promptly. As the restaurant became busier, we understandably did not see her as often. I do wish our drinks had been refilled more frequently, especially since I do not drink alcohol and relied more on my regular beverage. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food served, and the portions were generous. There was also plenty of parking, which made the visit easy and convenient. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant experience.“

“Force of Nature is one of the cutest little places I’ve ever stopped for a drink. From the moment we walked in, it felt warm, inviting, and effortlessly charming.

The rooftop terrace is the perfect mix of laid-back and cozy, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a long, hot day. I especially loved the community table—it added so much character and made the space feel welcoming and connected.

The drinks were fantastic: strong enough to know they were crafted well, but perfectly balanced and incredibly delicious. The wines leaned on the fruitier side, which made them easy to enjoy without being overly sweet.

What really made the experience stand out, though, was the bartender, who also seemed to be the hostess and waitress. She was genuinely kind, welcoming, and made everyone feel at home. She had the kind of personality that makes you wish she’d sit down and have a drink with you.

The entire vibe of Force of Nature is relaxed, friendly, and unpretentious. It’s the kind of place where you intend to stop for one drink and end up staying for hours because you simply don’t want to leave. I can’t wait to come back.“

The place looks very upscale and is well maintained. There's furniture around the space in a casual living room kind of fashion. The space is very warm and welcoming and feels very intimate. The room sounds great acoustically and the band last night was super fun.“

On the Tuesday trivia nights they have a food truck come. Definitely a great addition to the downtown San Pedro area.“

“Walking into Old Lightning feels like stepping into Pablo Moix’s private whiskey collection—rare, curated, and full of bottles you’ve only seen in photos. Hidden behind Scopa, the bar features an incredible lineup of high-end spirits: single cask Springbanks, rare Willetts, unique Balvenies, and other bottles you’ll probably never see again. Prices are high (sometimes maybe a bit too high), but you're paying for access to some truly special stuff.

What really makes this place stand out, though, is Oscar. He’s not just pouring drinks—he’s setting the tone for the whole experience. Super knowledgeable, but never pretentious. Inviting, energetic, and clearly passionate about what he does. “We were headed out of Venice and decided to stop by here because of the cool sign, and the fact there was free street parking right out front. The guy bartending (didn't get his name, but he has glasses and he's super friendly!) was quick to serve us. This is a sports type bar attached to an Italian restaurant, so it's pretty laid back but you get the option to order from their full menu. We were debating on grabbing something small to munch on, when we were surprised with complimentary hot garlic rolls! They really hit the spot, and paired well with our drinks. They came around quite a few times offering a refill on the bread, which was such a cool bonus. It feels like nothing in life is free, but the rolls here are and they are BANGIN.“

“We had dinner reservations at 7:45. On a Friday night. We were sat immediately but at the most inhospitable table in the restaurant. They should be ashamed of themselves to put a table inline of the waitstaff that literally went past us the entire time. I've never been sat at such a terrible table in my life. Normally I would have just said I'd wait for another table but my daughter was really hungry. In addition to that, they were incessantly grabbing plates off our table when I was still literally eating my food. I had to stop them several times. And then they came with the machine in hand to ask if I wanted anything g else and then proceeded to give me the bill. I didn't ask for the bill but they decided when I needed to get it. Mind you, there were no more people waiting for tables so the rush to move us off of our table was unfounded. Every table around us were still sitting and enjoying each others company except for us. I am more than livid at the waitstaff's pushiness and they need to be trained better.“
