“We were walking on the boardwalk and literally just found this place. Looked like an old shack from the outside with some crazy heavy sliding door. Once we walked in we were transported to a beautiful restaurant! The cocktail menu was so alluring as everything was something we’ve never had. If you’re into a sweet cocktails definitely get the rhapsody in red - I couldn’t even taste the alcohol. We got an app to share. The calamari was incredible but the smelt was super fishy. AJA was the girl who likes to swear in front of 10-16 year olds and get one fan supporting her (literally 6 women who woo-hoo'ed her and agreed with things she was talking about kids know nothing about). “Bartenders are always great. Seen plenty of bands play here, the back room for that is perfect for the sounds to bounce all over without any 'bar noise' nuisance you'd get at a local bar show. There's a big back patio area and at one point in some summertime ago, they served food out there. Front bar section has a Photo Booth, a small section of records to shop and foosball to play, and several booths to sit at, perfect to wait out a band you are waiting to finish before the next band plays. “I love the shack. Been coming here since I was like 17. Shoutout to the fake id that said I was 6'4 when I was maybe 5'10. The Shack Burger is a staple to absorb some of the drunken mistakes you might have made at the other bars prior to. I always allude to the shack as a beach bar with food reminiscent of a backyard barbecue with your relatives. It's not a destination that you necessarily seek out, but an oasis that you stumble into thinking you're just going to have one, but end up having several. Meaning people just talk amongst the group of friends they came with- it’s not very social if you come alone and want to meet new people.Overall, service is not bad but it’s not good. You will wait much longer than expected. This is if the bar is full or just 1 to 5 people inside. Experienced both.Drinks are good and strong- price varies as they do have happy hour, but I usually pay closer to 17 bucks for one drink after happy hour.Had the sliders which were excellent but the wings were cooked very hard and they were not good.Now this part can be superficial, but this is for the fellas. The woman are on the larger/older side. This place doesn’t attract younger, smaller sized women. I’m not saying the women aren’t pretty, but if you also want someone in shape I would say this is not the place.And for the women… there’s a selection of men who come in solo to “watch the game” but besides small talk and a drink being bought for a very select few- I don’t really see you meeting anyone here. Just not set up for that vibe in my opinion. Stick to your gworls.But with all that being said, something about the Nile Bar really works. You just want to always come back because it does feel great.
