“Brought some friends there to watch playoff football and a ufc fight. Ended up having the best filet mignon of my life. So tender you could slice through it with the side of your fork. Had fresh oysters from Virginia, which I was told are only $2 on Tuesday or Wednesday (have to fact check here). And probably the best thing on the menu is the bacon wrapped plantains, not a lot of food, but every bite is heaven. Wife loved her fancy drinks, but I prefer scotch.“

“Our church, Triedstone MBC, just hosted a luncheon for our leadership team. It was catered by Darrow’s New Orleans Grill. We were very pleased with our experience. The food was delicious. And the service was great! They arrived early. And the food was hot. The owner, Norwood, presented the food with a very appetizing description of each entree. Everyone loved it! Additionally, the portions were very generous. And everyone went back for seconds. At Triedstone, we do everything with excellence. And Darrow’s definitely met the challenge. “Was told by a friend “total dive bar, but the experience is 80% why we go”. I have to say, he wasn’t wrong! The “dive bar” is like a second home to me as it’s kind of where we just grew up as kids. As places begin to modernize, the dive bar aspect slowly slips away.

Came here for some quick dinner and wasn’t disappointed. It was insanely busy!! The biggest downside during the busy time was the wait. Wait for drinks, wait for food… etc. However, staff did a pretty good job at trying to keep up with what they had to do.

Burger was $13 and came with a bag of chips. It was good food and hit the spot. Definitely a fun little place to visit… just maybe when it’s not so busy.“

“What an incredible gem of Los Angeles that Sam First is! The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, comfortable seating, amazing acoustics, and a pervasive but not overwhelming jazz vibe that really sets this place apart from any other bar in LA. Every seat has a great earshot of the stage, and the drinks (of the few that I’ve had off the enormous menu) have really hit the mark. I highly recommend Sam First if you are looking for a date night, just make sure you don’t talk during the set, or bring friends, family, anyone. This is amazing experience and I can’t wait to visit again!“

“We picked this spot at random and it ended up being the best bar I ever ended up at. Owner is coolf, he has consoles for his customers to play, even the security is chill. He wants to support local breweries and is a down to earth guy trying to put the customer first. I recommend people to pull up and judge for themselves.“

We're here for the first time to see how it was. It was fairly empty. I ordered wine. They didn't have any wine, never been to a bar that doesn't have wine. Well, he said they were out. But okay, you could at least go buy some at the store..

Inside there is a pool table.. I think possibly two. It's very spacious, it's just a bad location because the parking sucks.. The whole parking lot has signs that it's reserved for some other business.. There is some parking in the back behind the bar, but it's not a lot..

I like the decor they have set up here. Parking can be a pain since its right on Prairie but if you drive into the neighborhood you usually can find a spot. If you like brooklyn bar down hawthorne you'd like this place. Similar vibe.“

“I was in the area and wanted to stop by; this was on my list of tryouts and I am glad I did. I love a great cocktail, I strongly enjoyed the Orange Fox. I liked the vibe, my only issue was that getting a drink was a bit difficult when first getting in. It seemed like there weren’t enough bartenders for how busy it felt but it was basically their re-opening weekend so maybe it was just a fluke! Otherwise I really liked it!“

“This place is really growing. I went to their opening and since then started going to the weekly trivia events. It’s a really fun brewery atmosphere, lowkey local and good beer on tap. On the Tuesday trivia nights they have a food truck come. Definitely a great addition to the downtown San Pedro area.“

“We were headed out of Venice and decided to stop by here because of the cool sign, and the fact there was free street parking right out front. The guy bartending (didn't get his name, but he has glasses and he's super friendly!) was quick to serve us. This is a sports type bar attached to an Italian restaurant, so it's pretty laid back but you get the option to order from their full menu. We were debating on grabbing something small to munch on, when we were surprised with complimentary hot garlic rolls! They really hit the spot, and paired well with our drinks. They came around quite a few times offering a refill on the bread, which was such a cool bonus. It feels like nothing in life is free, but the rolls here are and they are BANGIN.“
