“5-star alert! My wife surprised me with this delicious Tunisian restaurant on Father’s Day! It was like an exotic trip to Mediterranean North Africa. The servers were good and the owner was super friendly and helpful! We had prawns, fish, lamb, cauliflowers, and the infamous Hand of Fatima. Everything was delicious, with unique flavors and beautifully presented. The sauces were so unique and flavorful, we had 3 orders of bread as we want to enjoy more of the flavors in every dish!“

“I tried their new Grandma style pizza and it was simply amazing. The cheese crown on the pizza is one of the best I’ve ever seen. “Gum Tree Shop & Café is a small café and shop just a short walk from the Strand in Hermosa Beach. It’s been around for a while and feels very much like a local neighborhood spot.

Parking was easy right out front, which made the visit even more convenient. The café has outdoor seating, and you can sit with your coffee and feel the ocean air, with a steady flow of people and dogs passing by.

We ordered at the counter and had coffees, avocado toast with fruit, and a breakfast burrito. The food was fresh and straightforward, and the service was friendly and efficient.

The attached shop is a nice addition, with a thoughtful selection of home goods, cookbooks, and small gifts — an easy place to pick up something for a birthday or housewarming.

It does get a bit chilly in the morning, so bringing a light layer helps. Overall, a reliable Hermosa Beach stop for a casual breakfast or coffee after a walk along the beach.“

“This is one of our favorite spots in the south bay! We love it so much we actually had our wedding reception at the rooftop. Food and service are always great and Andrew has been fantastic at taking care of our guests on our wedding day. Love their Iris Azul, El Pistachio and all the mezcal drinks. As for food - die for tortillas and decadent Chimichangas!“

“Update July 2026: docking a full star for the creepy AI answering system that pretended to not be AI with fake restaurant background noise even though it clearly answered slowly and with a delay. It then gave me the wrong info and asked if I wanted a menu sent to me. I said no, it did it anyways by the time the call hung up. I had checked that menu link before calling, it didn't answer my question. All I wanted to know was if there was still food happy hour specials in the summer (there aren't), and I had to physically go in person instead. I would've loved for this info to be on the website, wait staff does spend a lot of time on phone calls. Instead both our time got wasted because I no longer have a way to communicate with the restaurant without going in person. There are still lunch volley bowl deals.

2025: Fantastic view of the ocean and beach. Great specials at lunch and on weekdays. We actually were walking to the Tuesday burger special at Hennessey's Tavern, which we go to often. They caught our eye. This was a perfectly cooked juicy burger with great, strong seasoning and fresh toppings. We got a side of fries, which were delicious and crispy from the blisteringly hot first bite to the last cooled fry. We may have a new beach side burger Tuesday joint with a slightly improved view! It's a solid jump in quality for what you usually find in Hermosa, especially this close to the water.

Staff were friendly. I like the menu a bit more at the Redondo location but you can't beat the view and vibe at the beach. We'll be back to try the extensive drink menu“

“I was pretty lucky I got to be the first customer but I get to come here only once a month so it’s a big treat for me store is very clean everybody was very friendly and welcoming I only get to eat food like this once a month as mentioned earlier but I absolutely love the number one with fries and that’s gonna be up to 1100 cal so if you’re watching your weight you need to be prepared to make this an all day experience. I love the pepper bar… I’ve always like pepperscini with my french fries but I can only have that every so often lol they have outdoor seating that’s heated they have a fountain filled with wonderful drinks and they’re open until 10 PM Monday through Sunday!“

Beautiful staff that was very attentive. Seems also like a great rendition of an Irish pub right on the beach and near many of the Hermosa motels. Can't go wrong here!! “I don’t have a single bad thing to say about Cafe Bonaparte!! My boyfriend and I are spending the weekend in Hermosa for his birthday and we’ve come to this cafe 3 times and we plan to come again before we leave. Everything was so so good. The bacon, egg and cheese croissant literally made my eyes roll back. All of the pastry’s are fire. Everyone who works here is super kind but especially this one girl (kinda tall, body tea, blonde hair w/ low lights??? And black claw clip). I don’t know her name and clearly don’t know her at all but I could just tell she was a girls girl. She was great and her vibes were amazing. Okay love you bye🤍“

“I had the jr super deluxe wet burrito with chicken as my protein choice. The burrito was everything that I had hoped for. Great sauce, fresh ingredients and tender meat. The service was top notch. I was welcomed with a smile and exceptional customer service. The atmosphere can't be matched. It's located close to the beach, the day was perfect. Not to hot and not to cold.
