The crust was spot-on, the sauce had just the right balance, and the cheese was gooey perfection. I also tried their craft soda and loved it — super refreshing and a nice change from the usual. Great spot in Hermosa Beach. I’ll definitely be back!“

“This is our 2nd time here. I came for the pizza. In search of what we had in Napoli. But the 1st time I can I got distracted by the handmade pasta. So this time I stayed the course. I can report i like it! It's still not as thin but it's close. And they have this cheese pasta dish where the cheese is warmed up and then the fixings mixed in. I'll have to try it next time. The one time I had it was in Argentina. Although they boast 60% of Argentines are of Italian heritage, it's probably not quite right. There was also music tonight and the servers were attentive. “This is an awesome pizza place that I'm so happy to have in the area. The pizza always tastes fresh and they use quality toppings. My favorites are the spicy pepperoni and the great white. We also love the garlic knots and the cookie with ice cream on top. The service is great-- special shoutout to Luis, who always helps with my order and hooks it up for us. Also, love the outdoor seating because the weather is nice and perfect for a lunch. Definitely will be coming back.“

“As an LA native who worked in pizzerias for 5 years and has made trips to NY and Brooklyn for pizza, I can say Petramale Pizza is some of the best NY-style I’ve had on the West Side. The crust is perfectly thin, the cheese is high quality and well-balanced, and the sauce has a rich tang. The service is also a standout. The owner greets everyone like a lifelong friend, and they’re generous, often handing out drinks or sides while you wait. What they’re doing for the community is impressive.

On a return visit, I tried their recommended Margarita with pepperoni (the “Margaroni”), and it wasn’t for me. They go very heavy on the parmesan and bake it with parm and basil already on, which threw off the balance of the pie. I'd highly recommend they switch to adding the parmesan on afterwards, and using fresh parmesan if they aren't already.

That said, I’d still highly recommend coming here. Stick with their more traditional pies and you’ll get an excellent NY-style experience.“

“Pizza was excellent! Crunchy crust. Very generous with the toppings, unlike some places. It's pretty much a takeout place, While there is seating, it's pretty much an afterthought. If they want to encourage dining there, they could certainly make the dining room more inviting with some simple, inexpensive upgrades. (Like loose the XMAS decorations and Santas. It's almost March, replace the burned-out light bulbs in the chandeliers, red-checked tablecloths on the tables, don't store supplies in the dining room or where visible from it. Some type of partition around the order counter would help).“

“BEST PIZZA IN THE SOUTH BAY! My boyfriend introduced me to this little gem a few years ago and I can honestly say any other pizza I try since doesn't come close to the amazing taste that Jack's pizza makes. We're lucky enough to live 3 minutes away from this place, so we usually pick up and bring the pie home, but it's always piping hot and perfection every time. I honestly don't go anywhere else for pizza since my first bite of Jack's pizza, and I can pretty much guarantee you won't either. This place has been around for a long long time, I think somewhere around the 80's and I hope they stay around making magic in the kitchen for many years to come. “The staff was very kind and accommodating here. I ordered a gluten-free vegan cheese veggie pizza. (I'm not vegan, just wasn't feeling like meat) and the gluten-free crust was delicious. The vegan cheese was much too heavy for me, so I recommend asking for light cheese unless you're into that.

The missing star is only for atmosphere and the crowd it draws. A lot of people were high on various kinds of substances, and I was harassed repeatedly by another customer while waiting for my food. I understand it's a cheap food place that is open fairly late into the evening, but so are lots of places, so it's odd.

Not a place to dine-in unless you need to in a pinch. There are all but two tables. Overall very happy with the staff and food!
