The layers were perfectly balanced and each bite was full of rich, savory flavors. Let's not forget dessert! We shared a few different things and they were all great. The tiramisu was fluffy and decadent and the chocolate mousse was rich and smooth. Overall, Angelini Osteria is definitely a must-try for Italian food lovers in Los Angeles. “Danny Boys pizza is top tier. The toppings are fresh, the crust is crispy and the salads are delicious. We split a few slices including the meatball ricotta and the vodka sauce special which was excellent. We also split the chopped italian salad which was super fresh and had a great variety of toppings.

“Came for the Father’s Day brunch with husband and kids. We sat outside on the patio overlooking the marina. Very calming ambience. I was pleased to see there was a kids’ menu even though the restaurant has more of an adult vibe. We ordered the sushi flight, Caesar salad, taco trio, and Caesar mushroom wrap. The kids got guacamole, cheeseburgers, lemonade, and a big cookie. All the food was excellent and generous portions. I was expecting very small portions so we ordered way too much food and will have leftovers for dinner. I wish I had taken pictures cause it was all so pretty! We will be definitely go back again. They were great at making seating for our large party (we did make reservations in advance).
The hummus plate had lots of beautiful flavors and veggies that melded perfectly. The roasted cauliflower was especially delicious, with a sumac olive oil (I think, I'm assuming by taste), and a tahina, shug, amba dipping sauce.
The shakshuka was peppery and filling.

I had nothing to compare it to... other than what you see on TV... but this pepperoni slice was amazing... long strands of melted cheese, the sauce was soooo good and just the right enough of spice and oil from the pepperoni. “We tried the Truffle Mushroom Pizza, The Works, and Popeye’s White Pizza. They were all delicious, but personally, my favorite was the Truffle Mushroom Pizza.

The fresh mushrooms and peppery arugula complemented each other perfectly, giving the pizza a fresh, clean, and well-balanced flavor. The dough was also just the right thickness—chewy on the inside and nicely crispy on the outside.

“As an LA native who worked in pizzerias for 5 years and has made trips to NY and Brooklyn for pizza, I can say Petramale Pizza is some of the best NY-style I’ve had on the West Side. The crust is perfectly thin, the cheese is high quality and well-balanced, and the sauce has a rich tang. The service is also a standout. The owner greets everyone like a lifelong friend, and they’re generous, often handing out drinks or sides while you wait. What they’re doing for the community is impressive.

On a return visit, I tried their recommended Margarita with pepperoni (the “Margaroni”), and it wasn’t for me. They go very heavy on the parmesan and bake it with parm and basil already on, which threw off the balance of the pie. I'd highly recommend they switch to adding the parmesan on afterwards, and using fresh parmesan if they aren't already.

That said, I’d still highly recommend coming here. Stick with their more traditional pies and you’ll get an excellent NY-style experience.“

My boyfriend introduced me to this little gem a few years ago and I can honestly say any other pizza I try since doesn't come close to the amazing taste that Jack's pizza makes. We're lucky enough to live 3 minutes away from this place, so we usually pick up and bring the pie home, but it's always piping hot and perfection every time. I honestly don't go anywhere else for pizza since my first bite of Jack's pizza, and I can pretty much guarantee you won't either. This place has been around for a long long time, I think somewhere around the 80's and I hope they stay around making magic in the kitchen for many years to come.
