“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. “the service was spectacular. really fun group of servers... food = excellent - exception: chicken appetizer a little greasy/ excessively fried but everything else: salmon, hamachi, avocado fries, duck tacos, etc. was great. a little too loud at first due to boisterous group in the bar right next to our table. acoustics are not great for conversation when the bar is hopping. this is my second time and I will come back.“

The band was excellent and over all we had a beautiful time. I suggest that if you decide to go there check the online menu first. “Dave Beran is a powerhouse having been head chef at Alinea and won a James Beard award. He also owns Pasjoli.

The Spring menu was visually plated and taste spectacular. There was a rhythm like music to the presentations. The wine pair was top notch and paired wonderfully.

The only nit is that the atmosphere was too black felt cold and not warm or inviting. The waiters were friendly but could be more personal and also felt cold. Beside that they are ready for a minimum Michelin 1-star and maybe 2.

Classic hole in the wall with outstanding specials including fish tacos that absolutely rock at a fair price (especially on Wednesday when they offer a $3.00 per fish taco special that can'tbe beat) Worth the drive...and close to LAX.
