“Once you get past the fact that the food is exquisite, then you have to acknowledge that John treats you like a close friend and has all of the perfect guidance and Uber-hospitable execution that make a meal at FWD a notable experience. Bravo.“

“The restaurant needs to buy one can of WD-40 to fix their squeaky front door. Had to wait 20 minutes outside the front door waiting for our table (which was not a big deal) but for the incredibly squeaky front door which opens repeatedly. Everyone waiting for their table was getting a headache. Food was great. I won't return until I know that door is fixed.“

“This place totally lives up to its hype and is 100% deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. I would highly recommend one of the chef’s tasting menus to let the chef take your taste buds on a gastronomic journey bursting with flavor at every twist and turn. Each dish is truly a unique delight and will wow your senses. I would highly recommend the Beef Rendang, the butter chicken, the green papaya salad, and the dry aged branzino. You have to order the roti too of course! The atmosphere feels like your rich grandmothers living room with pink wallpaper and vintage- looking wood tables. They also serve the dishes on mix and matched antique porcelain plates with unique designs, which adds to the vibe. You have to make a reservation here in advance, unless you’re cool sitting outside at a high top (fyi when we sat here the service was not as good as usual).“

“I had a great date night experience at Fia. The service from the waiters to the host and hostesses were excellent. I felt welcomed and everyone was very happy to be of service. The food, drinks, and ambiance was also amazing. I will definitely be back!“

“Seafood incredibly fresh and service was great. There were some times where the staff forgot to get us our drinks but that wasn’t a big deal. The food was delicious but on the pricier side. Been told to reserve for dinner course experience so maybe that was what I was missing out on. For a lunch experience, it was nice but pricier than I expected.Best item was the kanpachi uni tostada“
“It's a tragedy that Manzke is closing at the end of February. A restaurant this good shouldn't have to close. Everything is fantastic. The food is rich in flavor with a cocktail and wine list as close to perfection as possible. I'd encourage anyone who loves fine dining to enjoy Manzke while you can. Oh, and the butter is heavenly...“

“I was uncomfortable with the place down the street. It looked rowdy. Javi told us to try this place. He said it's been here over 10 years. I wish I knew about this place sooner. It's a hidden gem. They have a huge indoor seating area, cafeteria style. There's restrooms. We paid $120 for two botanas, a dozen oysters, 6 shrimp tacos, two tostadas, and three drinks. Yum. Sorry! We were hungry, forgot to take before pictures. ?“

“The food was delicious here. Picking your fish is a unique experience and our waiter was really helpful selecting the perfect catch. So service was great from our waiter but a note, for the price point here spent, empty dishes and cocktail glasses sat too long on the table. It’s also time to retire the idea of the restroom attendant. It’s an antiquated class concept. The gentleman was completely charming, this is not about him, it’s about the concept. All the men I saw going into the bathroom were old enough to dispense their own soap and dry their own hands. I hope you can find another place for the attendant in the ranks of your staff.“

“A unique and truly special meal. First, the food is so unique, inspired, and delicious. Second, we were offered a non-alcoholic beverage pairing that was thoughtfully paired with each dish—as someone seeking to decrease my alcohol consumption, I wish every restaurant put a tenth of the thought into their nonalcoholic options as Kato does. Finally, the service is so warm and welcoming. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time.“

“As a career restaurant manager I am incredibly hard to please. Because I manage restaurants for a living I can sometimes be a bit critical of food, beverage, service, and ambiance. Si! Mon executed all of those categories perfectly. Food was balanced, layered with flavors that captured the essence of Latin cuisine. Something as simple as a tostada was just loaded with flavor with the perfect amount of acid. Service was on point, it’s very easy to miss service steps in a place that does tapas (small shareable plates) but we were bussed and marked for more rounds of food at every turn and never needed to ask for anything. Cocktails and wine selection for perfect for the style of food. Short wine by the glass list, BUT, perfect choices to be paired with the menu. Ambiance, three different vibes. Inside, more upscale and swanky. Patio, Tulum vibes… sexy.. casual… tower heaters added great ambiance. “Upstairs” more intimate, less noise, great for a date. Well done! Hope you guys get a James Beard nod for best new restaurant“

“I pass by Yama a lot on my way to and from the Santa Monica Airport. I typically drop by the Chipotle next door to pick up something quick but decided to check out Yama. And am I glad I did! The 5 pc nigiri Bento Box was exactly what I was looking for in a medium/light lunch. I was especially impressed with the karaage. Even after my 10 minute drive home, it remained crispy and reasonably warm. The sauce it’s soaked in is incredibly tasty and satisfying. The cold noodles were a nice simple side and the nigiri was solid. Expect to wait about 10 minutes for them to make the box freshly for you. I will definitely be coming back here and telling my friends about it.“

“Everything was fine. The food was delicious as usual. The only thing that really bothered us was the stuff who was approaching our table every 5 minutes asking if we were done with our food for them to take the plates away. Kind of annoying.“

“I did have to wait awhile to be seated because it was just me and I had a reservation for bar seating. However, the staff was so nice and friendly. They apologized for the wait and the hostess offered me a glass of champagne while I waited, and I got a drink on the house. I even got a tour of the speakeasy while I waited. Dustin is a great bartender and has such a good vibe! Delicious food and a fun atmosphere all around.“

“One of the most memorable dinner of my life! This is why you save up for a great meal. Elevated Korean food dinning, you don't have to fly to Korea for. Every dish was presented beautifully, artistically and tasted as good as it looked. Even the service was top notch. I hope to come back soon, as I'll dream about this experience.“

“I love this place. Friendly people and great food. The best beef and broccoli ever. If you are snooty and need pretentious nonsense in a restaurant, please skip. This is salt of the Earth dining in a pleasant atmosphere (or take out) where the food shows how much work went into it.“

“I enjoyed this place a lot! We sat at the bar and got a chef's tasting menu. Everything was outstanding! We came in from Vegas for quick getaway and this place did not disappoint. If we're ever in the area again we're come back! We particularily enjoyed the cooked carrots and the mushroom pasta we were served“

“Brought my parents into Playa Provisions Monday for dinner and was blown away. Sunset views were amazing & the food did not disappoint. Ash was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. She highly recommended the mussels and clams which we probably would have overlooked & they were incredible. Can't wait to come back in!“

“Our waiter was friendly and fantastic. The venue itself is very cool. But cool in temperature too. The whole front of the place is open with no wall and we had to keep our jackets on the whole time. The food was very tasty and we loved the trio of guacamole. The filet tacos were too smokey flavored. We finished with the flan and it was amazing. Big enough to share!“

“As always, dinner at Milky Way was special. Fish and Chips, Mini Chimichangas, Seafood Chowder, and Impossible Cheeseburger all exceptional. Service by Takiya was great again(my wife was able to switch raw onions to carmelized onion and American cheese to Swiss cheese.). My mother chose the chili to start fish and chips rather than salad options. Ambiance? Like going to your favorite aunt for a meal.“

“Where do I even start. I rarely go on Yelp and give reviews, but after going to this place multiple times, I must share the hard work this restaurant puts out. This is truly a gem in Playa Del Rey. Everything about this place is just amazing. It's a small and intimate spot close to the water and has the softest sushi out there. Every bite the fish melts in your mouth and just shows you how good simple and good ingredients can get. I've tried multiple places looking for good sushi but nothing compares. I will say, it is a bit pricey but 100% worth it. The service may be a little slow at times but you gotta give the staff a break when they are working so hard. They are all so polite and make sure you're table is always clean.“

“We ordered Tamales from here for the holidays and they were absolutely delicious! Great flavor with just enough spice. The server was extremely friendly and got our order fast. Not to mention they were super hot so it tasted so fresh. We were able to freeze some as well for later. We can't wait to go back to try other food!“

“Awesome spot if you want a slow night with light bites and great wine. Also, great spot if you want to start your wild night, slowly! Haha!I recently swung in here to start off the night before heading into one of the local clubs. Shared a few glasses of wine with a friend. We partnered our glasses with some bread and butter as we caught up in the space. No loud music or noise makes for great, easy, intimate conversation.Highly recommend if you're into trying new wines as their selection is very impressive.“

“A small spot with some really high quality fresh fish. Plates are small, which keeps things fun and interesting - you can order a lot! It also means the price can run up quickly, so be prepared and perhaps not overly hungry. Still, these plates were all delicious, fresh, and light.“

“Had a delicious meal here with fantastic service and incredible ambiance. Could also hear folks in the separate bar area having a great time so will have to come back for just that. Food was such a lovely throwback to vintage years, but redone with imagination. Starting with the bougie tater tots which were underneat in caviar and creme fraiche, and the stone crab claws w/ Louie dressing were delicious. I had the chopped salad and others had the crab toast which they enjoyed. The chicken parmigiana is a classic there and I've had it 5xs in the past and always love it with the side of marinara. My guests had the fish and chips (loved it) and the salmon (loved it - good size portion). Food portions are generous and allows for sharing. We ended up splitting the bananas foster which isn't usually my go-to dessert but the brandy sauce was so delicious that I may have that in the future over all other desserts too!!!“

“Good seafood! Came here on a thursday night at 7pm and it wasn't packed at all. Come here before it gets too popular, because I can see this place blowing up. Shrimp Aguachile: I recommend waiting for the shrimp to marinate and cook in the lime juice first. When the platter first arrived the shrimp didn't taste as good but as the dinner went on the shrimp was sweeter and delicious at the end. Octopus Taco: Tender octopus, the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste but my friend enjoyed it the best. Sirloin Steak Taco: My favorite taco. Tender meat, yummy sauce, and cheese, you can't go wrong. Fish Taco: Not my favorite fish taco but you can tell the ingredients are very high quality. I think they need a hot sauce to add to this. Kanpachi Ceviche: Solid, not the best I had, but still fresh and tasty. Needs a hot sauce for sure!“

“Our first time trying this spot. Once I heard there was a lobster specific spot in the South Bay, I had to give it a go. Fun little spot with a bar top as well as booths and tables. We had the lobster rolls Connecticut style, waffle fries, and flaming hot lobster fries. Definitely worth a try. We knew going into it that it would be a pretty penny but wanted to get the full experience on the first go. Also, friendly service definitely stood out. Much appreciated. If you're in the mood for lobster check this spot out.“

“If you’re ever in the Southbay in LA do yourself a favor and source this seafood gem. It’s ALWAYS busy and I don’t like waiting in line but I will here. The benefit of seafood being fresh is because they sell enough that it’s always excellent. There providers must love the account and take good care of them.Okay, ceviche is a must do with tostada chips, avocado and a slew of hot sauces and a self serve salsa station that also offers marinated white onion ribbons and wonderful whole roasted yellow chiles dusted with a red tangy red spice.Tacos come with a variety of seafood options, I suggest the battered fish as a beginning test since you will come back for them anytime you go again, just trust this.Prices are reasonable and the staff are very happy, why not, everyone eating there are friggin happy too. Parking can be a buzzkill but you’ll figure it out.“

“This is a authentic Peruvian friendly and family oriented restaurant in LA. The Loma Saltado doesn’t even need extra salt. It is well seasoned and the flavors are on point. The owner has been in the area for 40 years and people have come to this place for a homie meal.“

“Went here as a second option as my original spot didn't take reservations over 4 people. The food is fine here, but I was disappointed with the portion sizes of the sushi and other items. Perhaps it's because we got the omakase, but maybe it's because everyone is trying to save on costs, but keep the prices the same or higher.“

“We love your food. Unfortunately we had a server who just didnt seem to understand how to enhance the guest experience. There were a few things: a salad to start and share without any utensils was one...but probably the most annoying was while I was still eating my lunch , my friend had finished hers. He came and started clearing the dishes and asked if we wanted dessert or to see a dessert menu...I looked up and said maybe when I have finished my lunch we will think about dessert. It's Rude!“

“Jolly Oyster is located in Citizen Public Market. There's counter seating and also plenty of communal seating inside, outside, and on the rooftop. The area can get quite busy during weekend meal hours.I ordered one thing. The baked oysters were really good. $20 for 1/2 dozen and you can pick whichever flavors you want. I split this with a friend and tried the cacio e pepe, habanero lime, and French onion. All were delicious. I heard the kimchi was really good too. The cashier was very friendly. I definitely want to come back and try other items on their menu.“

“We love this place for a sunny lunch/brunch on the weekends to grab a burger, some drinks and the kale salad we love. You can’t beat the prices and being able to catch some sun in a non pretentious manner. Not giving 5 stars because the girl working the bar has been consistently rude and doesn’t seem to enjoy her job which is kind of a buzz kill but otherwise 5 stars ✨“

“Some of the best tempura in LA. I really like their tempura bowl, especially the tempura egg that you break apart and the yolk spreads over the rice. I typically pair it with the soba noodles. “I've had the pleasure of trying the ceviche tropical and ceviche de Miguelito. Both were tasty, however, there wasn't any mango in the tropical ceviche. I prefer the ceviche de Miguelito as it came with limes the few times I've ordered. I've also tried the shrimp and fish tacos, both were tasty! I prefer the fish taco, they have a great 2 taco for $7 deal that's great. One of these will fill you up, so two of them is a meal :) Ambience: Street parking only, they are on the side of a road. No outdoor seating, so feel free to text your order for pick up once they open! Service: The staff here are friendly and informative!“
