“Great food and would have been a wonderful dining experience. However, our initial experience upon arrival was not very welcoming. The hostess explained that we coukd be seated and served only in the bar area at one of the hi tables or the bar itself as we did not have reservations. We of course said, great no problem. Upon sitting at a hi table a server approached saying that we couldn't sit there without the hostess' approval, at which time we explained that she had done so. He refused to let it go, continued to argue with us about server assignments etc. Then he just walked away to go discuss with the hostess, who in turn came to explain weird situation and tell us that it was fine to remain at this table. The rude server continued to display attitude and disdain throughout our meal. Our main server Peter (?) Was actually very professional and attentive.“

“High quality eatery with chill casual beachy vibe in El Segundo with other beachside locations nearby. Classic hole in the wall with outstanding specials including fish tacos that absolutely rock at a fair price (especially on Wednesday when they offer a $3.00 per fish taco special that can'tbe beat) Worth the drive...and close to LAX. Great staff always going above and beyond to make customers happy. 2 thumbs all the way up.“

“The positives: The staff was very nice. The food was cooked up quickly and incredibly delicious. The pricing is fair for being in Cali and the amount you get. The negative: I truly hate when any business has news going on the tv. I don’t care what side you’re on but I don’t want to walk in and see Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc on. If I would have seen that Fox was on before I ordered I would have turned around and brought my business elsewhere. Businesses are there to provide business, not to be politically devisive.“

“This is the best counter order restaurant in the US. The Mediterranean steak salad is my go to, but everything on the menu is exceptional.

They make the best bread I've ever had. I'm Gluten free but the rosemary olive oil sourdough bread they make all day long is to die for.“

“This is the closest to where I live. Overall, it is a good spot. I still wish Rubio's would bring back taquitos and street tacos. Those were my favorites.

Sometimes, the AC doesn't work which is not good but that is not the restaurant's fault. I was told that the building shares the AC with the other adjoining restaurants. The owner of the building controls the AC - so this note is for the owner, fix this problem!!!

As to this most recent visit, my only complaint was there didn't seem to be as much shrimp in the salad as it use to be. Otherwise, it tasted great!

One other thing I noticed in my recent visit, is the outdoor seating no longer has the umbrellas! Was that something the owner of the building decided? The sun hits that side and it can be most unpleasant. It would be great if there was some coverage (OWNER - take note!).“

“What a fantastic dining experience! We were so well taken care of, and the food was amazeballs! Definitely top of my list as my new favorite seafood restaurant. Elijah, the bartender was awesome and Katie went out of the way to make sure we had a lovely time. What an evening… I highly recommend this place.“

“The fish bar is in a great location the bartender Rose makes amazing drinks she friendly & attentive. She knows you by name. The food was great atmosphere is relaxed all the staff treats you like family. Highly recommend!“

“The food was very good. I dined solo and had chicken liver mousse, the yellowtail crudo, the peach and tomato burrata salad, and the crab cake. The mousse was rich and interestingly paired with pickled blackberries and honeycomb. The crudo was delicious with the refreshing citrus. The salad too felt very fresh and like I was holding on to late summer. The crab cake was good, the sauce had a nice balance of spice and sweetness, it was very salty which is not unexpected with crab. The service was kind and attentive. I was very pleased with my experience and would return again if I'm back in Santa Monica.“

The sea bass fillet was absolutely delicious—the fish itself was perfectly cooked, and the garnish complemented it beautifully, even though it included fried onions, which I normally wouldn’t expect to pair so well with fish.

“Excellent service, amazing lobster 🦞 with crab rice. I just wish I was given the prices before agreeing on the upgrade. I ordered a family for 2 and CJ server offered to make it 3ppl. I was kinda surprised with my bills and how the restaurant dictate the gratuity %….Overall, I love dining in this restaurant because we were welcome and were given a great and warm reception. Thank you to the staff who made us feel special especially to CJ she was amazing. Indeed, the most expensive meal I have eaten lol it’s worth it.“

“Dude absolutely freaking delicious. This is my 3rd time coming to this place. And every time I come, I am craving the cocktail with shrimp and octopus. It taste so fresh and so home made.

The place is always crowed with people ordering. It's a small establishment, but very well organized, super clean and with air conditioning on which keeps it cool inside. Next time, I am going to try the shrimp tacos, as many order them.“

“The sushi here is amazing for the price!! And the katsu chicken was also so delicious !! I would suggest checking out yama!! The reason why I gave it a 4 stars and not a 5 star is because the space is super small, and it does get overwhelming! I had a rude experience with a customer, they don’t know how to say excuse me lol. (I got the Cali roll with the salmon avocado roll!) I also asked for eel sauce:)!!“

“Amazing view!! Delicious Polynesian Sea Bass. Visited LA for 4 nights and my best meal!!! Walkable area with beach and bike path. Will come back and stay in this area! Restaurant prices are not too high in comparison to other restaurants that aren’t as good.“

“The food was absolutely delicious. The service on the other hand needs improvement One in our party of 4 had their drink served 20 min after the rest. It was a martini but came with no olives when olives were asked for. It seemed the waiter had too many tables and the lack of good service really distracted from the overall dining experience“

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“The location is great being right on the beach and has a great atmosphere. As a heads up it can be a little loud inside. The rockfish crudo was very good and light, the snap peas were great, and so were the prawns. We also got the mussels which unfortunately had have that had not been opened (or so very little you could not even use a fork). They were able to make us a half batch to remedy this. Overall the location/buzz does much of the heavy lifting.“

“Seafood quality is better than supermarket quality, and of course this means you’ll pay more for it. The cafe food is great but very pricey coming from someone visiting from out of state. We got the poke bowl, the calamari and clam chowder, the lobster roll, and the Dungeness crab pasta. There is also a good selection of alcohol and Asian sauces as well as vegetables.“

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! “I took my husband for Father’s Day brunch/lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant here in the Palisades and as always it did not disappoint. It never does. He loved his steak and eggs, steak was Devine and I loved my chick pea soup. Always have the panne cotta and the cherry gelato and an espresso in their delightful patio and you’ve been to Italy!“

It's sparkling shiny and looks eat off the floor clean. The food is fast food priced and is not just a great value in a taste test with nearby El Tarasco that looks more local than this franchise ready busy choice. The taste here is the clear winner. You get less food but for half the price. Mahi Mahi fish taco compared to just the fish of the day at nearby Fiesta.“

“The first time I ever had a lobster roll was here. I AM GLAD it was here. Maybe it was just the bartenders turn at the music I dont know. They were playing mid 90's 2000's rock the whole time, banger after banger! I was looking for a quiet place to eat, but this place took me by surprise so I stayed. The Lobster roll was amazing, warm and Buttery. NOT CHEWY! Beer selection was awesome too. You gotta try the crab and jalapeen dip, also the calamari was delicious. I will be coming back! If you want the dive bar feel with fun employees this is the place.“

“This is my second time here. The first time I came was a month ago and meant to leave a review . The sevice was outstanding. A young gentleman name Andrew went above and beyond to provide exceptional service . He was very nice, professional and overall a very happy person who loved his job. Its employees like this that makes a business successful! Its because of Andrew is why I came back today since I was in the area . I had several options of restaurants to choose from and chose to come back to Blue Salt Fish Grill. Today, the sevice was even better because a new trainee, Ayyaub was here with Andrew and had outstanding service . The manager here has done a great job in hiring great employees. “Hands down the best tacos I’ve ever had. And I’m really picky with food and have high standards but this place is absolutely incredible. Tortillas are freshly made and all tacos I had were so uniquely flavorful. I got 3 at first and had to get another 2 and the guy gave me an extra chile relleno taco to try. So freaking nice. “This is my 2nd trip here and the food never disappoints. The service though is the only knock on this place. The servers are polite but the food comes out soooooo slow. I ordered the marlin tacos and the pescado zarandeado. I devoured the marlin tacos they were so good and shared the pescado with the table.“

“Amazing seafood bbq. The prix fixe set comes with a lot of extras. We ordered the Master Set for 5 of us. We also ordered sea eel and live octopus separately. There’s good parking behind the restaurant. Front of restaurant was a lot of homeless people unfortunately.“

The lobster roll needed a little seasoning but overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Hard to find parking and it’s not a big place(just the type of area). I’m going back for the New Orleans Oyster ALONE 😋!“

“the service was spectacular. really fun group of servers... food = excellent - exception: chicken appetizer a little greasy/ excessively fried but everything else: salmon, hamachi, avocado fries, duck tacos, etc. was great. a little too loud at first due to boisterous group in the bar right next to our table. acoustics are not great for conversation when the bar is hopping. this is my second time and I will come back.“
