“There's a hidden treasure in back of Playa Provisions. In the front door and keep walking straight, past the ice cream, and the restrooms then down a dark hall. There you'll find a door the leads into one of the best bars in the city, Grain. On a recent visit I opted for the 'Bartenders Special' saying only that I liked Rye. Omar prepared a cocktail for me that was a riff on a Greenpoint, which is itself a riff on a Manhattan that was the best cocktail I have had in a long time. Be sure not to miss their food themed cocktails, unique and delicious. Highly recommended!“

“This bar is awesome! We heard that it was the smallest bar in LA and expected to be greeted by regulars who resented our presence. We experienced the complete opposite. The bartender Pete immediately recognized my Midwest accent and engaged myself and my 2 adult children in conversation. The locals at the bar were also very engaging. Many reviews I have read described it as a dive. I completely disagree with that assessment. It is a local bar that is very welcoming to any patron. Keep in mind it is cash only! Looking forward to going back!“

“Booked a reservation here for my husband’s birthday and let me tell you all - It did not disappoint! We came in and brought us to our seats right away.

We ordered the tasting menu for 2. From the bone broth to the cafe panna cotta — SPEECHLESS, my husband and I loved every bit of it. The flavors were AMAZING.

Also they cook their steak warm red & at first I was hesitant because I love my steak medium well, but this one !! It was so soft and well-seasoned. So delicious!

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“The quality of the food was not good at all. My steak was overcooked and heavily seasoned I had no choice but to send it back. The waitress took so long to come back and check on us after our food arrived by time she came back my friend already finished his meal. They need to revamp the menu and get a better chef. This is a very average place for steak. The music place was great though. I would skip the restaurant and convert into a night club!“

“Saltie Girl is still top 5 in LA. Always relaxed, very inviting, the courses were served timely. Oysters were delicious, love their mignonette, crudo full of flavor with a hint of spice, and caviar service unmatched. Love coming here for a mid-day wkd Spritz. A chef stepped out with a dish and was taking photos outside, and on his way back we asked if it was new. He offered us the plate and told us it's coming onto the fall menu in a couple weeks. “Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!“

“We had a very nice dinner here inside on a Tuesday night. I loved the whiskey cocktail which is brought smoking to your table. We shared the cheese plate and gen ceasar and the servings are quite large and perfect for sharing. The BBQ scottish salmon is a real standout and the fries and blistered spinach great sides. They also have a very nice selection of wines by the glass. The staff is very attentive and we enjoyed the night thoroughly.“

“Everything I ordered at Guac Daddy was so fresh and delicious! The Deluxe Box is perfect when you want a little bit of everything. It comes with two tacos, a quesadilla, a vampiro, a mulita, plus totopos and guac. I also had the hibiscus rose drink and finished with the churros, which were the perfect sweet ending. Great portions, bold flavors, and not a single disappointing bite. I’ll definitely be back!“

“The Butcher’s Daughter is one of those places I know I can come back to and always have a great experience. Located in the Melrose/West Hollywood area, it has such a beautiful aesthetic. The decor has this really warm, bohemian feel with lots of natural light, greenery, and an overall relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile.

The food is all vegetarian, so if you’re looking specifically for meat options, this isn’t the place. BUT I will say everything is DELICIOUS. They do have vegan + gluten free options available as well, which makes it a great option for groups with different dietary preferences. Everything we ordered was really good, fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared.

The service was another highlight. The servers were genuinely kind, attentive, and accommodating. We had a larger group of more than 7 to 10 people, and they were able to accommodate us, which I really appreciated. Getting a larger group together can sometimes be a headache, so having a restaurant that can make it feel easy is a big plus.

Overall, I really enjoy the combination of the food, atmosphere, and service here. The space is beautiful during the day when all the natural light comes in, and the bohemian decor gives it a very relaxed but still stylish vibe.

If you’re looking for a pretty, welcoming spot with great vegetarian food, good service, and a fun atmosphere, The Butcher’s Daughter is definitely worth checking out. It’s one of those places that consistently delivers a good experience, and I’d happily come back again.“

“The food was absolutely delicious. The service on the other hand needs improvement One in our party of 4 had their drink served 20 min after the rest. It was a martini but came with no olives when olives were asked for. It seemed the waiter had too many tables and the lack of good service really distracted from the overall dining experience“
