“I’ve been to Felix multiple times over the years, and in general, I think it’s a fantastic restaurant with consistently high-quality food. That’s why this review is disappointing to write.

The last two pasta dishes I’ve ordered have been underwhelming. My previous visit, the carbonara fell short, and this time the cacio e pepe was even more disappointing.

The cacio e pepe was overwhelmingly peppery, lacked the rich, creamy Pecorino Romano flavor that defines the dish, and tasted like it had little to no cheese. It was nothing like a proper cacio e pepe should be. I had just returned from Italy a few weeks ago, where I ate authentic cacio e pepe at small local trattorias, so I know exactly how beautifully simple and balanced this dish can be. Unfortunately, Felix’s version completely missed the mark. Considering the restaurant’s reputation and premium prices, I expected much more.

To make matters worse, the service at the bar was disappointing. Not once during the meal did anyone ask how the food was or whether everything was okay. A simple check-in could have given us the opportunity to share our concerns while we were there.

I genuinely hope the team takes this feedback constructively because Felix is still a great restaurant overall, and I’ve had many excellent meals here. That’s exactly why these last two visits have been so surprising. I hope they address these issues and bring the pasta back to the standard that made Felix such a standout in the first place.“

“Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!“

It was a martini but came with no olives when olives were asked for. It seemed the waiter had too many tables and the lack of good service really distracted from the overall dining experience“

“As always, the food was amazing. Every dish was good. Highly recommend the Crostini, Parker house rolls, and octopus for appetizers. Salmon was cooked perfectly, the scallops and pesto pasta light and bright, the bolognese pasta tasty and not to heavy, and the sea bass was melt in your mouth. My all time favorite is the chili and lime avocado salad. Service not only from our server, but all the other workers, including the hostess that seated us were all incredible,“

“Went to coucou with a friend to celebrate my birthday. This is on Main Street and there's parking on thr street and there's an underground parking lot on Navy with great service and a flat rate of $9/hr.

The place is small and I went around 6pm so right after happy hour so it was a bit loud but it calmed down after. There is a 3 for $33 deal that is pretty amazing for happy hour. Pretty much all the appetizers. You are allowed to pick 1 drink and 2 food items. I got the classic aperol, it had a little too much aperol for my taste but still good and refreshing.

We got the Zucchini bingets and they were tasty, cheesy. Almost like a fritter but not so much. Also got the fries as well. They were good.

I got the mussels marinere with the coconut cream sauce and honestly I love when places offer mussels in a different kind of sauce than just white wine and garlic. The toast was perfection. My friend got the grilled chicken Paillard and she liked it, came with a side of red sauce. I'll be back for the happy hour to try the apps with seafood. I didn't get w chance to since my friend doesn't eat it. They even gave me a the chocolate mousse with a candle.“

“This bar is awesome! We heard that it was the smallest bar in LA and expected to be greeted by regulars who resented our presence. We experienced the complete opposite. The bartender Pete immediately recognized my Midwest accent and engaged myself and my 2 adult children in conversation. The locals at the bar were also very engaging. Many reviews I have read described it as a dive. I completely disagree with that assessment. It is a local bar that is very welcoming to any patron. Keep in mind it is cash only! “There's a hidden treasure in back of Playa Provisions. In the front door and keep walking straight, past the ice cream, and the restrooms then down a dark hall. There you'll find a door the leads into one of the best bars in the city, Grain. On a recent visit I opted for the 'Bartenders Special' saying only that I liked Rye. Omar prepared a cocktail for me that was a riff on a Greenpoint, which is itself a riff on a Manhattan that was the best cocktail I have had in a long time. Be sure not to miss their food themed cocktails, unique and delicious. Highly recommended!“

Food is fresh and seasoned beautifully and cooked with Obvious love. Staff was wonderful you ordered a selection of tacos and every single one was spectacular. “We just held our company holiday party at The Corner Door and had the best time!

We were a group of about 40 and from the very beginning, Liz made the entire process so easy and stress free. She was always available with quick replies to questions, flexible with any requests we had made, and genuinely excited to have us and was just wonderful. I got to meet Zach the night of the event and he was exactly the same way. They both understand hospitality and made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The staff that night made amazing drinks and the food was delicious. On top of that, the room itself is already a beautiful space, but when we walked in and saw it decked out in the holiday lights, we knew right away we made the perfect choice in Corner Door. Everyone remarked on what a great time they had so thanks Corner Door for making it so special! We will be back!“

“Everytume we go out around a Holiday, can be precarious. Restaurant only had a couple of parties . One guy at the counter bar. Right where're we requested our seating at reservation. Obviously, no one read the request and didn't care. Got the eye roll gesture body language. Typically, the Restaurant is on top of it. Still the fish tacos are outstanding and chicken nachos Loved the food. We've been patrons since Hudson House open and always will be!!“

“The Washington is one of those spots that makes you feel like you've stumbled onto a hidden gem. It's got that cozy, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for date night or just catching up with a friend over a drink. The cocktails are excellent- thoughtful, creative, and made with care (not just thrown together like you find at so many places). Our bartender treated that drink like a piece of art!

It's very much a locals' bar, and that's what makes it special. You can actually have a conversation without shouting over the music, and the staff makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place you want to keep coming back to.

“This place is great for game watching and hanging out with friends. There is 65 foot screen to watch on. Food is good and reasonably priced. The servers are friendly and food comes up fast. Iverall great atmosphere. I highly recommend it.“

“Called in for an early dinner and struck the 5pm Happy Hour. Lovely spot sitting outside sheltered from the sun but enjoying a light breeze.
Hibiscus margarita recommended by my waitress was very nice. Tacos and nachos were delicious although the nachos alone are probably enough for a meal. Regardless I ate both, and enjoyed them immensely. With the standard tax plus tip, even at Happy Hour prices, I wouldn’t call it cheap, but I would say the quality of the food makes it good value.
