“I used to come here all the time for years and this was my first time back since the pandemic..

I had some lemon pepper wings which were good.. But that was the only food I had so can't really talk about food so much..
The drink menu was a lot different than it was under the previous ownership.. but I opted for wine so I can't speak to any of the mixed drinks.

They still have the music which is pretty much the only reason I ever went. I caught the tail end of the led zeppelin cover band which is totally not my thing.. Never been a fan of heavy metal...it's s very loud for no reason but the audience clearly came to see them and loved them..

After them comes the reggae, which is what I came for and in times past it was an entire band which is what I thought I was going to go see, but it was only one guy doing music.. And for it to only be one guy, it took him a long time to get set up and started..

Solo guy wasn't really my thing, you can't really bring it like a band can..We stayed for one song and left..

The inside atmosphere is pretty much the same as it's always been, you know. Lots of cool people having a good time but the music selection for this time around just wasn't for me...

My suggestion would be to update the Facebook page with who the artists are for each weekend to save people the hassle who don't want to come here's certain bands or people.. Maybe try like some of the restaurants like Spagettini and Kobe's and have a music menu calendar so it's clear to people who they're coming to see..
A good R & B cover band would be a good addition to the music rotation..

On a side note, there has been a older gentleman that I have seen come there for years..he totally gives hippie who was at woodstock and had one too many shrooms, he pretty much stands in one spot and jumps around but it was good to see that he's still alive and well and doing the same thing!!

But for those wondering how it is under the new management it's still the exact same thing.. Good people, good vibes, and it's at the beach so, you will have a good time no matter what.“

Kudos to the owners, management, and entire staff for creating such a fantastic dining experience. The food was excellent, the service polished yet genuinely friendly, and the bar and dining room had a charming, welcoming atmosphere.

The menu is thoughtfully crafted, with plenty of delicious options. The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and personable—always a combination I appreciate.

One thing I always check when trying a new restaurant is the condition of the restrooms. In my experience, clean bathrooms often reflect a well-run kitchen. Felix Trattoria checked that box as well.

“Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!“

“I performed a Blues concert there this week in their large music hall & library with bar which adjoins a very busy bar room playing old school
recorded R&B. It's a lively and fun place to hang. There's cocktails, beer, music and pool tables. A diverse friendly crowd. They let you Postmate or bring food. There's even an outdoor patio.“

“This bar is awesome! We heard that it was the smallest bar in LA and expected to be greeted by regulars who resented our presence. We experienced the complete opposite. The bartender Pete immediately recognized my Midwest accent and engaged myself and my 2 adult children in conversation. The locals at the bar were also very engaging. Many reviews I have read described it as a dive. I completely disagree with that assessment. It is a local bar that is very welcoming to any patron. Keep in mind it is cash only! “The Washington is one of those spots that makes you feel like you've stumbled onto a hidden gem. It's got that cozy, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for date night or just catching up with a friend over a drink. The cocktails are excellent- thoughtful, creative, and made with care (not just thrown together like you find at so many places). Our bartender treated that drink like a piece of art!

It's very much a locals' bar, and that's what makes it special. You can actually have a conversation without shouting over the music, and the staff makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place you want to keep coming back to.

“We ordered first from the happy hour menu, then the bar menu. Everything delicious! Margarita was one of the best I’ve had - no filler juices!

Scallops perfectly cooked. Seafood sausage was a little non-descript in flavor and would have benefited being accompanied by steak knives. The French fries done in bacon fat were amazing. Brussels sprout preparation was a refreshing and delicious change from what’s offered at most restaurants / shredded and tossed in Caesar flavored dressing, topped with bread crumb / cheese crust.

And the Tuesday special - the chicken pot pie! Run don’t walk. Perfectly seasoned and lots of great chicken flavor. And the pastry crust topping / thin and crispy tender. Just exceptional! (From someone who makes her own — maybe I’ll stop making it when I can order such a good one!)“

“Although I didn't end up dining here, I did stop by while exploring Manhattan Beach and was impressed by the location. The restaurant sits in an incredible spot right near the water, with beautiful ocean views and one of the best sunset settings in the area.

We initially planned to eat here but decided on a different type of cuisine at the last minute. Even so, the atmosphere alone left a positive impression. The outdoor area looked inviting, and there were plenty of people enjoying the view and relaxing by the beach.

The surrounding area felt clean, comfortable, and very enjoyable to walk around. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend an evening taking in the scenery, whether you're dining or simply passing through. Based on the location and overall vibe, it's definitely somewhere I'd consider trying on a future visit.

We were a group of about 40 and from the very beginning, Liz made the entire process so easy and stress free. She was always available with quick replies to questions, flexible with any requests we had made, and genuinely excited to have us and was just wonderful. I got to meet Zach the night of the event and he was exactly the same way. They both understand hospitality and made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The staff that night made amazing drinks and the food was delicious.
