“We came here in 1980,81,82. It was a one room cabin . Bar with 3 bar stools- one behind the bar. An old 50'S fridge, 6 pack nehih soda, 6 pack beer(I think Olimpa). The elderly man had to be 80 plus. We chatted a bit with him. The cabin behind had an outside shower. I think he said primitive over 100 years. Dirt road in. Single lanes mostly. And you couldn't get in there in winter. Snow! Memories going there were great.”

“Professional staff members! Very welcoming, spotless, and cozy! I like watching winter sports on a big screen TV while snow was falling outside while seated on the couch in the back room. It's amazing how the mountain range looks while you're eating!”

“It's you average run of the mill Starbucks. It's nothing to write home about. But the workers tend to be nice, and prompt. It's in a grocery store so it's easy to get to when your inside shopping.

“We use their coupons about once a month & usually order the Chicken Bacon Artichoke and the All Meat. The Chicken Garlic is also very good. After paying online, we just pop in to the shop & our pizzas are always ready for pick-up, on time. Never a bad experience.”

“How an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant came to be right on the edge of Hwy 50 in Polock Pines California is a mystery. But the food was excellent, plentiful, affordable, and well presented on an outside deck overlooking a misty Sierra valley. I'll be back, you should go too.”

“Great restaurant with a Hawaiian flare! I greatly enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and my hubby enjoyed the breakfast burrito. The breakfast potatoes are extremely crispy and delicious.”

“It's amazing how this small kitchen manages to make such delicious meals! My girlfriend and I had the Beef Brisket and the Pulled Pork Tacos with a side of Pingo and absolutely enjoyed our time here!

The beef was my favorite! It was so tender and flavorful and went well with the crispy onions.

“Great history of this restaurant as a one-time pony express stop, hotel and restaurant. Beautiful, 8historic decor, tall pine posts and warm wooden walls. Long wooden bar. Great experience.

Vegetarian options: You can certainly choose vegetarian options from an extensive menu. Generous portions.

Parking: Paved parking lot as well as parking spaces out front of the restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Great history of this restaurant as a one-time pony express stop, hotel and restaurant. Beautiful decor, tall pine posts and warm wooden walls. Long wooden bar.

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible through front foyer with some assistance in opening foyer and restaurant doors. Easy to get around in main restaurant, but I have a small, foldable wheelchair and it was easily stowed against a nearby wall. I opted to sit in a chair with our fanily. The restroom and very accessible. There are outside seating on the patio, but it was not available at the time we were there.”

“I LOVE this place! Though it may seem small, it makes up for that tenfold in heart. The person working the bakery window was so kind, and the slices of fresh pie were heated up for us, so how could we say no to a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top?! I enjoyed the berry and apple slice, and I also bought a frozen pie of the same variety to take home. Their selection of goods in the shop and frozen items is terrific!”
