Mashed avocado, toasted red pepper flakes and blistered teardrop tomatoes topped with sunflower seeds, pickled red onions and micro greens on thick toasted multigrain bread.

Azalea sandwich - HARD PASS FOR ME next time
Smoky chipotle sauce, fried egg, Pepper Jack cheese, caramelized onions, black forest ham, crisp bacon and pico de gallo on a toasted ciabatta.

Black Heart Latte
New recipe made with *black sesame paste,* simple syrup and a little charcoal to keep the same spirit of the original.

“This was my first time visiting this cafe, as my friend who lives in Winnetka recommended it after hearing positive reviews. The coffee itself was great! Although, I had a hard time enjoying the turkey sandwich that I ordered. For 9 bucks, I feel as though the sandwich was lacking, especially as the avocado was not distributed evenly and ended up falling out after my first bite. Maybe next time, I’ll get the egg bagel. But overall vibe was nice and the employees were friendly.“

“What a lovely place! The coffee latte was tasty, the atmosphere is very relaxing, and the service is very friendly. Good wi-fi too! What took it over the top for me was to have a yogurt parfait with granola and fresh berries, MADE TO ORDER. It was so fresh, with just the right amount of honey, and had a crunchy granola (not the soggy kind you get from places that sell it pre-made). That was a nice touch. Thank you! My only hope is that they will bring some gluten-free options to their pastry and sandwich selection.“

Most shudder at the idea, but this coffee is rich and absolutely delicious--- and the strength, which is a relative term, only increases the enjoyment. Starbuck's, for example, is strong, as well, but it can be bitter and harsh. Not so wide WE beans! Quite the opposite. It's a grand place to sit and relax, and the atmosphere is cordial and inviting. It is now our favorite "coffee haunt."“

“Travelled from Nova Scotia, Canada recently for an event. Love hunting down good coffee and good vibes. Rented a car for the day and stumbled on Awkward Coffee. Based on the name alone I knew we had to go. Very friendly staff, great selection of specialty drinks and sweet treats. Got to sample their new strawberry cold foam while we were waiting as well 🫣 I would make the trip from Nova Scotia again just to go back and visit this shop. “I used to go to the OG location in North Hollywood so I was thrilled when this location opened up. If you love tea, their selection is awesome and they’ll do their own blends that are super refreshing. Their pastry selection is on point and I love that they’ll make breakfast sandwiches. It’s a bummer there isn’t much space to stick around and enjoy your beverage while you work or something, so don’t expect a big space. But it’s still delightful and I’m so glad there’s a good coffee shop in the area that isn’t a giant corporation.“

How the ordering process worked was explained I selected the Chia Tea, such amazing notes and crafted to my expectations. I was asked to sample the taste before placing my lid. “Did this location used to be a Starbucks? Yes, and you feel its ghost when you walk in, but now the shop has become something BETTER.

Nothing against Starbs, but their mass-premade breakfast sandwiches can’t hold a candle to the breakfast sandwiches here; Stringy, melty cheese, savory sausage or crispy bacon, and an aioli that elevates the whole thing! And that blueberry streusel muffin is FIRE!

Luis, Desiree and Gio have made me feel right at home the past couple of times I’ve been here, the space is open and bright and they got great vibes playing over the sound system.

Did I mention they sell coffee too? Excellent flavors. So far I’ve have their horchata latte and dulce de leche; customize as you like. EXCELLENT!

This place deserves to be busy and I will be mowing my way through their menu. You should too.“

“I've been here twice now and asked both times for no sugar in my beverages and they've been very nice and accommodating. I'm insulin resistant/Pre-diabetic and avoid sugar/added sugars. The young lady who works there was nice enough to inform me of the sugars in the matcha and suggested something else that was similar and sub zero sugar vanilla. It was very kind of her to do that for me. 😊💖“
