“This place is a hole in the wall and would go unnoticed except for the excellent fish and chips. I had the seafood sampler. The fish was done well and not greasy. Price was reasonable. Staff was friendly . Place is super clean. I'll be back.“
“Very nice family owned fish and chip shop. It's a small chain take out and eat in restaurant. Very good fish n chips and some vegetarian chooses. I recommend it unless you don't like fried foods. Very fast service as well. Long live ye olde Tug Boat fish n chipper.“
“When I used to live down here in the Sac area, I used to have fish and chips all the time, but now I live way up in the north end of the valley and we don't have many places that are dedicated fish and chips restaurants. Tugboat is a small chain in the Sac area and has some of the best fish and chips around. The prices have gone up some since I last ate here. I got a 3 piece fish and chips order for around $15. Gone are the days of the $8.00 3 piece order! The fish was hot and crispy like I remembered .Not really greasy at all. I like to come get fish and chips when I visit the area now. I'll be beck!“
“Good food and VERY good service! I must have gotten up 5-6 times asking for things and they never once lost their cool with me. If I had cash on me I would have left a tip!! I got the fried fish and shrimp combo and it was so good. I had to exchange the street corn for beans (which were good) because the corn was too spicy but they didn't get mad they just exchanged it. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries and they were good too. I will go back and get the shrimp again!!! I like their tartar sauce too, it's wasn't too sweet and not too much dill.“
“Very good pub! My fiance and I came here for st paddy's yesterday and enjoyed every bit of it!It was very crowded but was to be expected for the holiday. We still somehow managed to find seating. The ambience was very home-y, I loved the wooden booths and historic artwork. I'm a big history person so I loved it!! Much better than most pubs I've ever been to, with very fast service even with the amount of people there. Fish was delicious with a soft bun. Fries were hot. Shepherds pie was good just a little salty. Pretzel was good, cheese sauce was okay. Overall had a good experience here! Will definitely be back! :)“
“Update 2/23/2024I am a little disturbed as they added kiosk order(now forced), however there was an employee liaison assisting people who may have trouble. My outlook on kiosks:*People take this as "Do it yourself as we are either not staffed to do this or other things are more important than you".*I don't see this as service oriented.*Menu is fragmented on a screen and buttons all over which makes it tough to order for most.*McDonald's has kiosks, but nobody uses them.Example: 70+ lady walks up and tries to order. She has issues and has a ton of questions, this takes time. In the meantime you have a line backed up plus another user at the same time, with kiosk issues. Now what you have is a problem. Another one of your employees needs to be brought over to help now. Now everything is backed up.I know what the answer will be from your establishment. " We have backup, we will then take order manually"I get it, less employees brings more money to the budget, but in the long run it will not as service to customers is compromised and a reputation will prevail in the long run.I did kindly ask the manager why kiosks. She replied and we spoke. What dates out to me about that conversation is that her words were "People don't want to work for $20 per hour". Strange comment. Oh well. I have given up going there. Done with coaching.Let's get back to good ole excellent customer service. Bring that vision back. This is sorely needed.End of latest update-------------------------------------Great place, great service. Most "Most of the employees" are great.Bring the salsa bar back please.Fish is always consistent and fair prices. Gourmet food for less and a ton of options.Good job California Fish Grill!“
“was doing a delivery service and someone canceled an order so the owner and it was the wife who offered it to me was gracious enough to give it to me without cost period I accepted and experienced the best tasting fried zucchini I've ever had and I consider myself quite the cook when it comes to that and I have been hooked ever since so I go regularly sometimes 2 or 3 times a week for their fried fish and zucchini OMG the best in town guaranteed. Lots of options. They help fit your needs. They are BOTH KIND and Hardworking people. GOD bless, Rose“
“It's hard to find cajun/soul food/fish fry in my area. So when I realized Ray's was close I got excited. I went yesterday on my birthday with my 2 daughters and my mom. We ordered to go. I was a bit nervous because with all the lights I had to catch on the way home, I was afraid our food was gonna get cold, the fries would be sweaty, etc.It was a pleasant surprise to see that EVERYTHING was still HOT, and NOT soggy, sweaty and soft. My red snapper (haven't had in over a decade) was 2.DIE.4. The fries were still crunchy. My garlic noodles were AMAZING. (Now I know where to go to get my garlic noodle fix on the low.) The potato salad had a hella unique kick to it. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was slammin'.My oldest ordered a roasted seafood platter called "Had To Have It" (I hope I said that right). Oh my GLOB. It was SPLENDID.Thank you for existing, Ray! You're gonna get tired of me and my family after while, but we LOVE your food! You took us back to THE BAY! YEE!Wish I made time to take pics, but the food was way too good to pause for anything.“
“The last time I had Superb Burger I may have been in high school, so having it today was exciting. The food was good! The fish and chips were tasty, the fish was large and flavorful. My husband said the cheeseburger was big and juicy. He loved the portions of the tomatoes and how cheesy it was overall. The service was good; very friendly staff. The restaurant was clean.“
“We stopped into Tugboat today for some quick fish and chips. It was a lot bigger inside than I thought it would be, with booths lining the side with windows. Originally it was the painted windows that caught my eye and we're always excited to try a new spot. When I walked in I was greeted right away and I ordered the two fish-fish and chips ($11.99) and some lumpia ($9.99). I snapped some photos as I waited and it was out within five to ten minutes and it was HOT and FRESH! When I got to the car we immediately wanted to try a bite and it was seriously so fresh and hot. After that first bite we decided to let it cool down and all of it was delicious. We'll definitely be stopping by again to try more of the options from the menu, but the fish and chips and lumpia are worth getting again.“
“I ordered take out. I ordered 2 pieces of fish with chips. The fish is so good. The pieces are big. I couldnt finish my second piece. The chips are just right...not too skinny not to large. Worth the 12$ for the amout of food you get cause it filled me up. It is definetly one of my favorite places to eat.“
