We usually get takeout because it's just nicer to eat at home and the dining room is fairly dated, plus it's only open for lunch since the pandemic. “We have been looking for good Chinese food since the Beijing closed in Modesto and have found it at Grand Asia. The atmosphere is charming with plenty of comfortable booths. The waitress was a lot of fun and was happy to explain some of the ingredients we were unfamilir with. Best of all, the food was excellent, piping hot and served very quickly. The ingredients were fresh and really good quality. We enjoyed honey walnut shrimp, their house specialty combo of kung pao chicken, and combo chow mein. Our praise to the chef! “It has been a few months since ive been here but this place is great! When I tell you, the egg rolls are a MUST HAVE, that is not an overstatement. They are cheap yet huuugeee and soo tasteful!! the miso soup, I am not too much of a fan specifically just my taste it was very mushroomy and I don't like mushrooms. I did have the teriyaki plate and that was great. I wouldn't say it is authentic chinese food but it is pretty dang bomb for a fast food spot. I would definitely come back“

“This place is so good and clean! The prices you can't beat. Best chinese in east side Modesto. Its def a hole in the wall restaurant but that's the best kind of restaurants in my humble opinion. Garlic chicken and pork chow mein highly recommended. I just wished they had like a homemade chili sauce that would be epic! Thank you ?

“Looks like maybe a family owned restaurant. Chow mein noodles were thick which is what I like. Rice and sweet and sour pork was good as well. Service was good. Nice polite people their. Food takes a minute to get but it's worth it. It's not a fast food chain. Atmosphere could do with a bit updating but considering the overhead they have to pay and it's supporting their family. Id say their doing pretty well. Ladies working the counter were super friendly and nice. Definitely recommend this place. Decently priced as well. I got 3 meals 1 with 2 entrees honey walnut shrimp and sweet and sour pork with fried rice, another teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, white rice and 3rd was sweet and sour chicken with pork chow main and pork fried rice for $38 and some change and they give you quite a bit.“

“This was the Lover’s Boat at JP Asian Fusion in Modesto! It was such a pretty place on the inside, and it was so fancy! My 2 siblings and I shared what was on the boat while one of my brothers got the fried rice because he isn’t really into seafood haha The boat was definitely very beautiful, and I really liked how they even put some fish inside of a fancy cup at the end of the boat! The downside was that the three of us didn’t feel super full after splitting everything evenly, but that’s okay haha The fried rice was alright!“

“Stop complaining about small portions, the prices reflect the portions. Don’t expect a load of food for a cheap price. This place tastes very good the fried shrimp was excellent and the pork noodle soup was very tasty as well! A very good and rare meal for this truck driver! :)“

“I see some FAKE reviews below from the competition recently during the pandemic take-out period. I know business is tough, but that's not right. Escalon loves this place! Sad!Very consistent food offerings and very friendly staff. Before sheltering in place, was often full and with many waiting for take out. Fast preparation too (hence the name "Express". Reasonable prices. I've eaten here and I've never been disappointed. True, you can find better Chinese food at some establishments, but at a higher price. Try the Vegetable Shrimp, Lemon Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken...always work for me. They have some new flavored Boba teas. Haven't tried them myself, but I see women at lunch time ordering them often. My fav restaurant.“
