“Don't know about the food, haven't tried it yet. The menu prices are not accurate, everything is $2-3 higher than listed. All receipts are tallied on a calculator, with no detail as to what was ordered, how much or even taxes. Got kind of pissy when I asked for a breakdown.

$35 for two item order with steamed rice...for only one person.

Ok, got home and unpacked the food and I am changing my review to 4 stars. First, Golden Bowl gives you a LOT of food. Enough to feed at least four adults. And it's very fresh; excellent!!!
It's obvious the portions are for family-style serving. That said, I would suggest offering half orders, the criticism that they don't offer portions for single or even couples is justified. I would gladly pay $20 for half the food I just paid $35 for.

Still need to update the inaccurate menus and buy a cash register to detail the purchase. It just seems unethical. It might work in Asia, but not here. And don't get offended if someone questions the bill when your menu has the wrong prices and you provide no detail on the recept.“

“Absolutely delicious authentic flavors! Small mom and pop restaurant, very sweet couple. Definitely our new go to Chinese restaurant. The Garlic Chicken is better than anywhere I've ever had before we all loved the Honey Walnut Shrimp.“

“Okay so right when Jimmy's sushi took over the last Chinese food spot I decided to give it a shot ! & It was SO worth it ! The employees are awesome ( I believe it's father & son) they have FRESH ingredients & their hand rolls are top tier , but what really got me were their prices ! They have GREAT prices for quality sushi ! I've gotten the pleasure of trying their spicy tuna hand roll & the crispy tempura roll , both AMAZING! I really am so happy Modesto had a great sushi spot on this side of town ! I say absolutely give this place a shot ! You will not be disappointed 👍“

“Been coming here since i was a kid, i remember my parents getting off work and taking me here to buy food. Local business thats been around for YEARS! freshness made to order & quality. I also enjoy knowing its a family owned business and ive seen the family grow over the years of me being a customer. If you want real chicken and real food this is the place to come. expect REAL FOOD. And not perfectly shaped orange chicken pieces. The flavor of the food is perfect & the orange chicken & chow mein taste good!! even my 2 year old daughter eats it!! portions are big and essentially you are paying for quality.

“This place is great! We have eaten here a few times and it has always been very good. They are always super quick with the order. This time I needed something soft to eat for certain reasons, and they made me an off the menu Mapo tofu dish that was perfect and delicious. Can’t say enough good about this place. FYI, when getting an order of white rice to go with the meal, a large is a full size container of rice.“

It was very delicious, the orange chicken was cooked perfectly, it had a very nice crust, not too oily and the chicken inside was moist and delicious. The pork chow mein noodles were cooked very good, done just the way it should be. Seasoned very good, and not mushy at all. The rice was normal, yet still delicious. The eggroll was normal. Over all it was a very decent meal and I enjoyed it. It smelled clean and looked clean, I will definitely be coming back and I encourage you to give this spot a try. You want be disappointed!“

“We were a group of nine. First time I have ever seen where they add the tip and give you your final receipt without a line to mistakenly add another tip if you forgot to check! I only recently started looking for an added tip after getting burned at another restaurant. Now I make sure to check. I love their honesty!“

They are cheap yet huuugeee and soo tasteful!! the miso soup, I am not too much of a fan specifically just my taste it was very mushroomy and I don't like mushrooms. “We recently celebrated a few birthdays here, and every time was great. For a party of 8 we spent about $135 with purchasing drinks as well. So under 5 is free. After 3:30 is all you can eat I’d recommend going at these time. You basically choose from a buffet of meat, and vegetables they cook it for on a high wok it’s worth it!! And with my daughter being sensitive to shrimp, they cleaned the wok every time, and we’ve had no reactions like with other places!! They do delivery with DoorDash, but they stay packed cause the food is amazing!!!“

“I see some FAKE reviews below from the competition recently during the pandemic take-out period. I know business is tough, but that's not right. Escalon loves this place! Sad!Very consistent food offerings and very friendly staff. Before sheltering in place, was often full and with many waiting for take out. Fast preparation too (hence the name "Express". Reasonable prices. I've eaten here and I've never been disappointed. True, you can find better Chinese food at some establishments, but at a higher price. Try the Vegetable Shrimp, Lemon Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken...always work for me. They have some new flavored Boba teas. Haven't tried them myself, but I see women at lunch time ordering them often. “Went for lunch here today with my boyfriend. We went for the Chinese side of the cuisine and ended up both getting japanese food. He got tonkotsu and chicken teriyaki lunch plate and I got yaki udon. I really love udon so it was nice seeing it on the menu, the udon was super good and I felt the portion sizes for me was perfect. My boyfriend did feel like he could have had a little bigger portion sizes, but also cant complain because the price was not bad at all for what we got. I also tried his food and thought it was very good. We definitely would love to come back again.“

Then years later after finding out they changed names and ownership i was a little worried that the food wouldn't taste the same but ol boy was i wrong. The food is amazing and always fresh. I mean either wake up or get hip people this is definitely an underrated eatery. Owner is super nice always keeps the place nice and clean and the food hot and fresh. I highly recommend lucky house express. Yes they are covid friendly with protection barrier to keep food safe. Whether it be a quick bite for lunch or a big catering experience come on and try them out. There is always going to be the good and the bad in every post i do so here's the bad. The parking lot is full of grocery shoppers so some times you have to walk a few stalls to get there no biggie right? I mean we all love to eat, and when we find out that there's a place that's serving huge portions and has been consistently good for years why not try it.Keep up the great work guys and once again thanks for the great food.“

“I ordered over the phone for Pickup: Beef Vegetable Stir Fry and Chicken Fried Rice. Tasted good just as I expected. Only thing I don't like is the typical chinese restaurant puffy beef meat. Their chicken meat is not puffy, so it tasted better. If you cannot eat oyster sauce (e.g. due to allergies to crustaceans), make sure you tell them so and to substitute oyster sauce with soy sauce for the fried rice and substitute brown sauce with white sauce for the stir frys. That's what I did, and the nice lady who took my order made sure the food was done to my request. Pricing is good.“
