Ordered 3 burritos and 2 taco plates. Amazing food! Fantastic service. Chicken was flavorful and generous. “El Rey has been the only Mexican restaurant we go to ever since their early days of opening, and we go almost on a weekly basis. The food is amazing - we've loved everything we've tried, but our favorites are the lamb quesabirria, al pastor tacos, arrachera tacos, carnitas quesadilla for the kiddo, and the house-made chips. Whenever Pepe (the owner) is in, he'll stop by our table to chat and tell us about where he's gotten inspiration for his latest dishes - whether it's one of his family recipes or a traditional soup from Guadalajara. He'll also often give us samples of dishes he's testing, every one of which we've really enjoyed. The ingredients are high quality, and the tacos are simple but so flavorful. You can tell this restaurant really is a passion project for him.“

“Taco food truck.
They were friendly in their treatment and explained our questions about the menu. It is very economical and the price quantity is great!
We made a combo of tacos and a churro. Both the al pastor tacos and the chicken ones... they are all delicious.
The only bad thing is that there is nowhere nearby to take them, although they have a couple of chairs to wait for your order.
I recommend it!

“Do you love going to Flavortown? How about dreaming with your eyes open? Then try these birria tacos. The first time I had it was from leftovers that my daughter brought home for lunch. Then I drove from Oakley to San Mateo to have them fresh. It was AMAZING! They provide extra stuff to add to the tacos, but it honestly didn’t need them. The meat was so tender & flavorful that I had to close my eyes so I could fully appreciate the taste. Then I added the extras one by one & it tasted like a new taco each time. I know it seems like I’m exaggerating, but it’s really that good! My only wish is that they had seating nearby & a second location closer to Oakley.“

“El Tepa is a good one, but due to my busy schedule I haven't made it by until just now. My bad! It has friendly people, less crowding than many taquerias, and good food at a nice price. I suggest that you eat there!

“Came for the camarones a la diabla (“Devil’s Shrimp”), which they don’t have on the menu but are happy to make it for you. I actually enjoy theirs more than El Farolito! Also HIGHLY recommend their pastor tacos. Their salsa is top-notch, which I am very picky about. So lucky I live two minutes away!

“Food is excellent as we ordered tacos and a torta. We ordered the special namesake torta and it was very good and large. It had hot dogs on it and all sorts of other ingredients. But the winner was both the pollo and al pastor tacos with real good sauce and it was moist and delicious. I would recommend ordering it spicy as medium was very mild. It’s a food truck kitty corner from the see’s factory on El Camino. All the tortillas are made fresh on the spot.“

I have seen many locations across the bay area.

Food: Most of the foods are grilled or fried. All of them are tasty and fresh. Many fish choices, sauces, and sites to choose from. My favorite sauces are garlic butter and Cajun. The fish and chips are very good with tartar sauce. The grilled sea bass fish are very flavorful and would recommend having sauce on the side.

Price: very reasonable price for portions of food.“

Where the prominent and overrated Guadalajara ALWAYS gives me a stomach-ache no matter what I order, and El Farolito always skimps on avocado on it's own or in guacamole, Mama Mari's makes up for. Their food is always well seasoned, flavorful, and fresh and the staff are genuinely friendly. And the filling burritos are a great value for the quality! SOOO good!“
