My daughter is 5 and the day we had tea at the Fairmont was one of the best days. High tea was beautiful, the selections were grand and Mary Poppins and the piano man were on top of their game! A truly magical experience.
The Mary Poppins experience was amazing for my seven year-old daughter. She absolutely loved it. The tea, dessert and scones were delicious. The tea sandwiches were very disappointing.
A special place to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The dessert tray was amazing and the piano in the lobby was perfect to add to the ambience!

The staff is attentive and friendly, always ready to help guests with special requests, like retrieving a lost scorecard. The lounge's tea selection is small but good, with some unusual blends like goddess of mercy and Ontario icewine, which are very enjoyable. The food is fresh and tasty, featuring afternoon tea classics such as olive oil cake, chicken salad, and cucumber sandwiches, along with trendy items like Dubai chocolate cake and matcha cake. The sandwiches and desserts are praised as divine, and the piano player adds a magnificent touch to the atmosphere. While the WiFi in the bar has been reported as poor, overall, the experience is highly appreciated. Parking is mainly via valet, which adds time and expense, but the valet staff are efficient and friendly. The Grand Del Mar is celebrated as the best resort in Southern California, with spacious rooms, top-notch service, and beautiful grounds. Guests are especially pleased with the staff’s willingness to go above and beyond to make their stay memorable, such as using the resort's car service, where John is noted for his excellent service. Overall, the lounge provides a luxurious and enjoyable environment, perfect for special occasions like afternoon tea or celebrating a birthday.
