I went to this place when they first opened and had a bad experience. I didn't go back for several months, but thought I'd try this place again.I got the Big Tony, which isn't a traditional Italian sub, but it's big and tasty. Good sandwich, good service. Nothing to complain about.
Until I saw some recent reviews, I didn't realize that the previous Cheba Hut had been converted to this new eatery. Maui Wowie Shack has taken over and brought tropical decor to the suite. The space was adorned with a mix of Christmas holiday items and surfing paraphernalia. No permanent signage has been mounted yet outside the building. There was only one party seated when I arrived. Under new management, and the food is better. From the subs to the wings and the tenders with the dipping sauce hit the spot. Really enjoyed the new decor and the location is perfect, a block away from the beach.
