I picked this place when I wanted some Mexican food. When I entered the restaurant, I had a warm welcome from their staff, who also helped me find a table. I ordered a Tofu & Black Bean Torta and a vegan Black Bean Tacos. Once the staff took the order, I received some chips and salsa. Oh my, I loved the appetizing snack! Some inspired, creative dishes, and so delicious! This was the best dining experience during our week in San Diego. We had a shiitake & poblano quesadilla, tempeh battered like a fish in a taco, and more. Their 2 wonderful hot sauces are clearly homemade, distinctive, and delicious. Oh, and the chips have a wonderful corn flavor like a Frito but fresh and clean. And the enchilada tortillas have a different distinctive corn flavor! 6 out of 5 stars for flavor!

My family has been eating at Ranchos for over 30 years. We used to drive down to OB 3 x a week to eat there. It was the perfect place for authentic Mexican food with a ton of vegetarian options. When they opened another location in North Park years ago we were thrilled. They recently made some changes after all these years.
