Yokohama has been my favorite restaurant in San Diego since I moved here in 2019. They are known for their grilled meat and vegetable skewers… kushiyaki!If you’ve never been, I recommend an order of at least the following skewers: the first skewer on the specials menu, shumai meat dumplings (crowd favorite every time), chicken thigh with green onion, chicken meatball, chicken wings, beef short rib, pork belly, and shishito peppers. MAKE A RESERVATION!!We came here on a Tuesday night and it was so busy! We waited about 2 hours and finally our table was ready.. once we sat down the server informed us that they were out of a lot of items. It was about an hour before closing when we sat down.My friend and I ordered edamame, Ajitama (salted egg), Toriudon, the omelet and some yakitori meats. We call this our dining hall for a reason. You can't go wrong ordering anything and the drinks are amazing. We love the plum wine and chicken skewers. Easily top 5 restaurants in all of sd.
