“Great food and service. I highly recommend this place for date night, family and friends. The only downside is parking is hard to come by in this neighborhood.“

“Go here just for the amazing halal burgers. Service is as can be expected in a small sit in.
The burgers are worth ignoring the atmosphere.
It is neat clean and hygienic no doubt. Just not a dine in kinda restaurant.
I go often just for the way out delicious burgers“

“Easy online ordering, crispy crunchy delicious wings, fun flavors and affordable. Satay is BOMB. I would skip Chris’s and get more Lemon Pepper. Jerk wasn’t my fav, it was a bit too Christmas tasting for me and no heat. Slaw was really sweet if you like that… Want to perfect my order and make my way through all the flavors 😊“

“Been coming here since 2020, I absolutely love this location. Great food and beer selection. Its also nice to be able to sit outside and still get audio for whatever game is playing. The only thing I miss (and I do miss it dearly) are the roasted half chickens they used to do here.“

“Mashita Galbi Jjim, located on Polk Street in San Francisco, is a cozy Korean eatery known for its signature dish, the galbi jjim (braised short ribs). This dish, priced at $66, is a standout. It features tender short ribs served in a bubbling pot, accompanied by carrots, tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes), and a melted cheese topping caramelized with a blowtorch. It’s hearty and perfect for sharing, as one order easily feeds three to four people. The plump mandu (dumplings) are also recommended as a complementary side dish.
The atmosphere is informal, making it a great spot for casual dinners. However, the restaurant’s popularity can result in wait times, particularly during peak hours, such as evenings and weekends. Some patrons have noted slower service during busy periods but praised the staff's friendly demeanor despite being overwhelmed. The interior is compact but comfortable, with simple yet functional decor.
Mashita Galbi Jjim is praised for its authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. Other menu options include pork tonkatsu and beef plates, but the galbi jjim remains the star. For those seeking a satisfying, shareable meal with bold Korean flavors, this restaurant is a solid choice. If planning to visit during dinner hours, arriving early or expecting a wait is advised.
While some diners have commented on service challenges during peak times, the generous portions and flavorful dishes make it a must-visit for fans of Korean cuisine.“

“I ordered food to go from Doordash so can’t tell much about the in house experience but wow it didn’t disappoint. Food was fresh and tasted great. I got the Mexican pizza and the flavor was amazing. The lemon pepper chicken nuggets actually tasted like lemon and peppers for once. Great place and they are open until late to satisfy the late night cravings.“

“Food is excellent here. I ordered the famous fried chicken and deep fried flounder with the same sauce and green beans. It was delicious. I was with a party of 3 so we do share tables. If you’re not into that I would recommend takeout instead.“

“What a fantastic spot in the financial district! We were staying in town for a wedding, and this was such a great spot close to our hotel. Patrick (the owner) and his team were all a 10/10! Can’t wait to return.“

“I was grumpy that my people were dragging me here and I was WRONG. It. Was. AWESOME!! Food was great. Drinks were great. People were great. 10/10. Get the fried chicken. Or the wings. Or the rice bowl. Or the brussels sprouts. Or anything; they’re not here to disappoint.“

“Been coming since they first open and I know and read it’s hit or miss on service depends on the day and person working but for my years of experience I’ve always enjoyed it. As long they get the usual food I order right and on time, on top of that food and dessert is good than this place is a four star for me. They don’t need to check on us or serve us like kings or queens because it’s a Hong Kong dessert house people. It’s not Gary danko with a $$$$ sign. The price is good. I usually get the egg puff which is better than all egg puff location even eggette. The HK milk tea is good but not as good as honk kong, fried garlic chicken wings, soy sauce wings, ham egg sandwich and mix fruits. Oh their green tea ice cream is a no no but vanilla is fine. They use the same batter for the waffle as the egg puff which is so yummy! Moving on that’s my usual order which has kept me going here for years. Wish they open earlier but I know they cater to the late people.“

“It’s nice little spot in the outer Richmond for some Chinese/hakka food. Greatly suited for small and large parties sharing family style. The food here reminded me of childhood meals i would have with my family.
I got the stirred noddles which had a lot of wok hay in the dish aka, it was wok fried to perfection. We also got the fried tofu and fish fillet casserole which is always a main stable. I love the mushrooms inside. However I did find it a bit salt.
Overall, I love this place and would love to come back.“

“Stumbled upon this place while I was walking through Chinatown for the first time. Speaking as a connoisseur of 燒肉 Siu Yuk from Hong Kong, the crispy roast pork here is delicious, very authentic and can rival the best of Hong Kong. Before my visit, I got a turkey sandwich and a bottle of Mountain Dew for 8 bucks, then came to Chinatown and bought the box of fried rice + Siu Yuk + tofu in the photo for $10. The portion was so big I couldn't even finish it. Great value for money 👍 The staff are friendly and can speak Cantonese.“

“We’ve always been thin crust pizza fans, have never tasted authentic NY style pizza, though we have had Napoli-style pizza several times in Rome, and we gotta say, the crust here is AMAZING!! The only slight change that I think would make it taste even better is if there was a bit more salt in the dough. Other than that, the bottom of the pizza was crisp, and the crust was airy and crisp with a slight chew. The crust was so delicious that we saved all our uneaten crusts to bring home for later, could not bear to throw them away (unlike other, more bready crusts). 😆 The pepperoni pizza was our favorite (so flavorful), with the sausage being a close second. The margherita was nice with the fresh basil, but could have used a sprinkling of salt. Our younger son really wanted to try the corn pizza, but we could only manage to finish 3 pizzas with our family of 7, so he has already declared that this will be his pick for his birthday meal, and that he will be getting the corn pizza. 😆 Wish it were closer to us (we live around 30 mins away), but it is not too far for special occasions! From where we live, comparatively, Mountain Mike’s and Porky’s Pizza Palace would be rated 2 or 3 out of 10 and Spinning Dough would be 9/10! Would totally buy it frozen if they offered that, it is that good! Was also a treat for the kids to watch the owner (who is super, super nice!) toss the dough and assemble the pizzas. Thank you for the delicious meal!“

“Um, this smash burger was 11/10! Amazingly griddled patty with melty cheese, crisp iceberg, a perfect bun, and super thin onion for the cut. Only have had ordered in so not sure about actual restaurant but highly recommend for the burger factor! Simplot tots came crispy in delivery, too!“

“Nice neighborhood sports bar, right across the street from the Roxie theater. Long bar seating on one side, tables on the other. Lots of TVs, 24 beer taps (only about 16 in use at my visit), decent back bar selection, and even a good choice of rums. Good sized wings with great buffalo sauce, mozz sticks could be better, but are ok. Food prices are a little high.“

“Pizza with a little salty dough but it's not a problem because the rest is very tasty, neither high nor low, good mozzarella for the price, oregano not of high quality, the locals like it a lot, while an Italian might vaguely remember the frozen one but a little ' Better. I have to say that it remains good considering the place where it is located.
Ps
Coke on tap tastes like chlorine, I think it's better to use barrel water and not tap water.“

“Tell me why when I first opened the delivery box of galbi boneless chicken and stabbed what I thought was a French fry with my fork, I literally did a chew double-take and removed the tteokbokki from my mouth because my taste buds were so thrown off from what I was expecting. I really should’ve known better, but I’m accustomed to seeing tteokbokki drenched in a gochujang based sauce, so they deceptively resembled fries. To be fair, from this experience, I learned they taste way better dry and seasoned, but I digress.
Onto the main part of the review…
As I’ve written in a couple other reviews this week, I’m “researching” the best Korean fried chicken spots in San Francisco to determine which to order from for an upcoming Friendsgiving. I looked up a ton of options in the city and narrowed them down to a shortlist of 3 spots, this place included. A few things I examined to create my short list were varieties/flavours of chicken, quantity to price ratio, other customer ratings, images of the chicken, and proximity to my neighborhood or deliverability to my friends’ neighborhood where the Friendsgiving will be hosted.
When I took the first bite of K Soul chicken, I knew I’d found a winner. I’m very particular about KFC having spent the last few years living in LA and Orange County, home to copious dedicated KFC restaurants. K Soul’s chicken tastes the most similar to my favourite spots in SoCal. It has the perfect texture and crunch, the meat is neither dry nor greasy, and the umami flavor is on point. They’ve created a perfectly balanced KFC, and that’s why I’ll be taking this to Friendsgiving.“

“Where do I start? First, I didn’t take pictures of the food because I already ate it 😅. The place (family market) is a nice corner store that sells everything from liquor to groceries with a kitchen attached (The big baba)! We tried their Philly cheese steak and it’s super tasty and filling! We tried the kofta plate and the chicken shawarma plate. The meats are great and the side fries are super tasty and crispy! Garlic fries is a bomb! Prices are fair, food is delicious, and quantities are big. Highly recommended! Will be back!“
