Chotto Matte San Francisco Reviews
Our family of four adults thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and outstanding cuisine at Chotto Matte in San Francisco. It is located on the rooftop of the former Macy Men’s Building at Union Square. Chotto Matte San Francisco offers great food and drinks with a bit of a pricey tag, but the Union Square vibe justifies it. The Nikkei multi-course menu is a wonderful choice, and the ceviche is a hit, with many guests praising its delicious flavor. The bar is perfect for pre-partying, featuring excellent music and a great vibe, including a rooftop location that adds a fun, unexpected element. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere that makes visitors feel welcome and comfortable. The ambiance is outstanding, with friendly staff providing amazing hospitality. Guests also enjoy the vibrant environment, which gives off LA or NYC vibes, and the overall experience is memorable. The salmon and cod dishes are highly praised for being delicious and perfectly cooked, though they can be pricey without sides. Recently, guests have enjoyed well-balanced, delicious cocktails and tasty, well-presented food. Some dishes, like the BBQ Huacatay Broccolini, may not meet expectations if the dish differs from the description, but overall, the menu impresses. The Australian wagyu steak and lobster truffle are described as divine, and the trendy space is complemented by excellent service. The rooftop can be cold during certain seasons, but the indoor atmosphere is upbeat and lively. The new weekend brunch has quickly become popular, offering a perfect mix of creative food, relaxed rooftop vibes, and attentive service. Highlights include warm cornbread, Wagyu sliders, hearty smoky breakfast burrito, crisp bacon, and delightful churro bites dipped in chocolate sauce with pomegranate bursts. A live DJ adds to the vibrant, stylish ambiance, making the restaurant a top spot for brunch. The space features various smaller zones and seating arrangements suitable for groups or intimate gatherings, with a great playlist and calming energy. Guests enjoy the fusion food, sake menu, and the heated outdoor terrace. Overall, Chotto Matte San Francisco combines great food, drinks, and a fun atmosphere, making it a must-visit for a lively dining experience.
