3.5 stars - Excellent vibe and drinks. Service was friendly but slow. Food was just ok, and portions are small, so feels overpriced. Joodang is in the tenderloin, so inevitably, the area is a bit sketchy. This didn't stop us because I had been wanting to try this place since it opened! This is one of my new favorite Korean fusion spots in SF! Despite the location being in TL, the moment you step inside you're transformed into a trendy modern atmosphere. Our server was super nice and recommended many dishes to us. My top favorites were definitely the miso crab risotto, scallop, and kimchi shrimp carbonara! 10/10 must try!
If I could give this place a higher rating, I would... Found JooDang in a recent article highlighting new top restaurants in SF (2024). I'm such a huge fan of Asian foods, so when I saw this place, I knew I had to try it. While in a dodgy area of SF, it's worth visiting. Rolling up, I noticed the restaurant front is very unassuming.
