Mandalay Restaurant offers fantastic food, featuring traditional Burmese dishes not commonly found elsewhere. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with a fun tableside mixing experience that creates a great vibe. The staff is very attentive and willing to explain menu items, making the experience more enjoyable. Vegetarian options are available, including a $30 vegetarian appetizer sampler that isn’t on the menu but can be requested, and the tea leaf salad is highly praised for its bold flavors. Customers enjoy dishes like rainbow salad, basil beef, and Mandalay noodles, though some find certain items less appealing. The menu is mostly marked spicy, but the mild dishes are enjoyable and comforting. Portions are small, so sharing is recommended. While the $20 minimum per person can be a downside, the excellent service and flavorful cuisine make it worth the visit. Limited parking might be an issue, especially during busy times, but reservations are advised as the line can get long. Despite other Burmese spots nearby, Mandalay remains a special place for group outings or date nights, with friendly staff catering to various dietary preferences.
