Papalote Mexican Grill Reviews
At the recommendation of Adam Savage, we stopped by while in the city, and tried out the place. AMAZING FOOD. The shrimp tacos were delicious, and my wife said her burrito was also delicious. Highly recommend to anybody looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food.
Love their sauce. Carne asada burrito was very mid. Half the burrito was rice and the carne asap flavour ain’t bad but isn’t great. Atmosphere is like they’re moving with random shit everywhere.
The food is delicious, but the customer service is lacking. I ordered carne asada fajitas through Uber Eats. I received one tortilla to go with at least a pound of meat. When I called back to inquire, I was told “that’s what they told me to do” and that there was no manager available until Monday. Very upsetting.

Papalote Mexican Grill is a takeout kitchen in San Francisco, known for its flavorful burritos and tacos. The chicken mole burrito and the chili verdi super burrito are popular choices, packed with taste and made with vegan-friendly refried beans. Customers enjoy the carne asada, which is grilled to order, and the refried beans are praised for their rich flavor despite being vegan. The salsa is spicy and flavorful, adding a perfect touch to the burritos. The restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian options, including a bean and rice burrito that many find satisfying. While there is no dedicated seating area, the fast service and quality of the food are highly appreciated. Customers often mention the fresh and sizable tacos, as well as tasty chips and salsa. The restaurant is mainly a takeout and delivery spot in the NOPA neighborhood with an impressive menu featuring quality ingredients. It is still possible to dine in using their standing bar, though customers are advised to ask for napkins before eating. Since 2010, it has been a favorite for many seeking casual, affordable, and wholesome meals. However, recent reviews indicate some concerns about extra charges for add-ons like cheese and guac, which some customers feel are unfair, especially given the already high prices.
