“It has been a while since I have been to Hukilau. This place is still the same great little place it was the last time I was here. My go to is the Loco Moco with the hamburger patties and an upgrade to the fried rice. This is delicious. The food has always been very good. The service is very good and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.“

“The Monterey Rd restaurant is kuddos 5stars. The restaurant is always clean, the service is great the delivery is quick and OMG the food is impeccable good. I have referral numerous family members and friends to this one restaurant. I fell in love 3 12 yes ago and now I'm a regular. the food is clean, healthy and very tasty.“

Service was good but not friendly... not mean either. It just seems like they ate on guard because of how sketchy the area can be? Or sketchy the customers can be.

Homeless people will be walking in trying to use the bathroom. The bathrooms are for customers only.
But they'll insist. And sometimes will have someone else walk in with them and lie about buying something JUST to get the key. ( this all happened on one visit lol )

So if youre looking for a nice place to sit down w the family this isnt the best place to do that.

Me my lady and her son sat and ate . It went well, but it wasnt the best place to sit and eat.

“This junk food junkie loved my first ever bowl. And it was vegan and gluten free so I can't even believe how awesome it was. I ordered the pineapple teriyaki cauliflower bowl with no bell peppers and added mushrooms instead and absolutely everything was delicious! I ordered it served with the sesame scallion rice and I can't even believe how much I loved that rice!It was a really big portion and totally filled me up. I couldn't even finish the sweet potato salad, which was also really good. I thought I would be hungry because there was no meat in my meal but nope. Totally happy and ready for a nap. Wish my boss would let me take one LOL!I found them through GrubHub and the meal arrived nice and warm. I will definitely be ordering Lulu bowls again!“

“The food is delicious... the portions are big. For me, I have to share, I can't finish it alone. The BBQ meat is big... plus rice and macaroni or salad. The chicken katsu is also delicious...I'm satisfied here. The place is not too big but there is space for eating inside.“

“Island vibes and scrumptious Hawaiian kind food. I walked in on a gamble since it’s hard to find a good Hawaiian BBQ place. This place is about premium products and it shows in their food. Seafood is hard to fake, their Seafood platter was on point. Crunchy but moist ! I’ll be back to try it all.“

Massive food for a very reasonable price. Chicken is delicious and cooked right every time. Vegetables are fresh and delicious.

Come with a hearty appetite, or be prepared to take half your serving home with you.

“Really good local joint for excellent Hawaiian BBQ. So many good menu selections with bbq nix. Different plates, chicken katsu, kalua pork, etc. Staff is really friendly and helpful and they are always have good traffic and plenty of seating.“

“I decided to get some poke, and this spot is close by, so some friends and I go. The shop is small with barely any seating, but there are 4 tables outside.

The fish was fresh, and the number of choices for toppings was great. The process to build the bowl is fast, and the service was kind. They even gave me a bit extra on one of my toppings without charging me.

All in all it was a large portion for the large bowl with 4 different proteins and lots of toppings. The refresher drinks are also really delicious.“

“From the outside, this place doesn't look like much, but drop any preconceived notions. This place blows chains like L&L out of the water. If you're looking for Hawaiian and Chinese American comfort food, this is the place to go. I can honestly recommend so much of the menu, but my absolute favorite thing they make is their gravy. Their chicken cutlet with gravy is so good (same thing with their gravy fries), but a hot tip for your dipping needs is that they'll sell you the gravy separately if you ask for it.“

I got the chicken combo which included a delicious, juicy, smoky teriyaki chicken and crispy and flavorful chicken katsu. The food was served quick and was fresh and so flavorful. My sides were grilled veggies which were perfectly cooked and a delicious Mac salad. This place is great - the portions are generous and the food is fresh and so tasty. Will definitely be back any time I’m in the area and can’t wait to try their other menu items.“

“The musubi trio is spam, chicken katsu, and BBQ chicken. If you're a fan of all three, it saves you $.40. Otherwise, just get the musubi you want instead.I will say this jawn slaps. It's no very shareable, the musubi, as cutting in destroys the structural integrity of the wrap, but yeah go for this one mate. The BBQ sauce is good. Definitely something you can be without but it does add a layer.Great service here as well. Would go again.“
