New American Restaurants in San Jose, CA

“What a freaking gem. This spot gives off serious LA or NYC vibes right in the heart of downtown SJ. The decor alone deserves a shoutout: stunning tall ceilings, gorgeous wood and metal accents, natural tones, and even a couple of olive tree centerpieces that ties it all together in a sleek, contemporary way. If you need a date night spot, try to lock in a reservation here.

The elevator bar is probably one of the most unique features I've ever seen, shuttling bottles of liquor from the downstairs bar to the loft bar. The loft area wasn't open yet, but I could already picture it being the perfect place to pre-game and soak in the energy from the restaurant below.

The food is dialed in. New American with a Mediterranean twist. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch, letting you watch your dishes as they're being prepared. Highly recommend ordering family style to share. The octopus is an absolute must--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The lobster pasta was decadent - pricey, but you get huge chunks of lobster that makes it worthwhile. We also ordered the monster ribeye topped with some insane butter, cooked medium rare. If you have a group of 4 or more, do it.

The drinks were fantastic, though more subdued in flavor compared to their other concepts like Paper Plane or Mini Boss. I'd recommend dinner at Eos & Nyx, then cap off the night with a cocktail at one of their other bars.

This is a game-changer for downtown SJ. It really reminded me of Bavel in downtown LA, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Excited to see this place finally open!“

“Yard House is the perfect spot for beer lovers and foodies alike! They have an impressive selection of draft beers, offering something for every palate. The place is massive and usually packed, creating a lively and energetic vibe. Their late-night happy hour from 10-12 PM is a great deal, making it even more enticing. We absolutely loved their iconic onion ring tower and found all their appetizers to be delicious and well-prepared. The drinks and overall atmosphere make it a fun spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a great evening. Highly recommend!“

“While looking for another pizzeria, I stumbled upon willow street pizza on a Thursday. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they offered a daily special on lasagna and garlic bread on this day. Thus I took my doggos to go eat here.

I was once again surprised to see they also offered a separate menu for doggos. I purchased for the doggos a 1/4 lb beef patty which they really enjoyed.

The special was incredibly filling and once I had some crushed red peppers to eat with it was very good and more than I initially expected. Besides the special I also purchased a mini pizza and garlic fries from the happy hour menu. The mini pizza was a bit too much dough to toppings but was good. The fries though felt like a good value for their $4 price tag.

Overall, willow street pizza is an excellent place to take doggos to and enjoy pasta and pizzas. I shall come back eventually.“

“Food was excellent! Flat iron steak was done med rare as ordered. Chicken with cranberry sauce and brussels sprouts was perfect. The delicious apple/caramel bread pudding definitely enough to share. The atmosphere is an older converted garage but it is well worth going for the food!

“Oh my gosh!!!! My family and I are on vacation driving through California. We stayed in San Jose for a couple nights. We parked in downtown to check things out. I Googled places for dinner and The Club on Post came up with good reviews. The website offered reservations and I booked one. We walked in and were greeted by Alena. She was a doll!!! She was also our server, she was super friendly and helpful. I knew this was my place, the music they had playing in the background was amazing, loud enough to hear it but quiet enough you can still have a conversation. I don't know if the music playing is always 2000s.... But it was that night, and they had Friends playing on the screen. The vibe was just so amazing.... But, now I'm showing my age. Ohh the food, so good. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the burger and we swapped halves.... Oh man the burger and sandwich were both delicious. We ordered dessert too. The molten lava cake was bomb!!! The creme brulee was amazing too. It was such a happy accident we stumbled across The Club. Alena definetly made our night.“

“Food is nothing short of amazing. Large menu and especially good for vegetarians and those who are into healthy options and unwilling to sacrifice taste. Really good kids menu. It's crowded and loud on Friday night, so you'll need a little patience if you go then.“

“Had this on my list for a while and went today.
From what I've had locally this place is easily in my top 3. The price is pretty high but for what you get its not too outrageous.

Their Sicilian style is fantastic, great crust, flavors, and overall I'd definitely visit again.

They also have slices so try that first maybe before committing to a whole pie.“

“What a great find on the last day of our trip to California. The space was beautiful, the staff was great and the food was delicious! The chicken was delicious and filling and fresh. The Cioppino was fabulous!!! The garlic bread that came with it was delicious. I had a green salad to start and it too was excellent. Great glass of Zinfandel. And the flourless almond cake with pineapple and vanilla gelato also delicious. They focus on fresh, quality ingredients. Well done!“

Cool atmosphere, plenty of standing and sitting room both indoors and outdoors. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable of their drinks both on/off menu if fairly good. However, a few cocktails were either extremely sweet or extremely sour to the point of them being barely drinkable.“

“I’ve eaten here twice with a wide sampling of dishes and Devine is absolutely mind blowing. Their mixtures of flavors is truly a beautiful form of art……and I don’t think I’ve ever said that about any restaurant! Goat cheese and caramel? It’s now a go to for our own charcuterie board at home……Herb infused brittle and cheese? I need to have more! It is truly perfection! Last night we enjoyed their four course meal (i highly suggest two people get their own and split, there’s two choices for the salad/soup, main, and dessert, you don’t want to miss out on anything!). Every bite we took had us stop in awe. Devine is a gem! We even loved that the employees/owners come with laughs and personality. It’s a fun and light environment that added so much more to our experience. As the place got busy, our waiters didn’t waver in his attention for anyone! “I had the Chicken Mix Bowl with the smokey chipotle sauce and it was AMAZING. I am allergic to dairy, gluten, and soy so being able to not worry about that with my meal was so nice. I also have ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) and have a really hard with certain textures, usually chicken is really hard for me to eat but I had no issues with this chicken!! The texture was consistent all the way through, pulled apart really easily, and was just overall amazing. The portions are really good and the food is very flavorful. I'm really happy with my meal. Thank you guys for the amazing food. I highly recommend this place!!“

“Wonderful Experience at Trails Pub in San Jose!

Trails Pub in San Jose is a gem that should not be missed. Whether you're looking for a delicious meal, a relaxed atmosphere, or a great selection of drinks, this place has it all. Nice beers on tap, loved the Smithwicks. My partner had Dragon's Slayer. We wanted to play darts, and you can just request darts from the amazing bartender.

I can't wait to return and try more of their offerings.“

“Located within Nordstorm, Bazille is quiet place good for a date night or when you want peace after roaming in the mall. Food itself is not that great. Everything was greasy and dripping with oil/cheese. Even though we sat when the restaurant opened, our food came in 45mins after. Service is definitely slow. I would probably not go again.“
