“I tried the Philly cheesesteak, seasoned classic fried and cheesecake. My god was it good. I was visiting from london 🇬🇧, the cheesesteak was so hot, soft and fresh. The bbq sauce dip is a an absolute must! The fries were so damn good, way better than any of the spots I’ve eaten. And the cheesesteak, I’ve had cheesesteak from the cheesecake factory and from bakeries, this was the best! And for $3.99 I’m so happy with the pricing can’t complain. Will absolutely come again. Thank you for lady who served me at the till!“

“Order on Grub Hub and it was so delicious,hot and correct. I appreciate local businesses who deliver to the Candy Cane Inn off Harbor. We have been trying different ones and this Philly Chicken is so good and fresh. It arrived hot as well as my daughter had chicken tenders also hot,crispy and yummy. “Hands down the best Philly cheesesteak on the west coast, I’ve had cheesesteak on the east coast and the west coast and in my humble opinion Johnny's Philly grill is on par with what you get in Philadelphia and that’s really saying something. We have eaten here many times and will continue to do so. We ordered from here on superbowl Sunday since we are Philadelphia eagles fans.. Go birds! It was extremely busy and they had hundreds of orders called in but they still had ours ready on time and they were phenomenal as usual. It doesn’t matter how busy they are, the food is top notch every single time. Just writing this review made me crave a Philly so I know where I’m eating tonight. I haven’t tried all of the locations but based on the overall experience while eating at the beach blvd location, I’m sure they are all on point. I’m so glad I found this place, even my super picky 15 year old loves it and that’s impressive. I can’t wait to go back after work.

Parking: It’s not the biggest lot but I have never had a problem parking even when they are busy. If I had to park on the street and walk I would still go. The food is that good

“Absolutely HUGE, overflowing cheesesteak for $16. No charge for extras (lettuce, onion, etc). It barely fit in the basket provided. I could not even eat half. Cheese melted really well and overall very delicious. Meat didn’t appear fatty and the cheese was mashed up throughout the entirety of the chopped steak. Much better sandwich in Irvine than the same chain at the San Clemente location. However, Irvine has no free pickle and pepper bar like they have at the other location. Delicious sammy!“

“For some weird reason, despite all the Philly cheesesteak places in California, you rarely see restaurants that offer one of the classic Philadelphia cheese options: good old Cheez Whiz.

I know Cheez Whiz is not for everyone, since it has a very unique flavor and texture compared with something like American or provolone.

Thankfully, Philly’s Best provides that option when you want a Philly cheesesteak, and you can even mix and match multiple cheeses. One thing I like to do is mix provolone with Cheez Whiz for a unique, more Philly-style taste.

Otherwise, I think the cheesesteak is fine in terms of the meat, bread, and cheese combination, but I do not think it tastes as good or as fresh as Jersey Mike’s or several other local places that offer hot Philly cheesesteak sandwiches.

That said, I like going to Philly’s Best when I am specifically looking for that Cheez Whiz taste, and that is honestly the main reason I would recommend going here.“

She makes everything fresh including the mayo nothing is store bought. The sandwiches are appetizing and have a very unique flavor.
