“I had the best experience here at melrose bakery. I was searching online for Italian bread for sandwiches and found this gem. Nancy was super helpful, I ended up leaving with 2 giant loafs of sourdough bread. All for $5! I originally wanted rolls but those need to be ordered ahead of time. They are a wholesale store and open to the public. I followed the exact instructions on the reviews to find this place. Awesome place!“

“It is clean. Employees are friendly, helpful and courteous. The baked goods champurado and tamales are good. I'll probably get tamales for the weekend. The tamales are a little pricey. But, it's a good product. I keep going for more. The breads are very good and reasonably priced.
There's no seating.“

I got really excited and got almost one of everything. There’s a small counter for sitting and eating. All the pastries were yum, but the morning bun was our favorite. And the sandwiches are so well constructed with bread that was obviously baked fresh.

Only thing ill say is the patio is not good for large parties so if you intend to dine in, the seating there it ideal for parties of 2 or 4.“

“Overall the food was just okay here.

I came late in the day so I sadly missed the egg tarts but they had plenty of po tarts which are basically milk cream custard in the tart forms. The pastry was so light and flaky with a rich and velvety filling!

I wanted a savory pastry too and asked the cashier which was their favorite, they recommended the spicy curry. This wasn't the best.It wasn't bad but it also wasn't spicy nor did it have much flavor. The pastry dough itself was so much better than the entirety of the item.“

“If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“I’ve always enjoyed the cheesecake at Ohh Bakery, but this time I tried their fresh cream cake. The chiffon sponge was incredibly soft, and the fresh cream tasted so light and delicious. You can really tell they use very fresh ingredients. On top of that, the cake prices are amazing. I’m so happy that Ohh Bakery opened—great taste and great prices!

Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. Thank you Sonora Bakery…. You have a customer for life!“
