“Food, wine, service and vibes were exceptional! We made resys for a wine night and the outdoor seating was cozy, with a heated lamp keeping us warm. Our server was sweet and helped us sample some wines - we chose an orange wine and sparkling wine which both paired perfectly with the food.
For food, highly rec the mentaiko spaghetti, fries with yuzu aoili, chicken wings, and citrus salad! Dessert is a must - loveee the hojicha tres leches and black sesame rice krispy.
Portions are small, but perf for sharing with friends and wine selection is lovely.“

“✨Drink like a Whale and Eat a Volcano at Sulgorae in Norwalk, California✨We came to @sulgorae.sojubar for their refreshing Whole Watermelon Soju, which consists of fresh watermelon juice (the perfect summer flavor), Soju, and Sprite to sweeten and fizz up your cocktail.
What we didn’t expect was to be blown away by their variety of food options, from fried bar bites to comforting entrees and everywhere in between. Their KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) was served hot (temperature) from the kitchen with the skin in perfect crispiness and meat so juicy.
But the real star of the meal was their Volcano Beef Stirfry- you know it’s the dish to get when you see it served to every table! Be warned: the spice level is no joke here. We ordered with a level 1 out of 4 spice and that was perfect amount for me (and I can handle ??)

“I didn't even know this place existed until a neighbor took me here. Its very spacious it's super clean and it's definitely much better than most neighborhood bars. I actually thought this place was a liquor store in passing. Sally is a great bartender. Very personable and a joy to converse with. There's 3 pool tables and ample room for a crowd.“

I loved how there were several different stands to get food from, including a dedicated bar area (I hate it when you have to order food at the bar).The food was all really fairly priced and so good! It paired well with the beer flight my partner and I got. There are many unique beers to have, and the bartender who served us was super cool and friendly.I definitely want to come back again! “Oh my, I almost don't want to let people know about this place, but I hope we will always have a spot.
Everything on the menu is of great quality and made with expert culinary techniques.
The wine list does not have any California wines, which is refreshing.
This was our second time, and one of many more to come. We have tried: the mussels, the vegetable stew, taboule, calamari, steak frites, chicken tagine, and the apple tarte.
Matti is great at pairing wines with the food.
Lastly, the music is great 👍.“

“My husband and I went there tonight, for Valentine's Day. We had the Steak/Salmon special. This ribeye was the BEST steak I've had in my life. So tender and so tasty!!! The salmon was wonderful, so delicious! I totally recommend their food. Yes, their prices are high, but you're getting the best food possible. And, really, on a special occasion, it's worth it to enjoy delicious food and great service!! Thank you, Verdugos, for a great Valentine's dinner!! We pray you are the most successful restaurant in Downey!“
“If you LOVE rock, especially Spanish rock and you better roll up to this place. Cover charge is $5 on Saturdays. The only downside of this place is that it's small so it can get kinda packed at times. I would still recommend you try it out at least once.“

“I have coming to this location for about a year now and have had the privileged to me most of all of the bartenders and to be honest I sometimes only stop by to grab food .. my fave is bacon wrapped hot dog , it’s loaded and so yummy. Also, all the finger foods are amazing and I’m able take home to indulge during my movie nights at home. One last thing - Amanda the bartender is one of my favs she’s so nice and even with a full bar she makes you feel like you’re the only one there giving you all the attention.“

The one thing I don’t like about this bar is that despite its cool heavy metal, goth Game of Thrones-esque design, there is not enough heavy metal playing. Still, pretty cool bar but please play more metal or at least classic Rock.“

“So this place is like a hidden gem for Boyle heights locals. Everyone here is having a good time. When you walk in the bouncer is very respectful checks your bag. But he is very polite and sweet at the same time. Honestly that is rare these days. We got there when they opened at 7pm. We was greeted by Javier but we called him Javi all night.When I tell you he was so nice and real. Really loved his job. Kept the bar true to itself. He really take cares of the locals. Wants to keep this bar for the locals so when you come he treats you like a local. Makes you understand why people come. We sat at the bar and had the best service. Javi took care of us. If you ever in Boyle heights and want to hear good music and have good reasonable priced drinks come to Holiday! Because I know I will come back!

“This place is somewhat outdated, however even with that being said, it's a nice atmosphere. Our waitress Sylvia was extremely attentive. She always had a smile! We never had to wait very long for our drinks or dinner. Bathrooms were very clean?
