“Their handmade corn tortillas are so amazing. They also have one of the best bean and cheese burritos in town. I love their fish tacos and their carne asada tacos. The service is always friendly and my order is ready when they say it will be. 50 percent off all tacos in Tuesday as well!!“
“CASH ONLY. So I wish I'd known this prior but they have an ATM for a $2.50 charge. Could be worse. My 30 year High School Reunion was the following day so this was just a get together with some of the crew that are here locally or came in from out of town. Pretty small with a jukebox (a bit too loud to hear each other talk when you're not a spring chicken anymore, but a positive vibe nonetheless.“
“I cannot begin to say how amazing my experience was here. Biz, Emmy and the other person working (so sorry for spelling and names it was quite loud) on march 13th were absolutely amazing biz and his cocktail knowledge was impeccable. I came here solo with some anxiety and I was immediately felt at home. Later into the night they continued to provide amazing service and recommendations for other areas in San Diego. I'm visiting from Seattle and they definitely made my entire trip!“
“atmosphere needs a 10 star option because this is truly one of the best spots in SD for a great theme.the drinks are a bit pricey $15-19 but worth the ambiance of the bar. The food is also high quality. mostly appetizers and finger food but presented and taste amazing. Great date night spot.“
“Really good service. Very friendly and professional. Food was well prepared and favorable. Had our preteen granddaughters with us, and they enjoyed their meals a lot.Dietary restrictions: We shared our allergy issues, and all meals were free of issues.Kid-friendliness: They have a small game area that we enjoyed.“
“I ordered it online and they were quick to complete my order. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and kids chicken quesadilla. The food was great. In regards to the pizza, the crust was thin just like I like it. The sauce was flavorful, and there was enough pepperoni on it. That's for the quesadillas. There were three Chicken quesadillas. I asked for only Monterey Jack cheese on it because they put both of them according to what I read, and they followed the instructions completely. I appreciate that because my great niece does not like the orange cheese as she calls it lol.“
“Came and ate here and had a few slushies. I had the Mexican Firing Squad, my husband had the Ube Colada. Both were delightful! To eat I had the Shrimp Fried Rice and my husband had the Fancy Grilled Cheese and added chicken. The food was delicious! Especially the SFR! It was a very large portion. A friend of ours had the wedge salad and it was huge and looked ? delicious. I will be ordering one next time. They had great music going on amd the staff were all super friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!“
“My wife and I are big fans of all things Tiki and we've been wanting to go to The Luau for awhile now. Last night we finally went and it was so worth it. We were greeted the moment we entered the door. The bar was full so we went to the outside patio which was decorated perfectly with tiki water fountains and vintage longboard surf boards. Our bartender John was amazing and lit the spiral propane heater as it was a bit cold outside. He got us our two Mai Tai drinks (they were amazing by the way)super quick and kept our bowl of Goldfish and pretzels full at all times. John was such an attentive bartender and made sure we always had everything we needed including waters. Mind you it was very busy and he had a lot of other customers to serve but in spite of that he managed to check on us quite often. As the evening got later the inside tiki bar was less crowded and so we went inside. It was decorated so cool and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We met the other bartender Tony and he was very friendly and attentive as well. Great experience we will definitely be back. Excellent tiki drinks in perfect tiki mugs at a reasonable price. We were both so happy we went to " The Luau"“
“Second visit - glad we went back! Just as great as the first visit. Had a wonderful time last night during restaurant week. Excellent option!s! We chose the restaurant week menu - one veal, and upgraded one meal to try the seafood special - sea bass. Delicious. Rice ball appetizers and meatballs. The almond tort for dessert was amazing. Service was excellent even though restaurant was full. Food timing perfect and servers were friendly and fun.“
“One of the best places in San Diego for Mexican food that delights you with its wide variety of dishes with fresh products daily, I highly recommend it for any formal or informal event 10 out of 10.Vegetarian options: Very good selection of legumes, vegetables and fruits for salads“
“First timer here female 38. Came here on a Saturday night. Received positive vibes from bar tender Jamie and the security guard Wikie. Fun save positive environment with good people, cheap drinks and a great time. Jamie went above and beyond to provide an exceptional time for me as a first timer. Truly appreciated her customer service and positive attitude.“
“Came in for a friend's birthday. It was a Wednesday night and they do a steak cooked to order with a soup or salad and a side if either mashed potatoes or Mac n cheese along with some fresh steamed veggies AND a cocktail all for only $25!!! It was delicious. Our server Sophie was so RAD and friendly! Definitely will be back!“
“We visited with friends and ordered a wide assortment of dishes: rolls (Tommy roll, Lemon roll, cut roll) udon, poke, miso soup, and also tried several appetizers: crispy salmon skin, edamame, and spicy edamame, fried gyozu, and assorted fried vegetables. The food was surprisingly well done, it was clear that great care went into their menu and dishes. Everyone was very pleased, and feeling very glad we gave this place a chance -- we'll be back!“
“The bartender and employees working there are nice and respectful. They wanted me to feel like I'm welcome there. One employee even asked if I wanted to play pool cause the pool table was free that night. Will definitely be my bar from now on.Parking: Late at night, you can park in the restaurant parking lot across the street. There are only a few parking spaces in the front.“
“Always fabulous treated like a king the bartender's there are very personal and friendly and I love the way they make me feel great atmosphere and good people it's got all the essentials for a good pub visit and check it out for yourself“
“We dined here with close friends of ours and had the best time in quite a while! There were 8 of us in our party and we’re fortunate to be able to book their private room towards the rear of the restaurant. We ordered a few Old Fashioned cocktails to start the night, and had also brought two of our favorite wines to be opened during dinner. We started with their Calamari Fritti appetizer and their Cheese & Charcuterie Board. The restaurant’s ambiance was excellent, service couldn’t have been better, and the food (every bit of it was delicious)! Two of us ordered their Steak Siciliano, three of us ordered their Chilean Seabass, and two had their Pappardelle Ragu. One of us also tried their Lobster Bisque. Definite hits of the night were the Steak Siciliano and Chilean Seabass! The ribeye prepared was one of the best steaks offered in an Italian restaurant, and the Seabass cut was a very generous portion! No leftovers remained from either of these dishes. Karina, the owner, came and spoke to us and she was very friendly and hospitable. We loved the decor, the attention to detail, and the genuine service we received the entire evening. While you might not think Lemon Grove would be your first choice for delicious Italian food, you’d be quite surprised as Giardino’s will blow you away with their overall food & service quality. We couldn’t have been impressed any more…“
“Does and done to heaven. Their Thursday oyster happy hour special is delicious. Handcrafted cocktails will not disappoint. Service is ok as it is extremely busy during dinner. You don't get a ton of attention. However, I feel that the quality of the food makes up for it.“
“I've been to bar 3 piece so many times, this place is such a hidden gem! The presentations are always so fun to go to and they are always so well priced, the bartenders are so knowledgeable and very engaging! The bar is gorgeous! The wood on the walls is so pretty and it's got just enough light to see exactly what you are doing. Service is always wonderful.“
“So glad that I finally made it to this bar after living in the neighborhood for so long. I'm also very glad that I came in with a regular who knew a person or two as this has a very "locals" feel to it. First thought that ran through my head was that it was much bigger than I had expected it to be. I didn't even make it to the other side of the bar, which is also sizeable. Service was quick and there were a few folks playing pool on one of the two tables that I saw, (there may be more) and it had a nice outdoor space for patrons to go to for a quick smoke or two. Prices were average and the people were friendly, and for that, what more can you really ask for in a neighborhood bar?“
“Been going to SVI for years. George the owner is a friend of mine. If you visit San Diego County, stop by for a drink. The Taco people out front sells excellent food. Best idea for the bar. The super market next door also sells fresh food. Stop by you won't be sorry. P. S. Biker friendly.“
“The Victory Kitchen is a wonderful addition to the bar. I've had about 10 different items here and all are a 10 out of 10 for me. The pozole is delicious!! Victor really cares about the food quality! The bar has pool tables a couple classic video games and Golden tee! Wish they would update it. Homer and Tommy are super cool bartenders and the prices for drinks are fair!! i highly recommend it if you like dive bars as i do!!“
“This place gave me a divey vibe for all the good reasons! KP was an awesome bartender amidst trivia night, and prices were way too fair. Definitely give this place a look! Modest outdoor area too if trying to catch up with an old friend amongst the crowd inside.“
“I've seen this place for yearssss and never thought to stop in, but my salon hosted a dinner here, and this place was a little vibe, kinda lowkey . The food was good with live music . Definitely gave a casino vibe with the decor, but it's definitely a cool little date spot with ya friends or man's “
“Coming here has become a bit of a family tradition since first coming here in 2023 right before the Teddy Swims concert. The Urbn Salad is a really nice treat. The small size should feed two. I've tried the buffalo-flavored wings, but my favorite are the spicy wings! My wife and I absolutely LOVE the made-to-order selection of pizzas. Our favorite so far is the BBQ pizza. Delish! The service is always welcoming, and the atmosphere is wide open and fun. You should try it!“
“I was thoroughly impressed by the unique ambiance, which seamlessly blends Indian, Middle Eastern and Western cultures. The restaurant's use of steel thalis for serving food, a tradition local to India, is a delightful touch that you rarely encounter in the United States. The Masala chai, while on the pricier side, was undeniably delicious, although it comes pre-mixed with a slight amount of sugar and lacks customization options. The outstanding customer service left a lasting impression; the staff's genuine friendliness and passion for their work made my dining experience truly memorable. Kristina was lovely and so was the dude at the bar. Don’t forget to checkout their unique collection of mixed drinks. My order was generously portioned, and the flavors were spot-on—I have no complaints there. Plus, parking was stress-free in this laid-back area with ample street parking. For a unique dining experience, I highly recommend reserving the indoor room next to the bar. There, you can enjoy your meal in the traditional Indian style—sitting on the floor with legs folded. Be sure to check out the picture of the room with its short tables and beds.Dietary restrictions: They will cater to your dietary needs.Kid-friendliness: It’s kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible.“
“This is a solid brunch place! I went on a Wednesday afternoon and got seated immediately. French Toast (8/10): I loved the texture of the french toast. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cinnamon flavor was also pretty prominent, which is what I look for in french toast. However, the toast tasted really buttery, which I wasn't really fond of. The cream on top was tasty. I thought it was going to be too sweet, but it had a very subtle flavor. It tasted like whipped cream. The syrup wasn't too sweet either. Farmer's Plate (6/10): Overall, it very bland. It definitely needed more seasoning. The potatoes were soft and the eggs were fluffy. The bread was a little stale, as well. The sausage was yummy and juicy. It was a little salty, but it worked well with the rest of the things on the plate. Ambiance: I loved the environment! The inside is really pretty and has lots of fun decorations. It wasn't too loud when I was there, but probably because there weren't that many people. I don't remember if there was music or not, but I know it wasn't blasting (or else I'd have noticed it). Service: Our waiter was kind. Nothing remarkable, but overall amicable. You won't be met with rude service.“
“Yep... I'm the Mom of Jayson! I took my son here after looking at reviews on Google, it looked very entertaining. And it was! You guys were so nice as the band invited Jayson on stage to sing happy birthday for his 21st birthday!! It was such a lovely gesture and greatly appreciated. Serious Guise sang awesome rock songs and people were super nice. We will be back!!“
