The place is adorable, pretty affordable, and clean. The bathrooms were clean and nice. The bread on my sandwich was really good. Great consistency and flavor. We had sandwiches, a cherry tartlet, and a merengue roll. All were delicious. The coffee and tea we had were presented so nicely and tasted very good. We will go many miles out of our way to visit here whenever we drive through the area.”

“I eat at Huckleberry’s at least twice a month, today however my experience was not good to the point that I did not leave a tip and feel terrible about that. I went in around noon on Sunday, I knew it would be busy. I signed in for one and was told it would be a 10 minute wait. I sat there roughly 10 minutes. Two ladies came in signed in. Apparently they knew one of the waitress and were seated a few minutes later even though I was there before them. A waiter then approached the hostess and pointed at the clipboard, the hostess told him she was not going to seat one person in a booth. So I approached the hostess that initially signed me in and inquired why the two ladies were given a booth even though I was there before them, she didn’t know and looked for the waitress who sat them. The waitress proceeded to move them to a bigger booth to seat me. I was very disappointed. I realize it was not right to leave a tip but customers should not be given preferential treatment.”

But getting really good BBQ in CA is a challenge unless you know about the Hangry Herd where we had lunch today. The ribs were excellent, as good as I've had anywhere and the best I've ever had in CA! The brisket was also tender and very good. So, if you want good food and like BBQ, this is the place to go to.”
