“Go early if you want their specials of the day. We arrived around 3pm and just missed out on their Apple empanadas. I love their beef, chicken or sweet potato empanadas as well as their pastries.“

“Villa del Sol specialty is the Argentine asado (Argentine BBQ), I highly recommend their grill asado for two. It comes with a variety of meat, chicken, pork, sausages & sweetbread.“

“First and foremost, I have to apologize for not having a better photo of my empanada! Our family each bought one before heading to Angel Island and packed them away to enjoy later. As tempting as it was to eat them immediately while they were still warm and filling the air with their amazing aroma, we wanted to save them for a picnic with a view and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the day.

Even after cooling down, my mushroom empanada was phenomenal. The pastry was beautifully flaky without being dry, and the filling was packed with flavor while remaining well-balanced and not overly salty. Other members of our group were equally impressed with their choices, including the beef, shrimp, and ham-and-cheese varieties.

If the empanadas were this good after sitting for a while, I can only imagine how incredible they are fresh out of the oven.

“This little gem is located inside Ferry Building Marketplace. It’s is one of the few places open early in the morning to get food. The woman working was friendly. We had no wait. I ate the Fugazzeta Empanada… it literally melted in my mouth. It was the best empanada I have ever had. The price seemed high for just one, but the taste made it worth it!“

“Cafe Buenos Aires has some of the best empanadas I’ve had in my life. The empanadas are not greasy and full of flavor. They also have the rare nopales (cactus) flavor, which is complex and well balanced. The staff is super friendly and will heat up your empanadas for a good 5 minutes so they taste hot and fresh. They also have a ton of Renude drinks(chagaccino, collagen latte, hot chocolate). I am so fortunate to have found them and went twice during my weeklong trip in SF. I will definitely be back. “Disclaimer, I'm not a milk tea snob. I love trying out the variety of drinks that Quickly provides, as well as the variety of snacks and meals. I only get to visit this one when I'm visiting a friend, cuz the ones around my neighborhood unfortunately got closed down due to bad people. No other milk tea cafe I know of is a one stop shop like Quickly is in my opinion (e.g. has milk tea, flavored milks, bubble waffles of more than two flavors, popcorn chicken, etc), and I don't think any of it is poor quality imo as long as you've set your expectations correctly (like it's not a tea house).“
