Chicken Restaurants near South San Francisco

“I’ve always wanted to come to a Starbird and today’s finally the chance to visit.

🍔Food: I got their new Indian Hotbird chicken sandwich. I can give it a 9/10. The sauces balance each other out w/o having 1 dominating the rest in terms of flavors. Spiciness level is about 6/10 on a general scale. The raita in it (yogurt-based sauce) and the cucumber let the fried chicken taste without too overpowering. The bun is also pretty good. The only downside is that the chicken is not fresh-out-of-fryer temperature and not as ‘authentic’ or moist as a Popeye’s, but the overall dining experience far outweighs the competitors.

🌽Elote corn side: highly recommend. Again very fresh & balances out the grease from the fried chicken.

Environment: Waayyy better than those regular fast food chains. Very bright & uplifting with ample lighting and light music.

🅿️Parking: parking can bit a bit tricky. Basically you need to stick close to the apartment building and drive into the parking lot whenever possible to avoid going over.

Would definitely come again whenever I have a chance to try out their salad/fries and more!“

“On 9/24/25 evening hours, I was assisted by Tony the cashier. Such a great professional young man, who I observed greeting customers as they walked in. Tony was friendly, efficient and super professional but also very polite. I wish more establishments had employees like Tony!“

“The chicken here tastes SO FRESH AND JUICY!!! I ate here years ago and did recently again. The food is deliciously made with love. The staff are friendly and smiled as they called you over to help you. The place is very clean and tidy. Nothing left on tables or any spills from sodas left behind. Good sun views out the window of the busy street. It was a lot of construction in the area and the smell of that chicken is calling you to come eat asap. It's also close to the freeways and lots of shops. I will definitely go by there again if in the area. Food is fresh, hot, fall off the bone good. Sides were fresh as well. Thank you KFC staff at this location and keep up the good work.❤️??

“Had no idea what I was missing. Ever go to a place and after your first bite you realized, ‘hmmm, guess I never really had a good chicken sandwich before’…? My eyes are open people, this place is worthy, period. Had the Sally Hurricane’s Southern Fried Chicken…and now I’m content in life. Give this place a try, plus the prices are way reasonable. Almost forgot…guys…get the fries!!! You’re on Keto? Get over it and cheat, totally worth it.“

“Ordered online for takeout. When I got there, they'd somehow missed my order so I had to wait quite a while for them to prep it - at least you know they make it fresh. Chicken was good and of the minimally battered style so you really taste the chicken skin. Fries were very nicely fried. Decent value for money. Overall 3.5 stars for this visit but rounding up to 4 to be nice.“
