“1st time trying them out, the staff was very helpful. We got 1 box meal with noodles and beef for $10 and 25 lumpias for $17 plus 2 cheese ball breads $1ea.= est. $30dlls for 2 ppl. IM NOT big on cheese at all but these cheese ball breads are my new favorite, YOU HAVE TO TRY THEM.“

However ... their building on 38th is being sold and I stopped there on 4/12 and no one was there :( On my previous visit on 3/30 I was told they would be finding a new spot and would update their Facebook !! “I was driving home to Denver after visiting my daughter in San Angelo and was craving a breakfast burrito. I had planned on stopping in Roswell but noticed a coffee shop in Lamesa and asked if they had breakfast burritos and they told me to go next door to Tita's. I ate the best burritos I have ever tasted and eaten. I ordered a steak burrito for later on my trip and it was so good. We have a lot of Mexican restaurants in the Denver metropolitan areas but nothing compares to what I experienced from Tita's. Please consider opening up restaurants in Colorado. We have a local restaurant chain all over the Denver metro called Santiagos and they are very popular but if you had restaurants here you would put them out of business. I can't wait to stop in Lamesa again to order a couple of dozen burritos to go and share with others. Also let me know if I can order online or have your menu items shipped to me.“

“Best hopia baboy in all of San Diego County. Might even be the best in all of Southern California, but I haven’t visited every place that sells hopia baboy just yet. I was disappointed to learn that another hopia place I like didn’t even have pork ingredients in their hopia baboy, which goes against the name, but this is unfortunately commonplace at Filipino bakeries. Since Ching’s primary focus is hopia rather than something else like pandesal or other baked goods, the hopia baboy remains authentic with real lard and no artificial flavors.“

“No joke the best mexican food place by far. I was questioning my choice in buying because i spent $25 for a large pacman fries which is the most ive spent on carne asada fries. But once my order came out i knew it was worth the money. This can feed a family and take days to finish by urself. Also the menu options are amazing and love the filipino additions! “Never knew there were so many filipino restaurants in this area. I'm all the way in encinitas so where I am there's only one really good place and another that I know of in san marcos. I have to come back and try different dishes next time to see if my review changes. I'd love to try the milk fish and aroz caldo. I just had the chicken and rice which was good and more than enough for portion sizes. I got two sides and had I know how big the side would have just got one. In the picture I had already ate a few pieces of chicken. I also bought a bag of pandisal not sure how you spell just grew up having it but it was a great price and tasted great.“

“I always love the home food like filipino food. Their Bbq, apritada, pinakbet, fied daing na bangus, tinola, turon, lechon, empanada , pancit etc. if your looking for authentic Filipino food, this is the place, highly recommended and very clean. You should try their halo-halo too!“

“I ordered pinakbet, chicharon bulaklak, and menudo for pick-up from Carlitos Family Restaurant, and everything was delicious! The flavors brought me right back to home-cooked meals from my childhood. When I walked in, I was welcomed by a warm, family-style setting—and even karaoke was happening! It felt nostalgic and comforting, like stepping into a family gathering. Although I only grabbed takeout this time, I’m definitely planning to dine in next time to soak in more of that vibe.

Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Filipino food with a side of good energy. 🍽️🎤🇵🇭

The sweet lady at the counter was very kind and patient explaining which items selected and offered me a complimentary sinigang soup for takeaway with the lunch combo. It was a generous serving, great value, and endearing service. Plenty of seating within the restaurant to dine in and also small retail stand to purchase additional products.“

“I wanted to get my Filipino Food fix when we recently went to San Diego, so I looked up good Filipino restaurants in the area. I found a few in National City, but it seemed like Tita's Kitchenette got the highest ratings. So I decided to try that restaurant. If there was a good picture of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, I think this would be it. The restaurant itself was very simple looking and had a few tables (about 10-12).Ignore the surroundings The food was served cafeteria-style. You could order different combinations of rice and other dishes. I decided to each get a rice and two-dish combination that I was used to as a kid Dinuguan, Pork Adobo and Pansit . I was little surprised by how much rice we were given, which was fine with me (I couldn't finish all my food in one sitting) .My Grandparents used to belonged to a Filipino club in Wilmington CA and this is how I remember the way Filipinos do it everything was great, I even came back with my sister and her husband and my son with a couple of his teammates from soccer a few days later. They all loved it. The next time we are in the area we will be back“

“we're lucky to find this place to cater late night snacks for our wedding reception. we ordered trays of their pork and veggie lumpia and turon. they were all a hit and tasted great that there was no leftover. there's still turon left but it's probably because everyone was full from our cake. the owner/server are very kind and accommodating to deliver to our venue even if late night. we just need to pay a bit extra which we understand since it's all the way to la jolla. overall satisfied and great memory for us!“

“🙌 Wow..! Max’s in Chula Vista is amazing. For starters, their service is impeccable. Got seated right away, very friendly servers. The food - I’m a first timer of Philippine food and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was made to perfection, and I was told all their food is made to order, which I could certainly tell by the quality of ingredients! Atmosphere - The whole restaurant had such a cool modern hip vibe to it - very chic and trendy. This is the kind of place where you want to experience something new and fresh to the area. Oh and they have some beer too! Philippino type beer of course which was pretty awesome, I had a nice lager that went well with my food. Very clean and well organized restaurant across the board. “Goldilocks was an option suggested for my dad's celebration of life gathering. I drove down to the restaurant from Carlsbad to talk with them directly about preparing food for 100+ guests for a Filipino house party (we're Filipino). It was my first time there, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They had me work with Mel, the manager there, and she went above and beyond to help me select the perfect combination of dishes for the party. Knowing we would have some vegetarian guests (like me), Mel helped me customize some of the dishes like the Pancit Bihon, Pinakbet and even the Bagoong Alamang to exclude meat, and suggested a few orders of the vegetarian egg rolls so the veggie guests weren't depressed that they couldn't eat the Shanghai Lumpia. She helped me figure out portions, and also helped with dessert suggestions.

Come the day of the celebration of life, Mel helped our food delivery people be sure they had everything in the order. The food was still hot when it arrived, and many guests remarked how delicious all the food and selections were; Great feedback from a primarily Filipino crowd!

I am 1000% happy with the food, the help, the services and the care that Mel and her team put into our house catering for my dad's celebration of life and highly recommend Goldilock's National City for any home parties you might have.
