“A sore throat and achey joints had me sending my husband to get a container of arroz caldo. The food he brought home is **EXACTLY** what my body needed. My throat isn't hurting anymore, and the taste is gentle enough for this white person's pallete to enjoy, while still savory and delicious. “I've never had fresh Hopia before and Ching's is excellent! The empenadas are awesome too with that Filipino flavor I've been missing. The turon is fantastic because they don't put a bunch of sugar all over it. Service was great as well, giving me the most fresh Hopia they had from the oven. I'll definitely be back!“

“Food portion is a little off if you dine in. The rice and meat ratio is not good. Rice looks like they only gave you 1 or 1.5 scoop while the meat is a good amount. We got the spamsilog and wife got the tapsilog. They gave us 4 slices of spam, which is a good portion vs the rice. Good flavor on the food, the garlic rice, just needs a little bit of salt to taste. Overall good experience!“

The food counter is nestled in the Island Pacific Market that carries all the ingredients for the dishes being served. Has shelves and shelves of snacks, drinks, produce, frozen goods and dry goods.“

“we're lucky to find this place to cater late night snacks for our wedding reception. we ordered trays of their pork and veggie lumpia and turon. they were all a hit and tasted great that there was no leftover. there's still turon left but it's probably because everyone was full from our cake. the owner/server are very kind and accommodating to deliver to our venue even if late night. we just need to pay a bit extra which we understand since it's all the way to la jolla. overall satisfied and great memory for us!“

The food - I’m a first timer of Philippine food and it was absolutely delicious. We decided to have our brunch after in laws morning appointment. Got lucky for a parking knowing it’s hard to get one on a weekend close to the restaurant. Attentive staff from start to finish. It was 930AM but decided not to order breakfast items instead ordered our regular UBER orders.

Ordered the following:

Crispy Pata - it’s a must for us! Crispy skin and juicy pata meat. Ordered Crispy Pata here five times last year through UBER since we just love how juicy and crispy it is.

Pansit Canton - well seasoned and great amount of toppings i.e veggies and meat. Noodles not overcooked.

Fresh Lumpia - not pictured. Fresh veggies wrapped in crepe with sweet savory peanut sauce completes the dish.

Highly recommend if you’re craving for some Filipino dishes.“
