“the people who own and run the restaurant are husband and wife. They are very friendly and polite. They make you feel like family and cook you're food as u order it. The chavelas are perfect. and service is Superb. They are a little bit pricey, however, these are good people and their service and friendly atmosphere, as well as their great food, make it worth it for sure. Plus you have the option of eating there or calling it in and taking it to go.
This mom and pop restaurant is what the american dream is all about. Good Job! Great food!”

“Ate here with a friend on a road trip. Everything was prepared properly, was hot and tasty. The seating area was clean and the food prepared quickly. Would eat here again. There is plenty of parking on an adjacent lot for larger vehicles.”

“Was at the Salton City Travel center ordered a cinnabon the girl was putting individual buns in boxes, she took care of my order took my money gave me the change back, all the while she still had her gloves on that she was using before I ordered. After she handed me my purchase, gave me my change she went back to icing the individual buns did not change gloves did not was her hands ,when I confronted her about that she said that she was using tongs which she will be laying down on surfaces where she has contaminated surfaces with the money this is all in accordance with Covid-19 safty practices I guess we'll I will not be getting anything from this cinnabon ever”

“Stopped into this truck stop after adventuring all over a very hot Ocotillo Wells. So nice to sit in the ac, have a chicken sandwich, and also grabbed a ice coffee. Nice stop.”

“I ate breakfast at The Plaza Restaurante on Wed April 23, 2025. I had an omelet. It was huge. Very delicious, too. The waitress was wonderful! Sorry I didn’t get her name to give a shoutout to. She kept the restaurant very clean & sparkling. They are also dog friendly with patio dining in front. 🐶 I would recommend The Plaza Restaurante in Mecca, CA whole heartedly.”

“It was all OK... The tri trip and pulled pork was pretty moist. Portions were good and the value of my meal excellent.

The Mac & Cheese didn't dry out and the corn (IMHO) was very very good...couldn't eat the bread which seemed like a basic, grilled hot dog bun.

The worse part are the water cups, so tiny... I had to make 4 trips to the cooler to refill. Hated that part.”

“My partner and I ordered 12 tacos and overall enjoyed the experience. The meat tasted fresh and was topped simply with cilantro and onions, the way authentic street tacos should be. My partner especially enjoyed the tacos, and while I thought they were good overall, I found some of the meats a little underseasoned for my taste.

The chicken taco had a fair amount of gristle that hadn’t been trimmed properly, but the sausage, pork, and steak tacos were all enjoyable. As others have mentioned, the salsa was very watery and had an unusual sweetness that wasn’t really to our liking, although the verde sauce was quite good.

The service was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The atmosphere is that of a small traditional taco shop and felt authentic, although it doesn’t have much character or ambiance.

Overall, the tacos were fresh and the service was great. Prices were reasonable, although the tacos were a bit on the smaller side. We were a just bit surprised that all of the sauces and chips were charged as extras but maybe thats normal in this area. We did appreciate the lemon wedges and radishes though.”

“First of all, the food and our waiter were excellent! We found the music to be a bit too loud, at times it was hard to hold a conversation. Our seating was the biggest problem. We were seated at a table right where the kitchen elbows. Most every waiter/waitress walked by with their big trays, most everyone who needed to be seated walked by. That table in this restaurant needs to be totally removed. I would go back - but only if I could be seated at a different table.”

“Went here for the first time today. I wouldn't really call this a tap room. I would call it an incredibly well stocked bar with some beers on tap and a lot of beers in bottles and cans. I've been to probably 50+ breweries and more than 20+ taprooms in my life and this is not what I expected. Anyway, I ordered the taco pinsa. It was almost excellent. Just needed the bottom of the bread to be cooked a little more crunchy. But the flavors and idea of it was so good! We sat outside and played cards and it's a nice environment in which to hang out. There was a guy down the street playing music so that was cool. I gave the service a 4 because all the women were so nice but, of course, I got the crabby guy. Anyway, if this review sounds good, it's worth giving it a try!”
