“I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Side Street, I am always in a happy food comma post-brunch and forget. Side Street has long been my absolute favorite restaurant in Ventura County! When it comes to the menu at Side Street, you genuinely can't make a wrong choice. Personally, I'm hooked on their country fried steak and waffles. Hands down the best gravy you'll ever have! There's something about the way they make their coffee that has me drinking half a pot of coffee I swear. When I go out to eat, I expect the food to be better than what I could make myself at home. It's a standard that so many breakfast/lunch restaurants seem to miss, but Side Street consistently exceeds these expectations without fail. What sets Side Street apart is not only the outstanding food but also their commitment to keeping prices reasonable. You definitely get more than your money's worth here! So many of their dishes come with 1) eggs, 2) toast or biscuits & gravy, AND 3) home fries or hash browns. It's a breakfast lover's dream come true! “We randomly came across Lazy Dog Restaurant driving through Thousand Oaks on our way to Big Bear on the 4th of July weekend. We wanted to get some real food and a beer.

We parked in the parking lot across the street which had a fair amount of available parking.

We were able to get a seat right away. Service was quick and friendly. The menus are cool (leather wrapped). Tons of good food options. Good size meal. Pricing is very fair for the portion and quality.

We wanted to try a new beer and tried the Huckleberry Haze IPA and it was amazing. We ever got a 4 pack to go (yes they even sell it canned)! This beer was SO good that we HAD to stop back while driving home from Joshua Tree for lunch and of course, more of the Huckleberry beer. They also have a lunch special, a half sandwich, and a salad and other side like fries for around $12.“

“We found this place on our GPS and are happy we did. It was very crowded on a Saturday morning. The service was very good. Our corned beef hash was very good. It was not from a can. It is a very large restaurant and apparently very popular.“

If you’re looking for fresh tacos with the authentic MX taste fresh prepared THIS is it.

Every meat I tasted (my husband got carnitas, pastor, and carne asada) was super fresh, seasoned perfectly, tender, chips were fresh, fresh lemons, not limes (another sign of authenticity imo, iykyk).

The salsas had authentic spice levels, everything.

10/10 for a solid taquero joint. Forget EPL or any other fast food place.

Not the usual quick innexpensive sushi environment, you pay more, but you get a unique eating experience from someone who is a master of their craft. I don't live in cali but eating here is one of the highlights of my trip, and can't wait to go back when I am in town again.“

“Small mom and pop type of establishment which delivers on those burrito/taco cravings. Reasonably priced and you also get a good amount of food. Good guac and homemade chips. The handmade tortillas are killer and definitely add to the quality of the taste. More of a casual experience or pick up. There is indoor seating though its somewhat limited. They do have a salsa bar with 3 different types of salsa as well as onions, cilantro, limes, pickled onions/veg., etc...“

“a wonderful experience introducing our friends to Tabu Shabu for my wife's birthday dinner last weekend. We have been many times but never with a big group or seated outside. It was a huge hit! Everyone loved picking their broth,, starches and proteins and cooking in their individual hot pot. The service was excellent and the food was so tasty. Excellent saki selection as well. The outdoor patio was perfect with outdoor heaters and we were able to hang out as long as we wanted. I look forward to hosting more friends at Tabu Shabu.“

“I’ve been going to this place since I was in high school and that was over 10 years ago. I’m happy they are still in business and going strong. The nachos are always a classic and a favorite of mine. Additionally the salads are good too. Yesterday I tried the 3 amigos burrito with my beans on the side and I added pico. It was delicious. It has peppers, carnitas, guacamole, rice and beans. The flavor of the pork was so good and the burrito had good proportion and filling ratios. My fiance got the same thing but with steak and “enchilada” style which comes wet . We both devoured about half and saved half for later. We will definitely be back !“

It's familar, and also nice, but not pretentious. “Toppers is arguably one of the better local chain pizzerias. Is it the best pizza...no, however, it is always consistently good and you know what to expect plus they also have a great salad bar and draft beer selection. There is a lot of inside/outside seating and it can get pretty busy at times. It's a great place for larger groups of people as well. Service is always pretty prompt and it's just a nice spot to hang and catch the game on one of the many TVs that are positioned around the dining area.“

You can instantly tell this is a family-owned spot run by an authentic Italian family, and that makes all the difference.
