“We came here and there was already a line waiting out the door. When we got to the front, there were a bunch of samples to choose from. Everything looked really good. I sampled the Panna Cotta and it was light, smooth, creamy, and sweet but not too sweet. I was very surprised actually at how much I liked it. I already had my two flavors in my mind, but I would definitely come back to try a scoop of that and an affogato.

I got a scoop of Espresso and Tiramisu in a cup with a waffle cone on top. Both flavors were absolutely delicious. I loved the texture of the gelato, it was so creamy. Prices were a little steep, but the quality is undeniable. I'd definitely come back to try more of their flavors.

Service was good, it was busy with just two of them there serving a bunch of families in line. But they were very helpful and pleasant. I can't wait to swing by again when I'm back in the area.“

“Best Homemade Ice Cream ever!

I had the chance to experience Handels in San Diego. This was my first taste of Handels. Their homemade flavors were interesting and different while still being delicious.

I thought today, being a relatively hot day, would be a good time to try the Handels here in Palm Desert. I ordered the Banana Split. This can feed a family of four, or one really hungry person (that was me). I ordered it traditional, with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice-creams. The bananas are sliced, which makes it easier to eat. Loved all the toppings (hot fudge, chopped cherries, crushed pineapple, strawberries and the chopped peanuts. And of course, the whipped cream and cherries on top! You can taste the ice-cream is homemade. Not only is it very flavorful, but also rich and creamy.

I liked that this location provides water misters on their patio, since it's only a walk up place. Very clean and a good amount of seating.

The staff are super friendly and the service was fast.

Still best in the valley wish I lived closer. Love the owners, the atmosphere BEST DONUT shop in the valley. Always fresh, always yummy. Croissant sandwiches aren’t greasy and super fresh, Thai tea is real Thai tea (if you know what I mean) like at a good Thai restaurant. You can get waffle cone, you can get chocolate covered bananas here as well as some other novelty treats. The ice cream flavors were the classic ones and tasted fresh and delicious. There’s room for seating inside.“

“I was looking for things to try around town and found this place that boasts Date Shakes stating a must try while in town. I got one and it was good, not as thick as I was hoping but good flavor. However, on the sign I see they offer Mangonadas, one of my favorite drinks but also a Pinada; a Pineapple version with Dole whip. Now that is a must try. It's my new favorite drink. It's a great mix of sweet, sour and a bit of heat. Yummy. I also like the sprayers outside thir door to cool you off. A nice touch.“

“I grew up on E pels, they would come to my middle and high schools, the firework shows, swap meets, you name it! E pel was and is a huge part of my childhood. I left the desert 10 years ago and find myself still regularly thinking about these today. I’ve never found anything that comes close to my beloved drinks, and they will be the first thing I search out when I come back for a visit. “I went here for my birthday and it was amazing! I got to pick anything I wanted to put in my ice cream and it was free because I was a member. There ingredients are excellent and they have many options to choose from. I will definitely come back often. “They are the #1 for me . I had a problem with my order to come to me cross country it was all apart the topping right off the Toffee. I sent an email and finally after a month Claudia replied called me on phone plus email . I spoke with Claudia and she made things right by me and was very apologetic. “Stopped at Shields today. We had breakfast, followed by a walk around the gardens. So many trees had fruit on them, just going to waste. Signs all over saying "don't pick the fruit." Instead of letting the fruit rot on the trees, why not pick the fruit to sell or even donate to a food pantry? I was saddened seeing all the fruit going to waste.“
