“After years of passing by; I finally stopped in for some grub; and I wasn't disappointed at all!!! Love the Family ENERGY going through the restaurant if you understand...I ordered Shrimp Vindaloo; my dinner companion ordered the Chicken Curry; along with some Indian style Chai Tea, Red Wine, and an Easy Garlic Naan...DeeLiShizzzzz (Delicious) is all that I have to say. Service was phenomenal; and the setting was very relaxing. I was already thinking of my next time there while eating...lol“
“I’ve been coming here for lunch for almost 30 years! You can smell the wonderful food when you open the door. You can view many dishes behind the glass and order even more dishes from the kitchen. Don’t forget Indian sweets and groceries for later! This is homemade vegitarian Indian food at its best! Check this place out!!“
“Such a great eating experience. No frills, plain and good Indian food for indians and non-indians alike. It didnt feel super Americanized- was very tasty and cooked with care. I had their combo plate w gulab jamun, was sooo good. Wish I could have it again :) They had a Sambhar which was green, intetesting. Owner and man at front are super nice and helpful, no nonsense. Thanks and hope to be back! :)“
“I have many memories of this place. I used to come here for my favorite Briyani, naan and Paneer tikka. I don’t eat meat but Al Amin guys used to make veggie version of Briyani & Tikka masala. I was back in town so I decided to check in. I called the store but it was sad to hear that they don’t sell food anymore. Their kitchen is closed till further notice. Well, COVID sucks! I wish they bring back their kitchen. I miss enjoying their Briyani.“
“I took our family there for dinner with Groupon. We aren't familiar with Indian food. Everything we ordered was good. Very delicious and inexpensive. We ordered samosa and fries with mixed veggies, Butter chicken, eggplant, spanish with cheese, teki kabab, veggies basmati, nan, roti, and rice pudding. However, we don't really like Indian beer and Indian ice tea. The mango smoothie was good. I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere because they don't turn on the air conditioner in the summer. It was very hot. We are eating and sweating.“
“Angara hits the spot when you crave Indian buffet. The chicken and paneer tikka masalas were quite tasty (I’ve had many across the US, UK, and Singapore) and the chai well-fortified. Price was excellent for value!Vegetarian options: Paneer tikka masala, daal“
“Called ahead and placed a catering order for a small get together and I had a good experience. The food was ready at the agreed pick up time and customer service was good.Ordered the butter chicken, rice, garlic and butter naan, and gulab jamun. The butter chicken was delicious and spicy (at my request), the naan was decent, and the gulab was good.P.S. just ask to speak to the manager if you have a catering order so you don’t have to repeat yourself.“
“Great place to go and eat ! Even if you’re feeling like eating in or to go or even door dash oh my gosh I’m going now I love there butter chicken !!!! A MUST HAVE !!!!Kid-friendliness: Wonderful service family owned businessWheelchair accessibility: There’s ramps“
“"Southern Spice Indian Food is a delicious introduction to Southern Indian cuisine. With a variety of flavorful dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, it offers a tasty exploration of the region's diverse flavors. Whether you're trying dosas, biryanis, or other specialties, you're in for a treat."“
“Actually found this place by accident, I was going to eat next door but ended up going here instead because it smelled so good. Delicious food and great friendly customer service!! This is definitely my new go to spot for Indian food! Check it out you won't be disappointed!“
“This was the 2nd time visit for me. My friend wanted to go there for her birthday dinner. We ordered several kinds of curry and samosas. Food was good but a little spicy for me even if we selected medium spicy. Maybe we will order mild next time?“
“Excellent Indian food. Under a new name, but this is still Zagat rated Addis Tandoor. Same owners, same great food. Come hungry, and leave full. I need to branch out more on their menu, but I can recommend the Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Saag Paneer, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Papadum, and their Vegetable Samosas. All well done. The only caveat I would forewarn: they will ask you how spicy you want it. If you say NOT spicy, it's not going to have a lot of the great flavors that come with a reasonable level of spice. So I recommend you let them make it how it's supposed to be so you can really get all the great flavors.“
“We got to meet Juan! He is amazing! Not only did he make us feel so welcome. He broke the menu down for us and showed great hospitality! One top of that the tacos, pastor and asada (what we've tried so far) are truly out of this world! Salsas made in house. & they cater! We will be back.“
“Food was extremely delicious and flavorful! We decided to dine here to ensure we had food that was hot and directly from the kitchen (which is our favorite way to eat Indian food!). The staff was friendly as well. Definitely looks like a hole in the wall place but we loved how simple, easy, and fast our dining experience was. We ordered the butter garlic chicken, saag aloo, garlic naan, and veggie rice (biryani). So hard to pick what my favorite was because I loved it all! Highly recommend if you're looking to venture past the usual tikki masala.OMG and get the mango drink! It was our first time ever having it and we were hooked!“
“Don't miss out on this hole in the wall tasty Pakistani and Indian Halal cuisine. Despite having three signs displayed in front of their building, it's really easy to miss because it's located on PCH, unless you happen to stop because of the nearby traffic lights. I'm always looking for mom and pop businesses to support and happened to be in the area and saw this spot. Prices are very fair and portions are generous. They even have lunch specials that are available from Tues-Thurs and other daily specials that you don't want to miss. They have plenty of indoor space and even have a gorgeous outdoor patio seating. Unfortunately, it was quite hot that day so I opted to sit indoors.|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G ||-Closest cross streets are PCH and Appian Way-Parking is available in the rear. You want to turn into the entrance as soon as you pass by the nail and hair salon. We passed by it thinking that we could just park in the next available entrance but that was not parking for that plaza.-Came on a Friday at noon and the lot was probably 70% full.|| F O O D / D R I N K S ||Mango Lassi ($4.00) - So smooth and delicious. Not too sweet!Potato Samosa ($4.00/4pcs) - So crispy and pairs super well with their green sauce! They also offer beef samosas but I wanted to try something without meat since my main dishes were heavy on meat.Chicken Tikka Masala ($13.99) - A classic Indian dish that I always order. What I liked about theirs was that it was so creamy and flavorful. We opted for a mild spice level and it was perfect. If you want to go for a spicier kick, medium would be a spice option to go with. Like many Indian restaurants, it doesn't come with rice or naan and will have to be ordered separately.Garlic Naan ($2.99) - Garlic Naan is always a must for me. Theirs was freshly made and the most fluffy naan that I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and make sure to order extra because one order is not going to be enough for two people. I made sure to order one naan for each person in my party.Special Chicken 65 ($15.99) - Decided to try something new and saw that many fellow Yelpers posted about this. It's chicken mixed with tangy and garlic sauce. The tanginess isn't too strong which was perfect for me. It pairs extremely well with rice or naan. Definitely recommend it if you're looking to try something new.Lamb Pulao (FRIDAY SPECIAL $14.99) - Our server recommended this daily special dish and since we were a fan of lamb, we decided to go for it. The portion is extremely generous. You can order one for yourself or share with at least one or two other people. Since it comes with a large portion of rice, I ended up saving some of that rice to go with my chicken tikka masala. Usually with lamb, there is a certain smell/odor that I don't like if it's not cooked properly but I was so pleasantly surprised that I could barely distinguish that odor. The meat was so tender that it came off the bone pretty easily.“
“When I first went here 3 years ago for the first time, it was tempting, never had Indian food in my life, and decided to try it here..My goodness, best Indian food experience!!For my first ever order was their 'Chicken Clove' curry with rice, garlic Naan, and their amazing, creamy 'Mango Lassi'Their Mango Lassi, one of my top favorite drinks in general, sometimes I even go there to get their mango lassi, amazing!!“
“Very clean and welcomig Indian restaurant.they have many Indian art on the walls that makes you feel in India. Lunch was very delicious probably one of the best Indian food in the city. weekend they have champagne brunch or you can have soft drink insted if you are not a champagne person.most menu items served in the buffet are very fresh and full of flavors not like other buffet restaurants.Naan bread with fresh chopped garlic is included with buffet but served to table as you start to eat and you can ask for more if you need.pretty big dining are that has two sections if you have a large group. they also mentioned about Valentine's Day special buffet they are planning so I think this will be the spot for my valentine day.Service was very nice all Servers are really friendly but very quite.Vegetarian options: They do offer a la carte menu that has many vegetarian items.buffet has about 5-6 vegetarian options and they are all really good.“
“We order delivery from this place regularly. The food is very good and delivery is reasonable. We ordered delivery through their website app using iPhone (iOS). Unfortunately, the app is terrible and you can’t login and have to check out as a guest every time. I hope they look into correcting this soon as it would be great to build points with them because we are regular customers. It’s just a minor inconvenience and we will continue to order delivery from this wonderful place in the future.“
“The food is really delicious and yummy... After a very long while I have found a proper authentic Indian taste.... The place is small but the taste is very very large.... Must try for anyone who wants to have an authentic Indian food.... Must go!“
“I don't know why I've taken so long to review this restaurant. I come here multiple times a week. Their food is amazing. It's consistent, it's delicious, it never disappoints. I'm Indian myself and I've eaten at a lot of Indian spots, I'm talking a lot. From fancy over priced places to hole in wall random spots. LA Indian food is pretty on point but I will confidently say Tandoor-A-India one of the best spots in all of LA. It's very good. If you're in the area, or not. GO! 10 out of 5 stars. The best. Well done!“
“I am from Colorado visiting LA. Googled Pakistani Halal food and found several. Finally decided to come to this restaurant because of good reviews. And sure everything was just perfect. Order was taken right away, food served on time several employees followed up on if everything was ok. Next time I am in LA this will be my go to place. One could have a lunch during lunch break be in and out within 30 minutes.“
“Tried this new place out. We had the all you can eat lunch special. There were definitely some pros/cons.The pros were: excellent food (especially the butter chicken), great naan! Price was reasonable at $19 per person. Easy to park with no extra cost. Dessert was good but they only had a fruit salad NO sweet rice or NO gulab jamun (which I normally looooove to eat at other Indian restaurants). Good service, the waiter was kind. The cons: the atmosphere could have been more upbeat, it was very quiet (no music playing), they ran out of the dish we loved so we had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes before they brought more out and the rice was limited; I think we could have asked for more but we ended up just using what they gave us.“
