40 Best American Restaurants near Travis Afb

“I was hungry @ 11am, as a full time Uber driver unfortunately I have to eat out a lot. I have had sandwiches for 3 days in a row I was wanting something different, but this place stood out to me on the Google search list, mostly because I haven't seen a sandwich shop with so many reviews sitting at a 4.8 of 5 rating, with zero 1 & 2 stars.

So, upon entrance, i don't love the atmosphere, it gives cafeteria with fluorescent lighting & push tile ceiling, flat white walls and ZERO decor, not even a picture on any of the walls that I noticed... which is fine, they want to focus on the food then really none of this is a problem.

Their menu, maybe 8 protein choices, maybe 6 kinds of cheese, maybe 6 varieties of bread to choose from, & that's pretty much it... I chose the "Joe's special" which is 1/2 pastrami 1/2 roast beef or.. corned beef I can't remember. Meat warm on cold soft French roll with Swiss.

They don't have any fancy sauces except for mayo & mustard, or really much additional toppings except for lettuce tomato red onion & pickles.. & pepproncinis. It's extremely simple & straight forward, which is actually kind of refreshing. Sandwich I think was around $8 or $9..REALLY great price for the Bay area & it's a BIG portion too.

Then after you order the sandwich, slide on down the station & pick sides if you want, I got the Mac n cheese & the macaroni salad. They were I think $3.69ish each

They did have fountain drinks too which I super appreciate!

I got a small bag of lays chips too

All together my Joe's special sandwich, 2 sides, chips & fountain drink was only $25. Honestly my meal would have been satisfactory with just the sandwich & the drink for what, like $11 or $12? Yess.

The sandwich did come with this sort of dark gravy that I LOVED as well.

Don't forget desert, easily one of the best in the county. Hint if your looking for a deal ask about there preset meal deal.(appetizer, main corse, and desert all for either 35 or 40 depending on option). This would run you 80+ in napa or San Francisco. Check them out you won't be disappointed!“

“We came on vacation from Medford Oregon and were staying in fairfield. This was probably the best food we ate while there! Food was amazing. Service was amazing. People were great. “The food was so great and the environment was very welcoming. I was with a table of 8 people and our Server was Joe and he was so amazing. He was very attentive and understanding overall and I would ask for him again 10/10!! The garlic toast lacked flavor but I still enjoyed it and everything else was nice. Even if something was messed up they were quick to fix it with pleasure! The general manager stopped by and was very friendly so I will definitely be returning. Much better than the brother diner in Vacaville but Suisun City’s does not take a military discount. I’d still highly recommend!“

Service is fantastic even when they’re slammed. They’re professional and personal Again it’s like being home interacting with an Auntie who’s gonna bring you breakfast. With that being said it’s no surprise the atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed just like being at home. It’s like going to your Aunties house for a large family meal. I appreciate this place greatly. I’d eat here daily if I could.

Parking: It’s a small parking lot, I’ve never had a problem finding parking but I’ve been fortunate to arrive before the crowds. I’m only assuming it could be a challenge during peak hours. There is free parking across the street if needed.

Kid-friendliness: It’s a casual restaurant kids are welcome

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, everyone uses a ramp way to enter the building.“

“I and four friends came to Heritic Brewery for lunch. We used to come here for lunch often when the business was locally owned. This was our first visit since it was sold to Calicraft. I ordered a Shallow Grave and BLT. The Shallow grave was as good as I remembered, and everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. Service was good.“

“The hidden gem in the desert. Almost drove by and didn't noticed it, but so glad I did. Burgers are made fresh like everything they serve, not frozen or microwaved. On way to Rancho Cucamonga from Vegas, stopped and ordered a breakfast burrito. It was great, so I stopped by on the way back to Vegas for a late lunch. Burger, fries & shake were the best. “As usual the evening hunger pains came after our symphony concert coming from Oakland on our way back to Sacramento. we saw the golden mirage of Dennys restaurant amidst the darkness of the night. It was 2am , we were greeted by a kind waitress and a smart manager. Our orders ranged from T-Bone steak down to the fruit bowl. To get to the point, the steak was perfectly cooked and the eggs were excellent. The fruit bowl had some underwhelming qualities, but it’s 2AM , we don’t expect farmers market quality. On our drive home , all the lads enjoyed this pleasant experience. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.“
