“I think I just had three of the best tacos of 2024. I walked in here expecting things to be good l, but DAMN these were some delicious tacos. Quesabirria, fried fish, and grilled shrimp were unreal! Brought together with two perfect salsas, the tacos were flavorful, distinct, and filling. You don’t want to miss El Bandito.“

“Great Mother's Day brunch experience. Arrived early and was sat exactly at my reservation time. Food was fully stocked and available, they really know what they're doing! Tip-make your reservations a month in advance to avoid disappointment. They were not taking walk ins and I am so glad they didn't because it kept the restaurant at a comfortable fullness.“

“The tacos were good, I got the azteca taco that had cecina with the cactus, the asada and cabeza. The cabeza was soft, the asada was ok the cecina was pretty good along with the catcus. The salsas were also decent. It's in a market station so you can grab your own drinks and snacks too.

The staff was nice and helpful with the choices on the menu. The seating is outside with a couple of propped umbrellas which is nice during the hot days. Overall decent place.“

“Best Taco Tuesday in Tustin at $1.50-2.00 per taco. 3 tacos are enough for lunch, but I usually order 4. I also add a large cold Horchata (cinnamon rice drink) $2.99 and a side of 3 grilled salted Jalapenos $0.75 (not on the menu). This is the closest Mexican street food without driving to Mexico. Enjoy!“

“In a little corner of an unassuming strip of restaurants, water retailers, and miscellaneous vendors sits this diamond in the rough.
My carne asada torta ate like a panini with the bread thinned by the toaster, creating a crispy-ish texture wrapped around the savoury center that burst with flavor like fireworks!

The staff is welcoming and courteous. The matron speaks both English and Spanish, in case you fear ordering outside your native tongue.

“Went to the food hall for another restaurant, but it was closed. Staff at Fonda Moderna waved us over and wow am I glad they did. Very friendly and helped us decide what to get. Tacos were amazing. First time I have ever had a lobster taco, fantastic. The Birria was also excellent. Great food and great service, will absolutely go there again.“

My son got the potato tacos, those almost just as good just add hint of salt.
Food was good. A little on the pricier side but considering the area, totally worthed it. And the young man that helped us was very kind and polite. Referred me next door to the cute little thrift shop. Loved my experience“

“My boyfriend and I loved their food. I got the carnitas tacos and my boyfriend got their Tortas and he and I loved it. The only con is the carnitas are a little dry but they are crunchy which makes it taste good and then the lime give it moisture and a kick of sour flavor. I definitely will come back for the tacos.“

The menu was a home printed pictures of the food which looked really well prepared. Not surprising then the food comes out looks just like the pictures and tasting as good as it looks.
