“This is a phenomenal, authentic old-school Mexican eatery bursting with flavor and priced right. You best believe the two ladies behind the counter know the meaning of auténtico. My tacos were cooked to order on homemade tortillas. I dressed mine up with some toppings from the salsa bar. When I sent a pic to my dad, he said “When they have radishes it’s usually a good bet.” He nailed it.
I went with birria and carne asada. The meat is juicy and tender, with the perfect blend of spices and seasoning. The aromas from the grill made my mouth water. The condiment bar is loaded with different cremas, a tangy salsa verde with charred peppers, radish, onion, and carrot.
This is an honest-to-goodness SoCal treasure and it’s only a few minutes from the Magic Park.“

“This is the best Mexican food I've ever had! Arturo is a friendly, welcoming, and amazing chef. I had chilaquiles with chicken and a taco de lengua. Every ingredient was delicious and the portions were generous. The chicken was juicy and tender. The sauce was delicious. And the taco de lengua were the best I've ever had. This is my new favorite restaurant.“

“I've had carne asada fries from many different restaurants and food trucks and this is hands down the best carne asada fries I've ever had. My husband had the chicken wet burrito and that was amazing as well. Definitely will be coming back to this food truck. 10/10 I do recommend!“

“If you know the memes, you know this place is going to be awesome as soon as you see the front of this place. A little hole in the wall that served some of the best adobada, on tacos and on a platter. Probably better than Gordos. Corn tortillas were steamed just right and weren’t overly sweet.“

“Best Tacos I ever had in OC!“
“The tacos, yes! They are just as good as they look on on yelp my only con but something that could be a personal taste is that the tripa is cut too big. But the potato is to live for. Well mixed, cheesy, buttery and a nice portion of meat. Oh and amazing selection of salsas.“

“Chava's is solid. Their al pastor reminds us why tacos are one of the most satisfying foods to eat. Great pricing, which encourages you to top off with a few more! 6 for me, 6 for my son. Great salsas too.
Super cool service, convenient, ty.“

“Theynare quick, the whole place is nice and clean. This place used to have outside tables, no more so it is just a pick up, no drive thru. The wait is no more than 10 min, but if people ahead of you, may be longer. I suggest to order by phone and go inside even if there is a line to register thatbsays pick up, no wait at all. Food is delish especially their asada tacos, are huge. If you take tortillas with you ensure to eat them same day, they get hard after and yes can be warmed up but they are not mission or guerrero, soft when out of fridge, but they taste delish with the food. Depending on what you buying the cost will vary from $ to $25, but is is worth it.“

“I usually go to the one in placenta so I figured I’ll try this one I was in the area. I got the carne asada burrito and they did not disappoint, great quality of food giant portions and just really tasty. Service was great and the inside was dead so I had the whole restaurant to myself. They are taking care of this place well it’s like brand new in there. I’ll definitely be back“

“Born and raised in San Diego and this brought back memories of my teenage and early 20's. The flavor of the carne asada, chips, guacamole, and hot sauce are what San Diego Mexican food was like in the early 2000's. Abelitos cooks quality Mexican food that brought the nostalgia back. This will be my go to Mexican whenever in the area.“

“Been here a few times, if the location were a little more put together, would give them 5 stars. Food here is great, and at a good price. You may have a short line when you come. Parking is okay. Entrance, bathroom and seating are all accessible. Didn't notice any handicapped parking near the entrance, and there was a curb, so may be some issue parking and getting in if you have someone handicapped. Restrooms are clean. I've only ever gotten the tacos, seems to be what they do the most business in. People do get other stuff, staff are very nice, will certainly come here again anytime I am craving a taco, plus they are open late!“

“Seriously the best shrimp taco I've ever had! I get my hair cut down the street and my barber insisted I come here and specifically order the shrimp tacos. I don't have much faith in others taste buds, but ..... WOW. They need to be entered into some sort of award contest. I'm a believer“

“Fantastic marinated BBQ chicken! No sauce needed but fresh squeezed lemon and salsa makes it even tastier. One of the few places I missed since moving East.“
“This ice cream shop sells the best ice cream I have ever tasted in my life! It is made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The portions are SUPER generous and the prices are cheap. You won't find ice cream like this anywhere else. If you like super sweet ice cream this place isn't for you though. The sweetness level is just enough and it doesn't overpower any of the other ingredients. I had the nut variety flavor and it had full chunks of real pecans, walnuts, peanuts. I found a piece of heaven in this ice cream shop!“

“DELICIOUS birria. Great price. Got a family meal and they forgot my tortillas and I had to come back, so they gave me free tacos and an horchata. It wasn't until I got back home AGAIN that I realized they also forgot my sides of rice and beans LOLIll be back for sure, but I won't leave without checking my order.“

“Visited here specifically for their Tres Leches Cake, which is their most popular cake.
Parking: There's a large parking lot with plenty of spots. There's 30 min spots in front of the store too.
Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space. All the pastries, cakes, and hot items are displayed and labeled. They have plenty of pastries but very limited cakes. There is no seating whatsoever. It's a quick grab-n-go location.
Service: I was warmly greeted by the cashier. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name. She helped me pick out the cake and nicely wrapped it in a box. Some workers speak English, while others only speak Spanish.
Cakes & offerings: All their pastries are decorated beautifully and look delicious. Again, I mainly came for their Tres Leches Cake. Their cakes are 8 inches. Perfect size to feed a family. They offer slices of cakes as well and smaller decorative cakes. Now I know why their Tres Leches Cake is so popular! The cake is absolutely moist and not too sweet! The fruits were fresh. I think it would've been better without the excessive amount of buttercream, but it was easy to scrape off. I really enjoyed this!
Pricing: The cake was $43.67 after taxes. Pretty decent prices compared to supply chain bakeries. Highly recommend their Tres Leches Cake! Will be back to try their pastries!“
