“Ok, so I generally only leave reviews if I’m absolutely wowed by an experience and that’s absolutely what I got here at Gol Tong Chicken! This delightful shop is a labor of love from the proprietor/chef Gol Tong, who is also of note for being the director of several Korean films, the posters of which decorate the space in the restaurant. There is a whole sound booth in here and many other wonderful quirks - it’s really something. The reason why you’ll be back though is his food! It’s out of this world good - incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned/sauced Korean fried chicken, the best I’ve had in LA and I’ve tried all of them! Go for The Director’s Cut option on the menu and bring at least two friends to split it with, because this is an exceptionally generous portion! It comes with two sublime sauces for dipping and the whole platter is layered with fresh fruit and veggies. It’s a work of art befitting its name! Highly, highly recommended and I’m super excited to come back here again!“

“Found this place by accident because it was the only convenient parking. The lady was so incredibly nice and welcoming. Food came out super fast, and was very fresh. I was also impressed by the incredibly competitive prices. My meal was about $13 for 5 wings and fries. Many places would charge me closer to $20. Honey garlic wings: 10/10 (slight kick, I don't normally like any spice, however I really didn't mind on these, they were very good) Side note: The sauce was just drizzled on, not covering the whole thing. I thought it was perfect, the chicken was great on its own, and it wasn't drowning in sauce. Sometimes places go overkill on the sauce to compensate for mid chicken, not the case here. I don't know how it can get better than this in LA.“

We always get their XL Flyin' Hawaiian which has pineapple, Canadian bacon, and (real) bacon bits.Also, their music is so awesome- usually reggae or something similarly upbeat and laid back. “The reviews are legit! Blue Bird serves up super fresh, tasty, juicy burgers from an unassuming location. Yes, it's inside an alcohol and convenience store. There's a counter serve grill in the back where they cook up the burgers. The owner Tony was very friendly and pleasant to talk with. I felt he was genuinely interested in connecting with me as a person. That was an awesome surprise! Thanks for making good burgers and an affordable price. I paid $10 for the burger. “There are so few places in LA that will let you order just a couple slices of pizza - it's nice to know they offer a wide variety of pies by the slice. Was in the neighborhood and ordered takeout from the counter. They run a smooth operation - menu makes pricing clear and lots of people were coming in for their to-go orders. I didn't dine in but they have beers and a few tables available. Wasn't a problem for me but some people may not like that they make only one size pizza, but it's big and if you don't want the whole thing, they let you order slices. I wish more pizza places did this. I didn't LOVE the too-chewy crust on my pepperoni pizza but it still tasted good.“

I loved the pickles which were more like a quick pickled cucumber with lots of sesame which added great flavor and freshness. If you're visiting for the first time, I would recommend trying "Scoe's" 1/4 chicken or the "Herb's" 1/2 chicken entrée. It all really depends on how hungry you are. They are essentially the same, except the Scoe's is smaller, while the Herb's has more chicken. They both come with 2 waffles. You have the choice of white meat or dark meat chicken.Pictured is the Scoe's special, mac and cheese, and Biscuits and gravy.I recommend eating the chicken with Louisiana hot sauce, dipping your chicken in syrup, and eating the chicken together with the waffle. Their waffles are amazing. They are made with Roscoe's own private mix.You can also try their chicken with some of Roscoe's own personal hot sauce bottles. They make different ones than the go-to Louisiana hot sauce.You can buy some of their hot sauce bottles and a T-shirt to take home at their locations. I've been to two different locations, the Hollywood and South Central Manchester locations.Neither of them disappoint.I used to frequent Roscoe's regularly about 10 years back when i was in town for shows or visiting the old Amoeba location. We've gone there back to back days, just because of the crispy wings.I have yet to try the sandwiches or cheese steaks, but I highly recommend the wings.The fries leave so much to be desired, especially because they come in the combo with the wings. They are pretty bland, and just have salt sprinkled, on top. If they were to put any seasoning on them, then they could be good, but they are not great. So, if you can, bring your own seasoning.They do charge $1 for soda refills, so just be aware of that. They also don't take orders ahead of time, unless you have a registered number with them.“
