“I stopped at Falafel & Gyro for some late lunch as I was driving up towards Redding. The place is conveniently located off the highway and serves great food. I have had many Afghan dishes in the Bay area and this restaurant is on par with those. I had the lamb gyro platter. The meat was ok, however, the rice and the salad were fantastic. The salad was really fresh which you don't often get. The dishes are also reasonably priced, coming in at most around $15 for the fanciest dish. The only bummer was that the TV was loud and distracting.“

“I was visiting from Texas and just happened to see this place from across the street. So glad we went in. Great service from amazing people. Food was excellent. Clean, clean, clean. We ordered the tacos, quesabirrias, and menudo. Tacos and Quesabirrias were great. Fresh ingredients ! I was skeptical about the menudo because everyone makes it different in Texas and it can have flavors you’re not ready for. Their menudo was great! Reminded me of my dad’s. Wish we had some of these in Texas.“

“Stopped here by chance on our way to a San Francisco about 6 years ago. I was happy with the environment, food and staff. I knew what to expect by the look from outside. Not a fancy chain restaurant, just hard working people doing the best they can competing with the big boys. I wanted an experience that was from the past where you bumped elbows and have to make eye contact with those around you. I stop here with my family every chance we get even though we live over a hour away.

What an ABSOLUTE Suprise, every bite was divine. The best sushi in vacaville hands down.
Ordered garlic edamame, Gyoza to start. Followed by the Deep Fried California Roll, The Dynamite, volcano, lion king, 49er, & the scallion Roll. All the rolls but one (49er with lemon slices) was fried or baked. All cooked to perfection, no soy sauce needed. Each was like an explosion of amazing taste in your mouth.
Staff was no where near rude like other reviewers. It was quiet, well cleaned and they cook with passion. We were checked on adequately & drinks never went empty.
Very affordable and perfect for family night or date night even.

“I came in for the second time last night on my way back from the Bay. The first time I came in was a great experience. I came in on a busy night with my kids, and the manager, Sierra, took great care of us. It was great to see her there again last night, she even remembered us when we walked in! I couldn’t decide between the tofu banh mi or the chicken hummus wrap, but ended up going with the tofu since she recommended it. It was delicious! This place is quickly becoming our favorite place to stop when we’re driving through!“

“Amicis is just awesome. Its not just a pizza place, the lasagna is really good, as well as their other pasta dishes. The pizza is well, delicious. I grew up in San Francisco and there are plenty of good pizza places in SF. Amicis, is among if not the best and having it in Vacaville, just an hour from Sacramento worth the drive. Jackie, the hostess in Vacaville is very sweet and is always a joy to see and interact with. A place I have taken my kids to, many times and will visit many more times to come.“

“Absolutely the BEST chinese food in Northern California! I only wish I lived closer. Yes, we drive past dozens of Asian restaurants and deal with traffic that can take anywhere from 1-3 hours each way to eat at Wah Shine. I discovered them in 1988 when they were in Citrus Heights and I lived down the street. That location closed in the early 2000s. I was devastated! The food and the staff were all so outstanding. I went on a journey to find Chinese as good as Wah Shine but never did. Then I found out they were in Vacaville. I had my doubts if the food or service would be the same. To my delight, they are!
The ONLY change I would make is to update the decor. Thats it! DONT CHANGE A THING WITH THE FOOD! Oh, and I'd add DELIVERY TO ROSEVILLE (I'd happily pay for that service!)

I can say that we have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, since 1988 had anything that wasn't so delicious your eyes roll back in your head!

And I recommend that you get hot tea with your meal...it really adds a little extra something!

Let me start by saying our server Tara (I think that's how you spell it), was the best server I have encountered in decades. Decades my friend! Sushi was absolutely amazing! The skewer thing was a big hit and everyone loved the pot stickers. The fact that Hisui hit 5-stars in the food, service, and atmosphere criteria should tell you it's great. To the management, give Tara a raise! Employees like her are part of the winning combination of why people will return. I loved it all!

“Big shout out to Aubrie, she was fantastic. Very professional and courteous. We got there around 5:30pm on a Saturday and they were busy. But we only waited about 5 minutes for a table for 6. Food was great! The atmosphere was wonderful. They allowed us to bring in our own wine bottle too!“
