“Exceptional Seafood and Service at Fish in the Village Market
Dining at Fish in the Village Market was a standout experience—one marked by impeccable service, outstanding seafood, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely cared for. Their hospitality was thoughtful and attentive —a perfect balance that elevated the entire experience.
The seafood was truly exceptional. Every dish we tried was fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. Whether grilled, seared, or delicately seasoned, the quality of ingredients and culinary skill were unmistakable.
The setting, nestled in the heart of the Village Market, adds to the charm. Casual yet refined, it’s a place where both locals and visitors can enjoy a memorable meal in a relaxed environment.
Fish in the Village Market is a gem for anyone seeking high-quality seafood and sincere, professional service. Highly recommended.“

“I just ordered for the first time today and I must say your food is fantastic! Generous portion with pickles and delicious soft boiled eggs, pickles, puréed fresh tomatoes and a small amount of hot sauce that isn’t too hot. Just right. Went to your place near corner of Van Nuys and Burbank. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED“

“This restaurant was recommended to us by our son and daughter in law. They know we have very high expectations when we go out to dine. We usually pick apart dining experiences and end up disappointed. (Could we have made this at home and could we have done it better.). This restaurant was a wonderful exception to the rule. The food was AMAZING. The fig and roasted beet starter was delicate and tasty. The ragu fettuccine was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My husband's rib eye steak was melt in your mouth tender and grilled perfectly. We splurged and got two desserts, the chocolate mousse and the date pudding. Both were very good, though I preferred the date pudding with it's delicate caramel sauce. The service was excellent. (Kudos Lilia). The only down side was the noise level. There is sufficient space in the ceiling for sound dampening insulation. They should seriously consider installing some..“

“Taam Shabbos
Erev Shabbos, a farmer bursts into the Rebbe’s kitchen — soup boiling, cholent bubbling, kugel steaming.
“Rebbe! A hundred chickens died on my farm this week!”
The Rebbe nods. “Nu… give me ten rubles.”
The farmer hands him the money.
“Take this kugel,” says the Rebbe.
“What for?”
“It’s taam Shabbos — a segulah.”
Next week — same panic, same smell of Shabbos in the air.
“Rebbe! Another hundred chickens died!”
“Ten rubles,” says the Rebbe.
He gives him kishka.
“What’s this?”
“Taam Shabbos. A segulah.”
Week after week — kugel, kishka, chopped liver — until finally the farmer trudges in, shoulders slumped.
“Rebbe… I have no more chickens.”
The Rebbe sighs. “Oy, what a shame.”
He glances toward the kitchen.
“I still have more taam shabbos.”
The farmer blinks.
“For me? Rebbe, I was feeding the taam shabbos to my chickens.”“

“Schwartz Catering did a magnificent job at our son's bar mitzvah weekend. The food and desserts at the synagogue kiddish, at our Shabbat family/friends lunch, and at the bar mitzvah party itself were beyond delicious. The service was first-rate and Moshe Hecht did a phenomenal and thorough job of running all 3 events. We had to worry about nothing and Moshe and his staff took care of everything with superlative service. This is the 3rd time in 5 years that we've used Schwartz Catering for a major event (200+ people) and it gets better and better each time. At the highest level, we recommend Schwartz Catering for your simcha or special event.“

“We ordered in. I love that they have their own ordering and delivery system. All I can say is, the only sounds you could hear at my dinner table tonight were “mmmm, then “Mmmmm” and so on. Delicious! Favorite dish is probably the Greek Focaccia.“

“I’ve been a frequent customer of Schwartz's Kosher Deli for a few years now, and it’s finally time to leave a well-deserved review! I usually order via delivery apps, and I absolutely love that they—unlike many other kosher establishments—actually allow order notes and are stellar about reading them. The food is always fresh and incredibly savory, the ingredients are top-notch, and the portion sizes are consistently above average. The team there deserves a ton of praise. As a longtime customer, I’ll definitely keep coming back to see what surprising new additions they come up with next!“

“I went to Geshmak last week on a Thursday. It was a great ambiance to be in plus they had their Shabbos Takeout Menu available (yes, they had cholent). The food was spectacular and the service was even better! I very much appreciated the kid's menu, although very simple, my kids ate it all and that's always the hard part. The dine-in kid's menu has a coloring sheet so the kids were entertained the whole time! 10/10 would come back again.“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing kosher pizza spot in LA! The food is always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The slices are generous, and the crust is perfect — crispy on the outside and soft inside. Staff are super nice and quick with service. A great place to grab a bite, whether you’re local or just visiting!“

“If you're looking for a fancy atmosphere, this isn't the place. It's a very simple spot with no real design or style to speak of.
As for the food, the pizza was okay—nothing more, nothing less. I’ve definitely had better pizzas, but it gets the job done if you're looking for a quick kosher bite. It’s a functional place to grab a slice when you're in the area, but don't expect a gourmet experience.“

“This is one of my favorite spots coming to LA. Hundred percent authentic, a hundred percent flavorful. If you're looking for the real taste of mediterranean from the holy land this is it. You can't get better than this... the Pita bread the meat selection and the solids are amazing... my opinion, when it comes to places like this is the consistency of flavor and this is definitely not
Lack of that......“

“Love that it's open late and the staff is still super nice at this hour.
We got there at 11pm and it was full. It'll be nice if they added a few more seating areas (there's just one table outside).
The pizza crust is very thin and it's full of cheese. A big box is enough for 4 people.“
