“This Israeli style pizza was really good! The flavors were robust and the dough of the pizza was baked to a light crunch on the crust. 😉 We got three different pies to try them out. We eat a lot of pizza in this family from the East Coast to the West Coast. It’s not east coast pizza but we will definitely add them to our rotation of pizza places. Next time I will try something else on the menu. The restaurant itself is kind of small but quaint and the service was friendly and helpful.“

“This restaurant was recommended to us by our son and daughter in law. They know we have very high expectations when we go out to dine. We usually pick apart dining experiences and end up disappointed. (Could we have made this at home and could we have done it better.). This restaurant was a wonderful exception to the rule. The food was AMAZING. The fig and roasted beet starter was delicate and tasty. The ragu fettuccine was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My husband's rib eye steak was melt in your mouth tender and grilled perfectly. We splurged and got two desserts, the chocolate mousse and the date pudding. Both were very good, though I preferred the date pudding with it's delicate caramel sauce. The service was excellent. (Kudos Lilia). The only down side was the noise level. There is sufficient space in the ceiling for sound dampening insulation. They should seriously consider installing some..“

Erev Shabbos, a farmer bursts into the Rebbe’s kitchen — soup boiling, cholent bubbling, kugel steaming.

“Rebbe! A hundred chickens died on my farm this week!”

The Rebbe nods. “Nu… give me ten rubles.”
The farmer hands him the money.

“Take this kugel,” says the Rebbe.
“What for?”
“It’s taam Shabbos — a segulah.”

Next week — same panic, same smell of Shabbos in the air.
“Rebbe! Another hundred chickens died!”
“Ten rubles,” says the Rebbe.
He gives him kishka.
“What’s this?”
“Taam Shabbos. A segulah.”

Week after week — kugel, kishka, chopped liver — until finally the farmer trudges in, shoulders slumped.
“Rebbe… I have no more chickens.”

The Rebbe sighs. “Oy, what a shame.”
He glances toward the kitchen.
“I still have more taam shabbos.”

The farmer blinks.
“For me? Rebbe, I was feeding the taam shabbos to my chickens.”“

“This place is one of our “fam fave” eateries. The food is always good. The menu is extensive. ... And it’s Kosher!“

“This…THIS exceeded all expectations! I thought I was going to your typical middle eastern kabob place…but NO! The first thing that stood out was how Isaac (the owner) and his staff (I fear to call them that given, they felt like family) greeted us when we walked in (wow, wow, wow…as they say)! The trust was instantaneously established, so I thought we’ll let this guy order our food (I mean since he is there day-in-day-out and knows the menu better than we do). Whenever I go to a new place and the “trust” is there, I put my fate in the hands of the the staff and I always over-order so I can sample a wide portion of the menu: Belgian beer (very good), Lamb Arais (ridiculously good; so reminds me of mother’s bilishi [a Russian version of an Arais]), Lachma Jun (open pita bread, ground beef, tomatoes, onions, parsley), chunky patato fries, cauliflower “taboon”, perfect eggplant “taboon” and for dessert (dubai chocolates). The Arais was my favorite, closely followed by the eggplant. Everything else was also great… Just to retain some semblance of objectivity, I thought that the eggplant could’ve had bit more salt, but my wife disagreed with me. Either way, we loved it…to the point that we ate everything, except a little pice of cauliflower that we saved for my vegetarian sister-in-law. Can’t wait to go back (and we will), but unfortunately we live in San Francisco! We will definitely be telling all of our LA friends and family about this place. LFG or as they say Yala…GO because you won’t regret this experience!“

As for the food, the pizza was okay—nothing more, nothing less. I’ve definitely had better pizzas, but it gets the job done if you're looking for a quick kosher bite. It’s a functional place to grab a slice when you're in the area, but don't expect a gourmet experience.“

We had to worry about nothing and Moshe and his staff took care of everything with superlative service. This is the 3rd time in 5 years that we've used Schwartz Catering for a major event (200+ people) and it gets better and better each time. “I went to Geshmak last week on a Thursday. It was a great ambiance to be in plus they had their Shabbos Takeout Menu available (yes, they had cholent). The food was spectacular and the service was even better! I very much appreciated the kid's menu, although very simple, my kids ate it all and that's always the hard part. The dine-in kid's menu has a coloring sheet so the kids were entertained the whole time! 10/10 would come back again.“
