“Went out to see the Sandhill cranes at dawn on Saturday, and then hit Wimpy's for a delicious breakfast and much-needed hot coffee. Our server Julie was so friendly and upbeat, everybody in the restaurant was smiling and happy. Food was excellent and the vibe was fantastic. A delta treasure.“
“The gravy is delicious and the chicken fried steak is very good as well. I live in the area and there isn't much around for restaurants. I am glad they are close by. I have not had bad service in the 4 or 5 times I have been there in the past few weeks.“

Tucked away in what feels like an old Chinese camp ghost town lives a beer bar with an opium den, a constantly rotating tap list, addictive popcorn, and an owner just as fun as the vibe this place has. Other beer bars need to come here and take note. This is how you do it. This place might MIGHT just put Isleton on the map as a must see beer destination. Dog friendly to boot!“
“My friends and I made plans to pair a visit with Hay Tone's Hangout with visiting King's Skate Country across the street. While my friends had been to Hay Tone's before it had been awhile and I had never been. The vibe at Hay Tone's is extremely laid back and while I was expecting a bar, it was more of a combination of a convenience store, pool hall and bar. They advertise as being family friendly and even sell juice boxes that are clearly meant for kids. At the same time it definitely also had the feel of a bar with people sitting on bar stools and drinking beer. It really did blur the boundary of what is a bar and what is a place that just serves alcohol. I only drink occasionally, so I got a grape Kool Aid and a water, but would have preferred to have a Capri Sun! The staff were extremely friendly and all around the vibes were good. I could see myself coming back with friends in the future.“
“Looking for a waterfront dinning experience your sure to enjoy? Look no further. Chef Ed and his team have transformed a previously mediocre eatery into a fine restaurant. We were greeted promptly sat by the window with a beautiful view. Amanda our server was excellent as was all our food and drinks. We tried many of the specialties short ribs, seared Ahi, rib eye and lobster mac and cheese (my favorite). We ate here two nights both were five stars!“
“Went on a rainy Friday night and was wonderfully impressed. Rachel was the best waitress. She was very informative and welcoming. The food was great. The fish and chips was not greasy and the fries were delicious. Hubby had the Cajun pasta which was rich and very tasty. Will definitely come back.“
“This place is a perfect fit for Locke. It's unique, rough around the edges, very friendly, with a dark bar in front, dollar bills on the ceiling, lots of memorabilia from days gone by in the walls, floors just a bit tilted. Small well lit dining room in the back with picnic tables. Clean tiny bathroom with creaky doors. Sometimes crowded, sometimes hardly anyone there. I suspect a lot of weekend folks come here after a day of hiking at the Consumnes reserve, or exploring the Delta. It can be very noisy weekend evenings. The food was great. My BLAT was full of bacon and avocado. My friends raved about the onion rings and the spaghetti. I had tater tots. They were crunchy and good and somehow they represent this place. Simple and good from the past.Kid-friendliness: During the day you could easily take the kids thru the bar to the little dining room. Lots of kids-friendly food in the menu. Hamburger, Mac and cheese, tater tots. Picnic table atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: A few of the tables would have enough room for a wheelchair at the end. But small area, tables close together, Its better for someone who could transfer and slide across the picnic bench and be able to sit without back support.“
