“I have been to Hook & Ladder for drinks as well as dinner, and always had a good time. I can add brunch to that list. We made a reservation but there was only other group in the restaurant for most of our meal -- and I have no clue why. The food was wonderful. Our group's orders ran from a breakfast burrito and salmon benedict to pork belly hash and two-egg breakfast. Major thumbs up by everyone. Staff was attentive, personable and entertaining. At many of the other establishments we have gone to for brunch, we need to wait for a table since reservations aren't taken. If you don't want to wait, make a reservation at Hook & Ladder -- even if the restaurant is empty like it was for us. We will be back.“

The new owners are doing good things to the place. Place was getting busy by the time we left. Mixed crowd with good vibes. Plus, the food at the restaurant was top notch!“

“When I first went to Fire Taproom, I was truly amazed. The atmosphere, including the workers, were extremely friendly. The food I ordered (the Classic Burger) was absolutely delicious. My kids ordered the Chicken Tenders and wouldn't stop telling me about how much they loved it. My husband ordered the FTR Chicken Sandwich and really liked it. The fries were also amazingly seasoned, unlike any other restaurant I have been to before. The place was truly amazing, and I can't wait to come again.“

“I'm 65 now but I used to go back there when I was in my 30s and 40s I can't remember the lady that owned it I think her name is Joanne very nice place I love the atmosphere in the morning the Dean Martin and the Frank Sinatra songs. Kind of reminded me of the way Sacramento used to be. I would come in with my painter whites I like to ask Joanne if I could play one song and she'd let me play some Black Sabbath. Of course I apologize to the guys and I'd buy them a drink. I think that's why she let me do it 😇“

“First off the beer selection is elevated. I'm constantly finding new beers that I enjoy. I come here maybe once every other month. The food is really good too. Burgers are fancy and tall. my personal notes are it's a lil oily, I dunno if it's the bun or something. I'm really sensitive to Canola oil taste. This place is a staple for me. Oh and the entrance is a little weird. First time I came here I went through the back I believe. There's a side door close to arco I think is the main door“

“This place is a great feel all around. Public and private options with top service. The outside patio definitely a motion. Ownership is on top of everything. ( thanks to the owners for the tour) The chef with the food all TOPS. Bartender pleasant and attentive. DJ mixed with live entertainment make it date night appropriate fa sho! Again that patio! “This outdoor lounge area with bar is the perfect people watching spot at DOCO! I can have a quick cocktail before or after an event at Golden1 or hang for a while and relax in the sun. Picnic tables and rocking chairs and a place for the kiddos to run around. Brilliant idea for a bar!“

“The Rooftop is a decently sized rooftop bar above Sacrament Brewing on J and 16th. I’ve been here a couple times and the experience has varied. The first time I came with a group and we came on a slower night. We were able to find seating in front of a fireplace and under the stars while music played in the background. It was the perfect atmosphere after dinner to hang out and chat the night away. The next time I came it was much busier, the service was slower, and the music was louder/more annoying. I think the less than favorable experience was due to the amount of people there but either way it took much too long for my friend to get their cocktail despite no line at the bar. I’d definitely come back, but if already in the area.“

“I had the pleasure of singing karaoke with Quinn's Entertainment. First time meeting the amazing Quinn and I just happen to know Wolf over the years. The quality of their sound system, and music selection and thier show presentation was by far the best I've experienced if had. I've been singing karaoke in the greater sacred area since 1994. I'll be back to sing again!“

“Haven't been here for a long time. Great as a rendezvous spot to meet up with friends. Had a tough time finding where to park, but that's because God forgot to hook up that side of my brain up. Parking is down the side street and then behind the building. Plenty of open parking there!“

“Delicious Irish Coffee! We walked around and tried 2 different places for a decent coffee. They were so distasteful, we ended up throwing them away… We decided to try one more time. Thank goodness we did!“

“I stopped by to kill some time while waiting for my train and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d never really been to a dive bar before, and when I first walked in, the loud music, red lighting, and neon vibe caught me a little off guard. I almost turned around and left.

Instead, I decided to grab a seat at the bar—and I’m really glad I did. What started as just a quick stop turned into one of the most enjoyable parts of my trip. The atmosphere quickly grew on me, and the people there made all the difference. I ended up having great conversations with a couple of the regulars and with the bartender, Molly, who was very welcoming and attentive the entire time. She always made sure my drink was refilled and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable.

Definitely glad I gave this place a chance, and I’m already looking forward to stopping by again next time I’m in town.
