“Wow it's been 20 yrs. Since my dad passed. We no longer have Luis's which I'm sry I grew up with and loved. So we go for some authentic mexican. We had crispy beef tacos, cheese enchiladas. And 3 enchilads beef. Chicken and cheese. It was just awful. Tortillas were store bought and extra charge, sauce and salsa for chips tasted like out of a jar or can. Beans were good.Waiter was surly felt not one smile beneath that mask.(I saw the black girl's comment) We are white if that helps) Service was fast. Ambiance is great but I was just really cravin some good authentic mexican. We won't be back.left most of our food on the plate. $79.00 for 3 of us.“

“Our group of eight was searching for a sit-down Mexican restaurant with an open kitchen after 9 PM and found Jalapeños. We decided to give it a try, and the service was excellent—helpful and attentive staff. I sampled four different tacos, all of which were delicious, and the margaritas were fresh and flavorful. Overall, we had a great time, and I’d consider returning to explore more of the menu.“

“Me and my family have been coming here for the past 3 years and we always order pork tamales, mixed carnitas, and have had dishes from the menu. The pork tamales never fails! They are so delicious alone and with some crema. Carnitas has a very good flavor and isnt salty! I like my carnitas with extra buche and skin so I always order it that way when purchasing lbs of it.
10/10 recommend this place.“

“The food and service here are fantastic! Everything is packed with flavor, and I always enjoy coming back. My only note is that if you’re expecting a typical super burrito size, it’s a bit smaller than you might anticipate. For the price, I wish it were a bit more filled. Still, a great spot overall!“

“I’ve been lucky enough to have seen this taqueria from the first day they opened, in Campbell, Ca. which was the original location prior to moving to the Sacramento area. The food is prepared by a family who pours just the right amount of love into each dish. For me, I fell in love with the food the first day, then I fell in love with the family. Mom, Dad, Sons, and Sister(their daughter always called me brother and I called her sister❤️) all knew me by first name basis. I’d take orders from the business located in our complex and order 10 burritos at a time and always left with a free burrito for myself. I gained over 50lbs eating their food because it was the best around. Over the past 25-30years they’ve been in business, I’ve made the trek to Sacramento to see the family and eat their amazing food multiple times. “My family and I have had the most wonderful experiences at Vallejo's. The atmosphere for dining is one of the best. The staff are so kind, and the owners go out of their way to speak to their customers. When my father passed away in 2018, the Vallejo's family surprised us with catering at his funeral. They fed over 500 people, and didn't charge our family one penny for the food. They have also catered for various family functions, including graduation events. The food is amazing and is definitely worth trying.“

Got the Jumbo Burrito, Al Pastor. This is a new favorite spot but unfortunately not close to where I live. Great portions and great flavor for the price. What more can you ask for? I came because I saw a review that it’s al pastor cooked legit off the trompo. I believe it, but did not confirm.

These days with street food prices at almost the same rate, might as well go somewhere that’s regulated, food safe, and provides nice service and atmosphere. $13.99 before tax for jumbo super burrito.“

“I was next door at the tax office and decided to try Agave mexican restaurant for the first time. I'm was extremely pleased with the authentic food . it was so delicious. home made salsa and horchata. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.“

“It's a real deal authentic Mexican restaurant but the enchiladas they had on the Wednesday special we're really really skimpy and only had cheese inside of them no meat... You guys should really rethink that because you're saving a couple of pennies but I don't see you competing in my mind next time I'm in Sacramento for a place to go eat. “Stopped there for breakfast and had a breakfast burrito loaded with ham,eggs,bean,cheese and a toasted flour tortilla. My significant other had 2 chicken taco's with rice and a squirrel. the condiment bar had every sauce you could think of. The restaurant was spotless and we were great and served in very short order. “Omg this place is BOMB. Born and raised in California, I have seriously high expectations when it comes to my Mexican food. As far as I am concerned, this state has the best food in the nation, and this place is on my list of why I think so. The food is excellent, and the people that work there are an absolute pleasure to do business with. I work around the corner, and have become addicted to getting three chicken tacos and a can of Coke almost every single day. It's an addiction that I don't think I can break. They're just too good. If you come to sacramento, you have absolutely got to try this place! I wish I could give it more than five stars!“

“I’ve been to El Cantaro in Monterey about 10 times! I’m looking forward to going to the Sacramento version of this restaurant today! That has some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. “ordered the quesabirria taco plate and my friend got a large burrito.. everything was absolutely delicious. The tortillas tasted homemade and made the food even better. The atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable, and the service was very kind and attentive. We also ordered two horchatas, which were freshly made and so good. On top of that, we received complimentary tortilla chips with a variety of salsa options. Overall, a great experience and definitely a place I’d come back to.“

“The alpastor is super flavorful! The torta is sizable and the ingredients taste fresh, the bread was soft and soaked up the alpastor well. The salsa is absolute fire. Horchata was less flavorful or sweet, but that made it a lot much more of a refreshing beverage vs a sweet drink like a lot of places do. Will definitely be here again“
