“I LOVE Cathy’s Coffee Shop AKA Cathy’s Cafe….. We’ve been coming here for YEARS….. My 13 Year Old Son Bubbers AKA Charles just walked out saying “I Love This Place Mon, they treat us like Family!” I told him we’ve been coming here since before you were born Son & he Smiled the BIGGEST Smile & said “Exactly! We’re Family, Right?” Their biscuits and gravy are AMAZING!!!“

“our friends told us about the Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant in Waterdord CA. it was a quick 11 mile drive from our home in Modesto CA. We were greeted when we walked in and seated at a booth. Our server and his assistant were very friendly. We started off with 2 egg rolls. They were hot and the dipping sauce was really good. I had the Garlic Chicken with steamed rice. My wife had the Szechwan Chicken with steamed rice. I was impressed with my garlic chicken, it had really good flavor and was a large portion. It reminded me of David Wongs China Gate in Modesto. so if you are in the Waterford area and craving Chinese food check out the Golden Bowl. The parking may be tight as there are a few businesses in this small strip mall.“

“Came in just for chips, salsa, guacamole, beans, and salsa. Couldn't ask for a better customer service experience. I got exactly what I wanted, how I wanted it. Price was a bit steep for what little amounts I wanted. The salsa, while delicious and spicy which i still loved, was very ketchup-e. The guacamole was delicious and the best part of everything I got. It's worth going back to on occasion.“

“This place is a hidden gem! Every single dish is amazing and authentic! We were super lucky to get a chance to get a wild-caught fish from the nearby lakes and it was incredible! They don’t always have it but they do have an array of authentic Cantonese food on a secret menu - just ask! Would recommend anyone to stop by, they are extremely accommodating to your taste preferences and really fun to talk with!“

“Full of flavor and quality, our party of three ordered combination plates: two #1 (Sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mein, and fried prawns for $15.95), and a #3 (Garlic chicken, BBQ pork fried rice, and foil wrapped chicken for %15.95). We were served egg-flour soup to start. I thought it was fine, because egg-flour soup has a delicate flavor profile, but my companions thought it didn't have much flavor. The garlic chicken had plenty of flavor, great texture, and little bits or onion, peas, and garlic. The rice and tinfoil chicken was equally good. My partner thought it was the best Sweet and Sour Pork she's had, but mentioned the noodles were a little overly salty. While the price of Chinese has risen to the point it's not as affordable as it used to be, the quality and flavor is spot on.

“A friend of mine recommended this place for thier non-traditional yet original and unique menu that you don't find at many restaurants these days. I decided to go and found they had a nice ribeye steak on their menu and decided on that. It was definitely the right choice!! It was cooked to perfection, it was tender, it was quality and it had all the flavor that a grade A ribeye should have!! They seasoned it to perfection and even had me check the cut before indulging in it. The staff was so kind and attentive. The restaurant is nice and quiet and the place had a beautiful deco of ambiance. If you're ever in Oakdale or want to to try a unique and savory menu with a great spin on some amazing dishes, do not pass on this place, it is definitely worth a try. The have amazing soups too! And if you're ever in the mood for a juicy and flavorful, herb filled ribeye definitely check this place out!“

“I found my new favorite local Chinese restaurant. These pot stickers are thick, fresh and delicious. The vinegar sauce they serve with it is just as delicious. I loved the fresh hot tea that was perfect while watching the rain and traffic go by outside. Now….this fully packed with fresh vegetables and meat War Won Ton soup was exactly what my bone marrow needed! What a delicious meal and great flavor! These guys got it down and especially with their customer service being as welcoming and friendly! Come on in, there is plenty of safe parking. They have ADA parking and inside seating as well. I was able to speak with a few of the other locals and they have repeatedly be returning faithfully over the years and I think I will be as well! The plates are huge and you will have leftovers for lunch the next day. No matter what you order it’s always fresh, hot and delicious“

“The Manager Vanessa made our experience go from mundane or ordinary, to exceptional. We hosted a birthday party with many young children and the patience, understanding, and empathy for our group from the manager was much appreciated.
Vanessa helped us figure out exactly what we needed in terms of food quantity and she helped give us the best deals she could.

“My family had to stop by here for a quick and late dinner after a long 9 hour trip. This place is amazing. Their staff is very nice as long as you communicate with them nicely and the food is very delicious. It has everything a Chinese restaurant needs and theres nothing more I would ask for. I only wish more people knew about and ate at this place.“

“The Golden China Restaurant has a lot of 5 star reviews so we decided to stop there on our way back from Lake Topaz. We had a mixed experience. The easy part is cleanliness which I rated as 5 star under 'Atmosphere'. Golden China is as clean as restaurant can be. Both bathrooms were operating table spotless on a busy Sunday afternoon.

Our expectations for the food may have been too high from the previous reviews. It's standard Chinese-American food. I am a fan of this style of cuisine, but I am not sure how you make it '5 Star'. I had Seafood Chow Fun. (This was not on their menu, but they were happy to make it when I requested it.) It was good (pictured). I would have liked a few more scallops, but I always want more scallops.

Price for 2 with 1 beer was $45.15 after tax. I would eat at the Golden China again, but I would not drive out of my way to do so.“
