the bagels are the perfect consistency. toasted on the house side with a soft inside and affordable.

I got the pumpernickel with the Athena wrap. everything was so fresh and tasted good.

My kids who eat like kids, chicken nuggets only, were SILENT the entire time and ate every time!

The staff is extremely kind and helpful!

“I really wanted to like this place, because the environment is nice and the food is unique and interesting. I only got a pork sandwich and coffee to go. All four coffee dispensers were empty, no lids or sleeves in sight. Sandwich was messy and flavor was underwhelming but the bagel quality was good.

Edit: in my defense, I did bring up the empty coffee immediately. But from the perspective of someone who got stuff to go. My sandwich was ready so I ended up sitting down, I ate the whole thing and still waited several minutes before any of the carafes refilled. Im not trying to be combative but having all 4 coffee dispensers completely empty at any given time is kind of unacceptable for a breakfast minded spot. Either way, I updated to 4*“

“Everything was exceptionally good. I decided on The Dodger which was fresh, delicious, and everything a smoked salmon bagel should be. My partner always goes for a basic sesame with cream cheese and said it’s the best he’s had on the West Coast. Even the fresh orange juice was delicious. I wish we lived closer as we’d be here super frequently. Don’t miss out on this Costa Mesa gem!!!“

“Plenty of parking and convenience since it’s right on the corner of 2 streets and right next to 405 freeway entrance. Got couple tables & chairs outside for seating, clean, spacious and well set up inside with minimal clean cut decor and high chair seatings. Got a small coffee station. Clear and plenty varies bagel choices. Nice & friendly service. Easy & quick order. Hot pizza with double toasted w/ cream cheese. Bagel is nice and good with pizza flavor. Generous cream cheese filling. Overall nice & tasty bagel with good service.“

“Delicious, fresh, soft bagels! This place is a must try if you’re looking for fresh bagels. I come here all the time to get a half dozen. They have many flavors, Asiago, jalapeño, everything, garlic, sun dried tomato, sourdough, blueberry, wheat, poppy, coconut; and so many more. They also have tubs of cream cheese you can buy, I tried the chive & onion cream cheese and the Lox (smoked salmon) cream cheese, both SO good!
Once you try these, you can’t go back to store-bought bagels.“

“What’s not to like? If you haven’t been to Rutabegorz I beg you to go here at least once to try and I bet you that you’ll be hooked for life. It’s THAT good! Delicious and healthy food usually don’t go together but they manage to pull it off.

Cute place with plenty of seating either inside or outside. Super friendly staff always welcoming guests with smiles.

Everything we tried here is just super tasty and addictive, even the quinoa bowl which is our favorite thing to get.

Southwest Quinoa Bowl: bursting with flavor served warm with juicy chunks of chicken.

Thai Bowl: packed with flavor reminiscent of Indonesian gado-gado. If you like peanut dressing you’ll love this! The warm quinoa goes really well with all the ingredients such as warm tofu, bean sprouts and mushrooms.

“It’s definitely a local place since the staff know the majority of folks walking in the door, asking how are they doing? Their family, works, etc. it makes you warm and homey feeling. Easy parking and the place is clean and bright and spacious with both inside and outside seating. Plenty choices of bagels and morning cake (coffee cake). Plus variety of coffee and smoothies plus fresh squeezed juices. The bagel is soft and delish with great texture outside and toppings. The homemade cream spread is delicious and comes with varies choice of favor. Fantastic service overall. Will definitely comeback for more. Prices wise, decent & affordable.“

“What a find. Mom and Pop shop with the best breakfast burritos I’ve had! Friendly, welcoming and with the true vibe of a small business that cares. The donuts were excellent as was the coffee. We ate in and regulars were filing in getting their morning coffee and breakfast. These places are hard to find close to big corporate giants like the Mouse. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito, a sour cream donut and cup of cafe con leche. Wife got a ham, egg and cheese burrito, sugar donut and cafe con leche. All excellent!“

“the coffee at this place is AMAZING you can tell they really care to make your drink well and aren’t using the basic syrups you can buy at the grocery store that every cafe seems to use these days. Although this place is TINY so not really a spot to expect to find a lot of seating if at all, the coffee is to die for. the organic milks and ingredients are delicious. i came here before a hot yoga class and was NOT disappointed. i’ll be coming back more often.“

“What a great hidden gem in Los Alamitos! I ordered an Americana bagel on jalapeño bread, a hot tea and an iced vanilla chai, everything was delicious. Plus they have ice nugget machine which I prefer instead of the big ice chunks for iced drinks!
The iced vanilla chai was SO good, much much better than its big corporation competitors. I will definitely come again. Both girls behind the counter were very kind and patient and gave me the WiFi password and gave me recommendations. They really made you feel at ease. “My second time here, but many more visits to come. The donuts are fresh, the sandwiches are made fresh, the Vietnamese coffee is the perfect blend of sweet with a strong coffee flavor. I ordered the #2 sandwich, ham egg and cheese on white bread, and I asked them to heat up the ham because I am pregnant and cannot eat cold deli meat, they did it no problem! For such a simple sandwich, it is filled with flavor! 10/10 will reccomend others to try this place out.“

“A friend of mine and I love to get bagels together every so often, so we decided to visit this place. This place has one of the best bagels that I have ever had! Their bagels are light yet larger than your typical grocery bagel, but you don't feel so dense by the end of eating one of their sandwiches. I got their egg, sausage, and cheese sandwich on a wheat bagel, and it was DELICIOUS! I also got an iced blended spiced chai which I HIGHLY recommend. “Oh man, this donut shop is an absolute gem! Stopped by this morning and was blown away by the fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth donuts--every bite was pure bliss. I've had every donut and let me tell you, nostalgic and brings you back to childhood memory lane that just hit all the right spots. The staff was super friendly, hooked me up with a fresh batch, and the vibe in there is so cozy and welcoming. The smoothies are on point too! Honestly, I'm already craving my next visit. “Well, its not THE best anymore, but I still like it. It is a bit pricey for what you get, which is fine if its quality. The iced latte was warm, the bagel was doughy & had just a little piece of soggy bacon. It has always been expensive for a bagel shop, but it use to be small & family operated. I was glad to see it expand, but now miss what it used to be. The drive through is convenient for me. Others complain about the cashless aspect which for me is not an issue… It will not be my go to for coffee & I hope they fix the bagel because the lunch sandwich looked good & I would like to try it sometime. 3.5 stars 🌟 for this location.“

“I have been coming to Grounds Bakery & Cafe since the day they opened. They have some of the best fresh breads and pastries. Such a massive selection. My favorite are the sandwiches. Honestly the best tuna sandwich in the world. And literally, I mean the world- I have tried them everywhere. And their is not single place other then grounds that gets them right and perfect.
